Re: Due date check-in (EDD 12/10-16)--11/20/17

  • For the ladies due December 10 - December 16:

    What's your EDD? Scheduled for a c-section Dec 14

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that? This weekend, I was panicking. :) We at least have the crib together, but DH has not finished refinishing the dresser for baby's room (He keeps wanting to sand it and add another coat so it will be perfect, and I just want it DONE), which means the room is still a mess because I can't organize things the way I want without the dresser. And DH's anxiety started flaring up this weekend as well, and he didn't want to go back on his meds, so I had to convince him that I need him to be able to function since we will have 2 under 2 in less than a month. There's still a lot to be done before baby!

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared? If DH can finish the dresser so I can organize the room, I will feel a lot better. Also need to decorate for Christmas (this weekend), wrap up my semester, finish prep for next semester...I'd like to have all of that done soon.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I don't have an appt til next week b/c of Thanksgiving, which will be 3 weeks since my last appt, but I assume I'll be on weekly visits after that. We'll get a growth ultrasound, which will be nice, since we haven't had a peek at LO since 20 weeks. I want to talk to my doc about a few things that happened with DD's delivery that I don't want to happen again.

Rants/Raves? DD has molars coming in, which I guess is better to have happen now than when baby arrives, but I hope they come in fast! She has one broken through on the bottom so far, so I hope the others come in soon. With her other teeth, she got one on the bottom, and then 4 on top and one more on the bottom all came in essentially at once, and nothing since then, so she really should have 2 more non-molars coming in on the bottom soon, as well as the molars. She is also mastering "no," which is a little bit cute but soon to be very annoying, I'm sure.

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy? Sort of. Last year was the first year I did Thanksgiving without my family. We moved 3 hours away and DH only had Thanksgiving day off, so we didn't go down. This year, he has Thurs and Fri, but we decided weekend before last would be our last trip down before baby, just in case, so we'll do it at home just the 3 of us. In some ways that will be nice, but in other ways, I am a little sad, especially since my dad passed away this year, so this is the first Thanksgiving without him AND his birthday is this week. So it may be a rough week for me.

  • What's your EDD? 12/15, I'm 36+3

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that? Umm, awesome!! This baby is huge and I am so ready to meet him. My medical issues are getting harder to manage each week.

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared? I still haven't gone to pick out my breast pump! Also, his pack n play isn't quite ready.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I have an appointment today and I will get my GBS test done. Also, my sugars have been less than stellar (GD) so I'm wondering what will happen with that.

Rants/Raves? Almost done with my schoolwork for the semester then I can just focus on baby!

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy? I host every year, including this one. I have a feeling I'm going to be VERY tired at the end of the day.

@cait5413 Hugs for going through the holidays without your dad. I know it's hard. Hopefully you guys can have a relaxed little Thanksgiving this year.

  • What's your EDD? 12/10

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that? I am being induced on thursday night so i have three days not three weeks so im nervous as shit but trying to relax much as i can while pushing thru the last minute cleaning rush.

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared? nothing left of to do list except some cleaning.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Had my last one today with ultrasound and shes head down 7.1lbs and practicing breathing motions. I am already two centimeters dilated as well so that with bp and GD they decided on thursday.

Rants/Raves? Really happy i have an end date insight but nervous as shit about whats to come.

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy. We are going to his sister so i can over indulge myself on food before i go to be induced. So suppose to call at 5 and make sure they have my room and if not i get to eat more yay for that!!!!. We had other plans but threw those out the window to just go to her house thats close by hospital.
  • What's your EDD?
    12/11

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that?
great! but also nervous since DD was 12 days late. I'd rather be on time or a smidgen early (obvs!)

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared?
clean the house, wash the hand-me-downs, pack the hospital bag, oil change in the car...I feel pretty prepared. I just have a lot of little things to do.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Next one is a week from Thursday. I'll be 38+3, and hope to be dilated a bit so she can do a membrane sweep. Last week she said my cervix was soft, so that's good news! I want to get this show on the road! Tomorrow I'll be seeing my chiropractor and my acupuncturist.

    Rants/Raves?
rave: tested negative for GBS last Thursday! With DD I was positive and we got thrush almost immediately. Ladies, if you have to take antibiotics for labor, plan on taking a probiotic to help fend off thrush! It was the worst.
another rave: I'm done with work, so now I get to nest and rest. :)

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy?
We usually alternate his family (which entails travel) and mine (which does not) so we're going to my parents' house this year. I'm making the pies!!! I like my family's food better (so does DH), so I am excited.

@elvenchick92686 good luck on Thursday!! I'm glad you get to eat thanksgiving before calling the hospital. :)

  • @lavashiner thanks!!! I was sooo excited when he said to eat and enjoy!!! I couldve cried. And the check-out lady said if we are delayed to just normally eat like i would and rest up so im excited!!! SO is so freaked out. His eyes got so big when i told him before work LOL.
  • @cait5413 Sounds like you and DH have a lot going on! I hope you take some time just to reflect and remember your dad this week to help you get through  <3
@elvenchick92686 ahhh so exciting that you're being induced in 3 days!

    What's your EDD?

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that?
So ready. Mostly prepped for baby & Christmas. Then I have moments where I am like 'omg how are we going to do this?' but that's usually when DS is being a brat haha
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared?
Finish Christmas shopping for out of town people so I can get all the packages mailed out and sign and mail Christmas Cards. Ideally I will be completely 100% ready for Christmas before baby arrives!
What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Will be on wednesday, should be pretty standard. Midwives don't typically do vag exams or anything so it will probably just be measurements, BP & FHR. Oh and I will know my GBS status too
    Rants/Raves?
DS has a fever today... I realllllyyyyy hope he is not coming down with something too severe! I have this terrible fear of him being hospitalized and me going into labor, which is totally irrational because he's otherwise a very healthy kid... but I can't stop thinking about it!
Semi-rant: DH is supposed to go out if town for work next week  :/ so I'm partly hoping this babe decides to come this week so he has a good reason to stay home (as if a 38 week pregnant wife isn't enough).
GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy?
None up here in Canada! Maybe do some Black Friday shopping for Christmas because that's been a nice spill over the border :)

  • @failuretofly i really hope your DS isn't catching anything this close to goal so it doesnt travel throughout the house or end up in hospital :-( I was really worried about SO time off for us going this early but we have it worked out to where hell be off till Tuesday and then may can get off early Wednesday so we finally have a plan in place for MIL so hopefully it'll be nice smooth delivery and hospital stay!!!
  • @cait5413 sorry to hear about your dad and hoping you enjoy your quiet Thanksgiving at home with your little family!
@jlemons-2 I need to take care of my breast pump too, thanks for the reminder  :#
    @elvenchick92686 good luck on Thursday!
@lavashiner that to do list sounds super manageable
@failuretofly I hope your son isn’t too sick - good luck!

    What's your EDD?
    12/16

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that?
Well I’m not ready at all, so the thought of 3 weeks is terrifying to me.

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared?
I still have pretty much everything on my to-do list.  The biggest thing is setting up the nursery I guess since it’s not even fully painted and none of the furniture is built.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
My next appointment is next week for a standard exam.  I’ll find out the results of my GBS testing and what’s going on in the baby exit department.

    Rants/Raves?
Rant:  My husband has to go away for work 10 days before we’re due which worries me, but at least it’s a very short flight.
Rave:  My kitchen is close to being done finallyyy.

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy?
Well I made changes to accommodate myself. I declined an invitation to my aunt’s because I just want to stay home, so I am having my parents and brother over and having almost everything catered so I won’t have to do much.  Unfortunately my mom and aunt are children and acting whiney about my not wanting to do anything, but my mom should have just gone to
her sister’s like I told her to if it’s such a big deal. If I ever get a pass it’s when I’m 37 weeks pregnant...

  • What's your EDD? C section is scheduled for 12/13.

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that?  One day at a time!! I'm ready :)

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared? We need to wash a lot of clothes that were given to us, and I want to sort them in boxes by size. Other than that and decorations which I honestly don't care about, we're good.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I was supposed to have my 36 wk appt yesterday morning, however someone had to go into labor, and my appt is tomorrow afternoon. I'm thinking its going to be the same ol' pee in a cup, and listen to the heart beat.

Rants/Raves? DH is finally home! He went hunting for a week, and yesterday after work I did nothing! It was so nice.

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy? The last two years we've hosted 20/25 people, this year DH has work (which sucks, but means I get to stay home and not visit 3 houses), so my parents are coming by with Boston Market. I'm pretty excited about it.

  • @elvenchick92686@Piccola1988 thanks for your thoughts. No fever last evening or so far today so hopefully he's over the worst of it. He still has a cough and a runny nose, but I can't expect much different for a 2 year old in the winter! He has always been acting himself so I am not to worried.

  • @failuretofly Sorry to hear your DH is supposed to go out of town--that would make me so nervous at this point! Hope your son is feeling better, too!

@Piccola1988 Sorry your DH is traveling too!

@jlemons-2 I keep forgetting about the breast pump! I called the local supplier my insurance recommended, but they needed some stuff from my doc and I don't know if they got it and I keep forgetting to call. Putting it on my calendar for today!

  • What's your EDD?
    12/10

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that?
Praise Jesus and all that is holy! I’m so ready for this kid to get here and to not be pregnant any more.

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared?
Pretty prepared at this point. I need to get my oil changed, put up a few Christmas decorations, and finish wrapping some gifts. The last 2 are more like “wish list” items anyway, so I’m good just lounging till LO arrives.

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Pretty standard. Hopefully I’ll be dilated enough to get a sweep done because omg get this baby out.

    Rants/Raves?
DD is being a bit of a tushy lately, and has been extra clingy. Also, we’ve hit the tantrum stage, so that’s been fun. But DH gets off work at 12 tomorrow and is off Thursday and Friday! This is the first time that’s happened in our 7 year relationship.

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy?
We already did dinner at DHs family’s this past weekend (about an hour away), so just doing my family this year thankfully. We usually go to his grandma’s house on Thursday, too, but her food is absolutely awful and it’s always a pain with 40+ people in a 1000 sq foot house. We’ll probably spend most of the day at my parents house so I can help cook, since my kitchen is too small anyway.
  • What's your EDD? 12/16.

This week we can finally say, "Three weeks left!"  How are you feeling about that? Both excited and terrified.

What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?  Or are you feeling pretty prepared? I'm feeling pretty prepared.  The main things left on my list are:

    - sanitize bottles, paci, pump parts (but I'm intentionally waiting until I get closer to my due date so they don't just get dirty again from sitting around)
    - set up the pack n play in the bedroom (I'm waiting on H to bring the pack n play upstairs, but this should hopefully take like 20 minutes)
    - set up changing pad and diaper trash.  I don't technically have these items yet, but they are sitting in my Amazon cart.
    - create a diaper changing station somewhere in our living room
    - I guess decorate for xmas
    - shop for xmas

What does your next appointment look like?  Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Next week.  Anyone know when they start checking to see if we're progressing toward labor?

    Rants/Raves?
    - Rants - I have a stupid cold I haven't been able to kick yet.  Ugh.  I'm also starting to have some sciatica pain.
    - Rave - last week I had my u/s to check size and she measured like 40%.  Small enough to not be big, but not small enough to be concerning.  Ideal in my book!

GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Have you or your family made changes this year to accommodate your pregnancy? It will just be H and I for Thanksgiving.  We gave everyone the option to come here, but everyone has other plans.  So it will be a quiet one, which I'm ok with.  We do have friends coming into town on Friday who will stay the long weekend.

Although I did want to smack my mom because she decided not to come and spend Thanksgiving with my sister, but then got mad at me when she found out we had friends coming on Friday for the long weekend.  Umm...when you decided to not come you lost the opportunity to have any say in what we do for the holiday this year.  She was mad because we were spending it with friends not family.  But I can't travel and family wasn't willing to travel to us.  But friends were.

    @cait5413 - hugs for a hard week
    elvenchick92686
    @failuretofly - I hope DS doesn't share whatever he's coming down with!

  • @Tennis11785 I had my GBS test this apppointment (36 week appt) and she checked me while she was down there.
  • @Tennis11785 you may start getting cervical checks at your next appointment, but sometimes they are more frustrating than encouraging. 1. They're quite uncomfortable. 2. You can walk around dilated a few cms for weeks, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything. 3. You may get a check this time, go back next week and be exactly the same dilation and effacement even though you thought you progressed ( contractions, etc)--this happened to me with DD. It can be more frustrating than reassuring, which is why some people decline cervical checks or try not to put much faith in them.

  • @Tennis11785 I won't be having any checks as that is the standard of care for my midwife practice, and for the reasons @cait5413 explained I wouldn't want them anyway! I would get myself all hyped up or disappointed about it! Baby will come when she's ready, whether or not someone sticks their hand in my vag beforehand.
At my midwife appointment today she said 'if someone could invent a way to predict when babies come they'd be a millionaire' which couldn't be more true!
