What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? Any upcoming appointments?

Busy busy busy week. DD has an allergy appointment today, I have an OB appointment tomorrow, Wednesday is house cleaning day, Thursday is Thanksgiving with 2 house guests that night, Friday is black Friday shopping and house decorating, Saturday the twins have a mini Christmas photo shoot, Sunday is prep day for their 2nd birthday party the following weekend.

I'm exhausted just typing this!!! Luckily DH has somehow stepped his game up even more and is doing an amazing job helping keep my stress down by doing random tasks so I don't have to.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday/christmas movie?

The Family Stone is the only movie I have to see between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It makes me cry not pregnant so this year will be awful to watch! 

DH loves Home Alone so we watch that while we do the tree.

We found out with testing that LO is a girl.  

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? Any upcoming appointments?
Overall feeling great, just a little tired.  Somedays i don't even feel pregnant.  I'm looking forward to starting to show, and feel LO kick.  Next appt is 12/1 when I will be 15 1/2 weeks along.  

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday/christmas movie?
I have a few: Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas Story, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Home Alone! I love this time of year.  DS is already getting into the season with picking new christmas movies to watch on Netflix.  We already watched the grinch, rudolph, and frosty.

• My husband and mother in law are dying to know before Christmas. We have a 2yo boy and he would love to have a little girl this time. I’m fine either way. Anyways...20 week gender scan would land after the holidays, so mother in law is paying the extra charge to find out early and do a mini gender reveal party when we visit her for Christmas.

• Work and chasing around a 2yo. Making Thanksgiving dinner Thursday for me, my husband and our son.
• Appt mid Dec...normal doc appt followed by gender scan.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday/christmas movie?

• I’m OBSESSED with all things Christmas! It’s my favorite time of the year! My all time favorite Christmas movie is the Santa Clause (#2 of course though I will gladly watch all 3 of them).

@suchaglencoco your schedule has given me a little anxiety just reading about everything you have planned! Good luck with it all and I hope everyone cooperates! I don't think I have ever seen the family stone, is that with Sarah Jessica Parker? Maybe I have seen parts of it.  But I will look into it this year. 

@hcrish is your MIL paying for a separate scan or a separate test to determine the sex?  That's kinda fun that both her and DH are that excited.

@bwow615, I don't think its too much stuff now that I think about it. Just a lot compared to most weeks when all I have to worry about us nap time, haha.
I also made them fun thanksgiving shirts today so now I'm more excited!
Yes, Family Stone as SJP. I don't why I like it so much, but I do. It actually has a really big ensemble cast of well known actors.

I'm impatiently waiting to get the results of our pano...I hope to have it by thanksgiving but it will probably be the week after...ugh! Waiting is soo hard.

This week we got all the craziness of thanksgiving going for us. Also my dear grandmother is teaching me all her recipes this week, which I'm excited about. I'm trying not to complain because I'm no longer vomiting as often but I constantly feel 60% of my normal self. This constant "yuckiness" gets in the way of me completing my normal tasks which frustrates me and my family. I hope the 2nd trimester brings me better health.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday/christmas movie?
I really like the charlie brown specials, the Polar express, and (I know it's not a movie, but I'm obsessed) the Macy's parade!!

I'm planning on finding out.  I'm guessing my A/S will be the first week of Jan

I have my NT scan on a Wednesday!  I can't wait to see the baby again!  I've been having no symptoms at all so it'll be nice to get some reassurance that I am in fact pregnant.

My 2 must-sees each year are A Christmas Story and The Muppets Christmas Carol

@bwow615 Yes, my MIL is paying the small extra fee for early gender scan bc neither of them want to wait the 3 weeks. Lol

I was thinking about this today.... what happens if you go for an early scan and they can't tell the sex?  Do you get to go back for free like a week later or something

If the only thing they can't see are the genitals then that's not indicative for another u/s. If they can't view other body parts then they'll offer another u/s a few weeks later when the body is more mature. Depending on where you live (I speak for the states) it does cost everytime.

I think @fraufarbissina was asking about the boutique ultrasound places that offer to do ultrasounds specifically to find out the sex of the baby.

We will find out at the anatomy scan at the end of December. I have a gut feeling it is a boy.

MS has been better this week. I go to OB this afternoon, I'm actually super nervous about it and then being able to find the heartbeat.

So many, I love Christmas movies. Favorites include, The Holiday, Love Actually and White Christmas are at the top of the list.

@fraufarbissina This will be our first time paying extra to find out the gender early. For our son we waited till the scheduled 20 week anatomy scan to find out. I would hope that if baby doesn’t “cooperate” during the scan and they are unable to determine gender at that time that you would be able to come back at a little later time to try a second scan without having to pay again.

I’m feeling a lot better this week! My nausea is gone and my exhaustion is so much better. I have a midwife appointment today - in about an hour actually.

@hcrish I hope so too!  I think I can be patient enough to wait until the A/S to find out the sex but I was thinking that I probably wouldn't pay for an earlier scan anyway because it took a couple of weeks before they could confirm that I was having a girl last time.  But I would think that if you're specifically getting an U/S to find out the sex, they'll make sure you get what you paid for.  

I don't want to be a downer but I really don't like Love Actually.  I hate the scene where Rick from The Walking Dead holds the cards up confessing his love to Kiera Knightly.  It's so cheesy and come on, that's his friend's wife! And I hate Alan Rickman cheating on Emma Thompson.  They're just not the kind of story lines I want in a Christmas movie.

There wasn't enough fetal DNA for my Panorama so I'm awaiting the results of my redraw. 

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? Any upcoming appointments?

Raves: happy that baby is growing on track (scan last Friday). We are in love and adore our little miracle so much already. 

Rants: I've been so anxious about a blood clot seen on the scan. I have another scan on Monday to see if it's growing. I'm afraid the blood thinners I'm on is causing a slow bleed from behind the placenta as well as my no result on the Panorama I'm holding onto the Dr saying it shouldn't affect the baby but I don't want it getting any bigger. I have Anti Phospholipid Antibodies so he's hesitant to stop the Clexane completely. 

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday/christmas movie?

I'm not a big holiday movie fan... we hardly watch TV in the holidays. We aren't religious or very consumeristic so Christmas isn't big for us, it's more about relaxing and enjoying time with our beloved families. Plus it's Summer in South Africa so the idea of a white Christmas, reindeers, and traditional American food is not really relevant here lol.

@callthemw (love that program!!) We're DD buddies and awaiting Panorama results together! Please update us when you get the results. And so cool that you're due on your anniversary! Mine's a few days after dhs birthday:) I'm also still feeling nauseous and felt rubbish yesterday.

@babydreams88, it hasn't been to bad yet! DDs appt went way better than expected. And because the ob couldn't easily find the hb with the doppler, we got a short peak at bean with at portable machine. And thankfully, we had heard the hb that morning at home with our own doppler or I'd have been in a full panic. 
Today grandma is coming to spend time with the terrors since we won't see her on Thanksgiving. I'll hopefully be able to get a ton done.

@babydreams13 - It went really well! Thank you for asking. They are going to call early next week so I can schedule my anatomy scan. She said we could set it up for as early as the 21! The reality of not finding out is really starting to sink in, especially since if we were going to find out we could know before Christmas.

@pandakov it's like waiting till May to open your Christmas presents! So glad things went well at your appointment!!

@suchaglencoco what a relief! How is DD doing? What did they say? And how great that you got a little peak at baba! I'm stillllllll waiting for my Doppler to be delivered and how I'd love the reassurance of hearing the heartbeat. And thank God for grandmas!

@babydreams88 OB appointment went well. It took a few minutes but she was able to find the HB which was so good to hear!!!

@babydreams88, DD is great. It was a recheck on a food allergy. She passed the scratch test and we got a call today she passed the blood test. Now we'll need to do a food test in the clinic. Very exciting for us!
Dopplers are amazing. Any eta on yours?

Wanted to share some good news... we did the maternal screening test over and above the Panorama and our risk of chromosomal abnormalities came back as 1 in 50 000! Such good news! I'm so relieved! Now for my scan on Monday to see if the clot is resolving and hopefully Panorama results in the next week.

To say im exhausted is an understatement.  No appt until December. And anatomy scan at end if decemeber. How can we almost be half way there already!

I've been struck down with awful PGP which goes down my leg and up into my back, so walking around like I've poohed myself, not great at work as I'm a teacher! 

Busy time of year at work too, but taken some time out this weekend to get snuggly with my pooch and enjoy some treats!

Finding out the sex: 

undecided. DH really really wants to at the A/S on January 4 but I sort of want to be team green. I think I'll end up caving and find out but I haven't decided for sure yet. 

What's going on/rants/raves:

Sorry, I was swamped with a sick kid last week, working weird schedules and getting back from one weekend trip and then getting ready for another over Thanksgiving. I've just been blah lately. But nausea is easing up some. Still need zofran but I'm not still throwing up or gagging while taking it now. Also sciatica has now settled in nicely in my lower back and butt and down my legs. So that's fun. Sorry I'm being a cranky pregnant lady. 


GTKY Christmas movie: I seriously love Christmas movies!!!!! DS has really taken to The Polar Express. I also like Love Actually and Home Alone and A Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street (both versions!) and...and...and... lol. I also really like the horribly corny and easily predictable Lifetime and Hallmark style made for TV Christmas movies. They are really pretty bad but I love them!
