Ok ladies, this is a thread for all your favorite holiday decor, yummy recipes to share, Elf on the shelf shenanigans, 1st holiday baby outfits/ideas and any photos/posts related to this years upcoming festivities! We are pretty much ready for Christmas at this point and I am so excited I just can’t hide it anymore. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!!!!! (Literally for us all!)
I'm cheating with my elf on a shelf this year lol. I bought a kit from Etsy that bags up ideas for 24 nights. I start ours the day after thanksgiving so I just have to think up a few nights on my own.
Super stoked I finally found Addie’s Christmas dress! We were set on navy blue and /or silver and couldn’t decide on these two. So DH said to just get them both! Lol. So she’ll have a New Years attire as well, I suppose ha! I have beautiful hand me down silver sparkle shoes, now to decide on stocking color, black I guess? Do NBs even wear stockings? lmao.
I spent all day yesterday decking out my home in Christmas cheer! I watched Elf for the first time this season and planned out which Christmas cookies we are making this year.
I'm stoked to watch all my favorite Christmas movies. The Family Stone is probably my #1, and The Holiday is up there too. Annnd I'm loving the radio station that is already playing Christmas music. And I have decorations (minus the tree/outside lights) up. I've never done Christmas this early before though!
It will be weird because the last time I'm leaving the general area is for Thanksgiving--after that my OB recommends no travel. So my family is coming to us on Christmas Eve and DH and I will be alone at our house on Christmas, which will be weird! (Of course, this is all barring LO coming before then/around then.)
I love this thread! I got so much Christmas prep done this weekend! We finished decorating the tree, I wrapped some gifts, convinced DH to put up the outdoor Lights, finished putting up lights indoors! I have a few more gifts to purchase and a bit if baking to do then I am Ready! Which is good because as of weds I'm technically full term (37 weeks)!
@jlemons-2 ok! Will do, thanks, one more question...I got NB size, you think that will fit her ok? I love your whole mantle and tree right by it! We hang our stockings from the banister.
@failuretofly yay!!! Sounds like you got sooo much done and so much fun! I’m secretly doing more decor outside even though DH wants me to just be relaxing at this point but it’s all easy peasy work. Hehe I’m sure I’ll get a text in a few minutes him yelling at me from work because we have cameras outside and he can see me haha. Mmmm what are you baking ❤️
Exciting Holiday-Season First: I listened to MC's "All I Want for Christmas" today!! And am now sitting here in my fuzzy sweater & leggings, sipping on a decaf eggnog latte. I might start my holiday prep before Thanksgiving every year from now on, this is awesome!

When are you due and where are they from? DD wore newborn size for at least a few weeks (7 lbs 9 oz, 19 3/4 in when born), but for some kiddos it is a week or less. But I didn't have any dresses in NB; only 0-3 (I think) and 3-6 (definitely). Some dresses are stretchier than others and would work for longer. If they don't have a lot of stretch, I'd consider 0-3 instead, if the brand has both NB and 0-3.

@ShyTonia NB size should fit, but just as a warning, give yourself plenty of time to dress her when you're putting them on! I swear, its like trying to put spandex on spaghetti when they're that small...
We have picked up how chirstmas PJs (0-3 month sized) I do fear the might be a bit long but we will just roll them I think.
We are not doing any big Christmas decorating, but we will hang the stockings this weekend. We were able to find a close match to ours and the dogs but not perfect match.

I'm so excited that we finally are on our way to pick up all our Christmas decorations that we had left behind at our old house when we moved (we still own that property and rent it out so the tenants let us store it there) I can't wait to decorate!!
We haven't decorated for the holidays yet, but I'm certainly itching to. We have guests who will be in town this weekend, and I'm debating how rude it would be to ask them to help...lol. Or I guess I could wait until they leave on Sunday and ask H to help me.
With LO due so close to Christmas, I have a couple of Christmas outfits, but I'm not buying anything super fancy or expensive. Especially since she might not really have a chance to wear it and there is a decent chance Xmas will just be the 3 of us. There will be plenty of other times to put her in fancy dresses.

I'm having my RCS on Friday (eek!) So I did all the decorating this last week. Tree is up, stockings hung, etc. We don't have a fire place so I usually hang the stockings on the wall.. My favorite decorations this year are my entry way display... with my snow man, snow flake scentsy pot, and my block letters. Right now it says "Happy Thanksgiving" and then the other side says "Merry Christmas".
Then my second favorite decoration is the hung stockings. They are Lands End embroidered stockings, which are very well priced at $30 each and really high quality. We started 6 years ago with the first 3, then added each one as we had each baby... So it's been fun to see it grow over the years. We added the baby's this year, and since he's our 4th and last, it's been sweet to see our complete family all displayed.
We just drove by a Christmas Tree lot and it actually HAD Christmas trees ready to go. I screamed so loud my husband is now deaf. And I woke a baby IM SO EFFING EXCITED FOR FRIDAY!!!! We’re going to deck the freaking halls and Christmas my house OUT. The only thing missing will be my regular bottle of champagne that I drink throughout the day lol.
Here are a few from my house!!! I am obsessed with our new tree topper, it’s literally like a disco ball on my ceiling! Haha. And am so in love with Addie’s stocking! The doggies have yet to discover their stockings are stuffed already! Hehehe
@breezybee I can’t WAIT to see pictures!!!! @eazybreezy225 Love your stockings, so beautiful xo!
Came home from work to a set-up and lit Christmas tree! No ornaments yet because DH thought it would be a good idea to wait until we know how the dog reacts to the tree before putting fragile things on it, but he also put lights and garland on our banisters/railings. It's beginning to look a little like Christmas!
Our little Christmas tree...aka our only decorations this year, besides stockings that have yet to be purchased. DD LOVES the lights, but keeps trying to yank the tree off the table. Guess it’s a good thing we’re limited on space this year!
The second one is my favorite. I love chotchki ornaments that we’ve collected over the years. Ugh. Christmas makes me so happy!!! I love that we’ve hung the girls’ stockings

We got names embroidered on them, so I hope we don't change our mind about what to name LO when we meet her, ha!
Got my stockings up now that we know who all is coming for Christmas
