Accountability thread?

Anyone else need some serious motivation to get stuff done? I’m 14 weeks, so my energy should be back, but I am so dang lazy!! I think I’m stuck in a bit of a rut. I let the little kids watch too much TV etc. I’d like to...
1) get the kitchen cleaned up immediately after my older kids leave for school. It’s a 10 minute task, but the more I avoid doing it, the longer it seems to take.
2) I need to fold and put away laundry immediately. Again, it’s a 10 minute task, but it seems so overwhelming.
3) I need to start exercising again. Ideally, I’d like to put the kids in the stroller and walk the dog for 30 mins every morning. My dog is getting really stir crazy!
Anyway, those are some little things I need to better about. I have some bigger projects that I need to tackle later, but for now, I’d like to be better about these. 
Anyone else need a little motivation?
can we all kick each others’ rear ends a bit?

  • Yes, me!!! Im 14 weeks too and slowly feeling better but now I have a super bad cold, so the energy is definitely not there lol. 
    I finally did, and put away, about 6 loads of laundry lol (felt good!). But I really need to clean my house, eat better, exercise and just get organized generally. I'm definitely lacking motivation. Any ideas on goal setting? 
  • Yup! I had a few days this week I really kicked ass, but now I feel exhausted again. My energy seems to be hit or miss (12 weeks). I hate having to pick... go to yoga, or take my kid to the children’s museum, or clean and do laundry... only energy for one thing some days!

  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one!  I get spurts of energy where I clean like crazy, but then it wears me out and I'm on the couch.  UGH!  12 weeks here.

    @babys_2018 I’m thinking we can keep each other motivated! Maybe we could shoot for one or two goals a day, and report back here if we did or didn’t complete the task? 
    I have some sort of tummy thing going on today though, so I can’t do much...at least I cant do much that requires me to be more than 15 feet from the bathroom:-(
    @holli0801 I’m impressed that youre able to do any of those things. The most fun thing I’ve done for my kids lately is going to the burger joint down the street.

    @gildah ok we are on the same page. I dont have a stomach bug but I have a terrible cold and have been in bed the last 2 days.
    My goal today is to wash up some dishes and get the kitchen cleaned though. Hubby hasn't...but he's also been working a lot and taking care of me. So, I think if that's done, I'll feel better about the state of my house (bit by bit right?!) 
  • Ok I did it! Kitchen is cleaned up! Hubby helped with dinner tonight too and I feel less stressed and more organized! I definitely need to do some mopping and generally cleaning but that will be another day :)

    Well done! Ive cleaned the kitchen. Next I need to:
    1) reorganize the cabinets
    2) clean up the mud room/ kids art supplies
    3) Put away laundry (laundry day was on Tuesday, I’m struggling here)
    4) Get maternity clothes out of storage/wash/dry/put away
  • We had an enormous pot luck 3 weeks ago. There were 60 people in the house. We cleaned up, but we didn't put the extra tables away, the kitchen chairs back, or put the area rug back. The extra table has since been covered in papers. I'm determined to finish clearing it all tonight. I even had coffee at 8pm. I really feel like I could sleep until May.
