Re: Thursday Ticker Change 11/8

  • 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?  5 weeks! Appleseed :)

    2. How are you feeling? Really good so far. I had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday after a BM (sorry if TMI). That freaked me out a bit, but nothing since and DH told me he read it was normal even at 5 weeks. Trying to just stay positive and hopeful!

    3. Any appointments coming up? Not until Nov 30.

    4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I am still just so excited to be pregnant that I feel like it's not real. Also very anxious that something will go wrong. I'm trying to live by the "today, I am pregnant" and just be grateful for every day that I am pregnant. It really feels like such a miracle for me.

    5. GTKY:
Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? I have a love/hate relationship with them. I like them in theory, but I'm also a planner.

    1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby
    6 weeks, sweet pea

    2. How are you feeling?
Tired, anxious, ragey, nauseous. Fun pregnant things.

    3. Any appointments coming up?
23 hours but who's counting? Hopefully we will hear a heartbeat and dx my heterotopic so I can get this surgery over with.

    4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Trying not to be bummed about another surgery and what that means and focus on the uterine pregnancy I do have.
DS has been extra sweet today, which is nice. And it looks like an early nap day, it's the little things <3
    5. GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?
I like them in theory... but if I have even the slightest inclination that there's a surprise in my future I make it my life's mission to uncover it.

  • @acunamatada I am glad you have an appointment tomorrow and will get everything figured out! Can you remind me- why do you think you have a heterotopic pregnancy? Just by symptoms or do you have other risk factors?

  • @MrsMiller8588 *TW maybe* my last preg was ectopic on my right, the tube burst out of the opening so my doc kept it. I wish she hadn't.
This time around they've seen a "suspicious mass" near my ovary on my right side. One doctor says it's a cyst, tech says it's probably ectopic. Either way I O'd on both sides and I have one good preg in my uterus. I was skeptical for a while but this past week I've been getting ectopic pains so I'm pretty sure there's something in there. Plus they found fluid by my tube/ovary on the right during my last few u/s. Sorry for the novel, I wasn't sure how to cut that down lol.
  • @acunamatada Thanks for sharing! Were you being monitored to know you ovulated on both sides? It has to be scary to face surgery especially knowing that you have a healthy pregnancy as well. I will be thinking of you tomorrow! If it is a cyst will they also have to do surgery to drain or anything?

  • @MrsMiller8588 no, I've only been monitored since my BFP. They say I may have O'd on both sides because I have a cyst on both ovaries. I don't think they would drain the cyst, but they did talk about possibly doing an exploratory lap to see if they can visualize anything in the tube. But as of now they're waiting for a clearer picture via u/s.
  • 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?  6 weeks, 1 day.  Sweet pea!  :)

    2. How are you feeling? Eh. Nausea comes and goes all day-super strong in the afternoon and evening to where it prevents me from eating dinner.  Also very tired, my boobs are killing me, and my husband would probably tell you I am pretty cranky....

    3. Any appointments coming up? November 27th!

    4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?  My DH just told me he is getting deployed to Puerto Rico for 30 days, and leaves the day after Thanksgiving.  He works for the Army Corp of Engineers so we knew this was probably coming, but now that it's real I have so much anxiety.

  • 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
5 weeks according to ovulation date.  Appleseed.

    2. How are you feeling?
Better than I was at this stage in my last pregnancy.  Not really nauseous but not 100% either.  Sore boobs, thirst, crazy dreams.

    3. Any appointments coming up?
    Not until December 8th  :/

    4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Annoyed that my husband can't take initiative to do things around the house.  Do I really need to point out that there's dishes to wash or bathrooms to clean?  Are your eyes broken?

    5. GTKY:
Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?
I like them, it shows people are thinking about you.  Not that I ever get surprises...

  • @coco2787 my DH is the same way. His parents are literal slobs so he has no standards when it comes to tidiness. I have to give specific direction when I ask him to clean because he just doesn't see it/care.
  • 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is the baby?

    5 weeks today! Appleseed :)

    2.How are you feeling?

I quit having symptoms and I'm actually bummed about it. This early in pregnancy it's the only thing saying, "hey, you're pregnant!" (besides continually taking tests) Dreams are still weird and my nipples hurt, but that's it.

    3. Any appointments coming up?

My first US and meeting with the OB is Nov. 29th!! I'll be 7 weeks 6 days.

    4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?

DH let me tell my best friend and It was so nice being able to! She cried, haha.

    5. GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?

@stlmegs Same. I LOVE surprising my husband. I like the thought of DH wanting to surprise me but he better do it ASAP because I am terrible with waiting. So impatient. Being pregnant is the ultimate test from God to teach me patience, because I have zero.

  • @coco2787 yes to the crazy dreams and thirst! also I think I am the bad cleaner in my house :# DH is SO good but I have no idea how I got that lucky. He does like to put off projects though so he's definitely not perfect.

@gspmom21  Your first appointment is the day before mine! I don't have an US scheduled but I might ask :)

@mrsmiller8588 I believe we have the same due date, you should ask! You'll be close enough to 8 weeks, which you can see baby or babies before then anyway!! It wouldn't hurt :)

    Edit: wording

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @gspmom21 I will be 8 weeks exactly going by LMP. I have been told that early US aren't normally covered by insurance in my area. It's very common here to only have one US around 20 weeks in a healthy pregnancy. In order to get it covered by insurance I would have to have reason - not sure how far along I am (know my LMP) or have cramping or bleeding they need to check.

  • @gspmom21 Fun fact - my sister and cousin both didn't find out they were having twins until 20 weeks because they never had a need for an early US!

  • @mrsmiller8588 how the heck does anyone wait that long before seeing their baby?!?!! I would go insane.

But, looks like your odds are good for having multiples ;)

Somewhat related - I'm curious about our insurance situation. We have fantastic insurance now (husband works for the railroad), but is going to change jobs ideally in May of next year or right after that. I'm wondering how crazy it would be to change insurances 7 months pregnant or if he should just wait to get his other job. He's graduating with his second degree and completely changing his career. There's no rush to get the new job, he could wait until the baby comes, but he's going into the plants and when they're hiring you sort of have to jump on the opportunity.

So, with my doctor I'm going to get my bill next appointment.  I don't know if they would give me a new bill when and if our insurance changes or what.

  • @mrsmiller8588 oops, I read your message wrong, I thought your appointment was Tuesday. We'll both me 8 weeks that Thursday the 30th :)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @gspmom21 I would think that as long as there is no lapse in coverage it shouldn't be a problem to switch? I'm not an expert though so I don't know how they handle deductible and OOP costs. I would be a little worried about having to meet those twice. Do you get your bill for all maternity care up front?

  • 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 5 weeks by my best guess. Appleseed or peppercorn

    2. How are you feeling? Emotionally, I go through waves of excitement and anxiety. Physically, I have more symptoms than this point in my last pregnancy. I feel pretty good in the morning but slowly get ridiculously tired and nauseas. I've definitely been asleep by 830pm the past few nights. Also been incredibly thirsty and way more hormonal/emotional! I am NOT a cryer and I've been tearing up at the littlest things lately. I'm taking it all as a good sign. :)

    3. Any appointments coming up? Countdown to November 27th is on!

    4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Oh I feel so bad for my H. I've been horrible to him lately and I really don't mean to. He's the closest thing around and I've been letting all my irritation out on him. He's been at a work conference the past two days and gets home tomorrow. I have to think of something sweet to do to make up for it.

    5. GTKY:
Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? Hate surprises. My "friend" in high school was throwing me a surprise party for my 16th birthday and "forgot" to invite everyone. (Obviously not a good friend.) I knew about the party and was so excited only to show up at my house with absolutely no one there. Devastating. Too scarred from that experience to ever appreciate surprises again.
  • @mrsmiller8588 I do get it upfront. At my next appointment on the 29th they'll give me the bill for my maternity care. Also, I was curious about deductible. I'll be pregnant for 2017 and 2018. I've already met it for this year ($200). So when next year comes along I wonder if i'll have to pay more or they'll lump it in now.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @Kenya715 oh that's the worst kind of surprise!

@gspmom21 they definitely don't give us a bill upfront here.. strange. I think you have to meet your deductible each year for insurance.
