Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Tentatively Team Pink. We find out for sure on Saturday!
How old are your other kids? DS is 3.5
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rant- I have had to work late a lot this week and I feel like I haven't had a lot of time with DS. Rave- We have Friday off this week and I am looking forward to a 3 day weekend. Questions- None that I can think of right now.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? I wash my hair twice a week and use dry shampoo in between. I used to be a "wash every day" person until I had DS and needed to cut some time off of my morning routine. I have slowly been training my hair to go longer in between washes and it makes such a big difference.
How far along are you? 14+1 Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? We'll hopefully find out during the anatomy scan on 12/20 How old are your other kids? 3 yo twin girls Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rant at myself for forgetting to put pull-ups on the girls last night before bed. I felt bad enough that MH had to deal with them and their beds being soaking wet, but then he told me they thought they would be in trouble for having accidents, and it made me feel even more terrible. So I guess that's just confirmed that they're not ready to night train. Other than that, I was informed last night that Hannah has a baby in her belly, so I guess I'm going to be a Grandma! GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Ugh, as little as possible. Wash it, blow dry it with a big round brush, the end. The next day, wear it half up and then sometimes if I'm feeling super lazy, the next day it'll be a pony tail. Either way, I almost never wash my hair two days in a row.
Me, 35 Hubs, 32 Married June 2012 BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013 BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014 BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
@sandbar517 DS sometimes says he has a baby in his tummy, too! Try not to beat yourself up about the pull-ups. They won't remember and it will all be okay! Night training took us a long time. I just bought the Batiste dry shampoo for brown hair and I am going to try that one out to see if it looks less white.
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Finding out at the anatomy scan Dec 4
How old are your other kids? 2 years old
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- DS is living up to his nickname Mr. Independent. His catch phrase is "I do it myself" so you can imagine how our days go lol
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Day 1: wash, blow dry Day 2: curl or half up/half down style Day 3: dry shampoo and up in a ponytail Day 4: more dry shampoo and up in a bun Day 5: start over
@mileswithmyles I use the dark hair Batiste and it definitely blends nicer than the original. It has a bit of a scent to it but it's not a bad smell, just different than the original Batiste. Also I get mine from Marshalls/Winners since it's even cheaper there
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? I'm guessing my a/s will be just after the new year so I'll find out then hopefully! My daughter was so uncooperative last time that we didn't find out she was a girl until the follow-up a/s we had to schedule 2 weeks after the initial a/s. Even then they had a hard time figuring it out.. girl was just straight chilling with her legs crossed, no intentions of moving.
How old are your other kids? 10 months
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- I'm starting to plan her first birthday party!!! I can't believe it.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? I wash every other day, sometimes every 3rd day if I can get away with it. And just let it air dry. It sounds like I really need to start using dry shampoo though, anything that can buy me a few days without washing!
@fraufarbissina, I know I've mentioned it at some point in the past, but if the girls weren't identical, there is no way we would have found out Baby A's sex before she was born. She always had her legs crossed up under her bum, and would not budge.
Me, 35 Hubs, 32 Married June 2012 BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013 BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014 BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)-
I tried to let the kids do window clings today. It was an epic fail, but they had fun. I wasted $5 and they're all ruined, but no one ate any so win!
GTKY: What is your hair care routine?
Do people have these? I shower every day, sometimes twice when I hit the gym. I wash my hair, condition it, and towel dry. That's it. On special occasions, I blow dry.
@onesmallcoconut I am impressed that you can go 5 days! While I love the independence toddlers have, sometimes I really want to just do things for DS so we can leave the house in a somewhat timely manner.
@mileswithmyles I've been pretty lucky with my hair not getting too greasy. Dry shampoo was also the best thing ever. Of course this schedule gets interrupted if I workout. I have to wash it after that.
I've been meaning to make this my Facebook status for some time now. 3 yo toddler trying to zip a coat/brush their teeth/play a video game: I can do it MYSELF! Same toddler, five minutes later: (whining) I can't put my toys away/velcro my own shoes/bring you my cup, I need you to heeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? We were surprised with our son, but we want to find out this time around. We will know in January, but I'm leaning towards a boy.
How old are your other kids? Our son is 16 months and full of energy!
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- I have struggled to find the energy to keep up with my son as I battle nausea. Does anyone else run into this issue and have ideas for good ways to interact with a toddler, tire them out and still save some energy for yourself? Also, we just bought my son his own toddler chair and he LOVES it. I highly recommend getting your little ones their own chair to make them feel just like mom and dad.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? I wash and condition my hair 2-3 times a week. I have curly hair, so I rarely use any hot tools on it. If it's look bad and I don't have time for a shower, then I wear a ponytail to work and a baseball hat at home.
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Will be finding out soon. Doing a reveal cake with family in 10 days! (Did Harmony test at 10 weeks so could have found out a couple of weeks ago.) It's so crazy to me to find out so early though as we were Team Green with #1.
How old are your other kids? 2.5
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Totally had a road rage moment(s) with my daughter in the car earlier today. I felt so guilty afterward for setting such a bad example! Can I blame it on pregnancy hormones?
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Wash every other day. Blow dry. Occasional flat iron if I'm trying to look nice. :-)
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- We're in a rough sleep patch and it's making me even more exhausted if that's possible! On the flip side he's been so cute about the baby and will randomly say "I'm having baby sister, I'm going to nug (snuggle) the baby." So cute
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Lately its shower and put my hair up because lazy. Usually it's shower, blow dry and straighten or shower and leave curly.
@LCKM I don't have any ideas. We've been snuggling and watching a lot of movies together. I am grateful he goes to school 5 days a week and gets a lot of outside time there.
@maplemom18 I have bad road rage, too. I have to work on it.
Team: undecided. I want to be team green but DH wants to find out so badly.
Other kids: DS is 2.5
Rants/Raves/Qs: it's just been a long week and I'm looking forward to the weekend, but not really. DH killed his car and needs mine all weekend. So I'll be stuck at home in 40 degree rainy weather with a two year old and not able to get out of the house for a break.
GTKY: well I'm still adjusting to having more hair. I donated all twenty inches of my hair about 15 months ago and shaved it at a St. Baldricks shavaton. So for a long time I would just use water when I showered because I basically had a buzz cut. I would use shampoo to rid any oil about once a week. Now it's more of a pixie/bob style. I wash it like twice a week wish shampoo and then use conditioner once every other week to help avoid splits. I just let it air dry too. I've had the same bottle of shampoo and conditioner for over a year!!
@sandbar517, that's a pretty good description! Although for now, our twins are ok with picking up and only DD tries to do a lot on her own. DS is perfectly content with my doing his shoes, hair, and teeth. I will say I get frustrated with DH when it comes to clean up time. He'd rather do it himself so it goes faster, but you can't do that all of that time. So when I tell him "they need to help you pick up", he has trouble getting them to do so because he never makes them do it. They help me, my mom, and his.parents clean up when we're in charge, just not DH.
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Tentatively boy, based on sneak peek, hopefully confirmed at anatomy in December.
How old are your other kids? DD1 is 3.5, DD2 just turned 2
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- I was trying to get DD2 to get ready for bed last night and I said something like, “it’s time to put on pajamas”. She gives me this sassy look and says, “I’m not in the mood”. Ugggggggh.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Dang so much showering! I’m lucky if I wash my hair twice a week and otherwise just brush it and bun it each morning. If I have 20 min of kid free time F if I’m using that for something practical - sitting quietly alone with coffee FTW.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)-
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahaha. Oh wait, you’re serious? I wash it every other day and then sometimes put some stuff in it to make my waves look pretty. When I’m feeling really fancy I blow dry it straight and sometimes straighten it.
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Don't know yet, but plan to find out
How old are your other kids? Just turned 3 this past weekend!
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- I feel worse now than I did the beginning of this pregnancy. I had to take a sick day yesterday because I just couldn't function. Can't wait for the 2nd tri relief to show up!
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Shower and wash every night, let air dry, straighten in the morning. If it's the weekend, sometimes I shower in the morning and dry and straighten, and sometimes I don't wash it all weekend and just wear it up in a pony tail. Depends on the plans for the day.
How far along are you? 11 weeks 2 days...I'm so jealous sometimes of all you guys who are so much farther than I am! Here I am still in first tri and y'all are talking babymoons and the sex of your babies!! No fair!
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? We'll find out but most likely not until January.
How old are your other kids? DS is 2.5
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else) I am with all of you talking about your toddlers! DS is going through a "I do it myself" stage, but then whines "I need heeeeelllllppppp" for the most ridiculous things. I went to a conference for him yesterday. He's doing great! His teacher said he is smart and communicates very well. She said he needs to work on independence and that he needs some chores. It's so much easier to just put his jacket on... I need to allow for extra time when we leave in the morning, so he can practice.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? A little work as humanly possible! I typically wash it every other day. If I wash it, I typically blow dry it unless it's the weekend.
@zizzabell523 I am waiting for the relief, too. I had two good days in a row and thought it had come. Then I got to experience my breakfast for a second time on my way to work today. Whomp whomp
@JNCPro3130 We had that conversation with our dentist about me helping DS with brushing his teeth. I told him that I do at night because I have time to fight the battle with him, but that in the morning, I don't have time for the fight/meltdown that occurs because he wants to do it himself. The dentist has small kids too was like, "Yeah, that's a good plan."
RE: kids and independence. DS has now decided that he can wipe his own behind after using the potty. It hasn't been going well and is one of the few things I wish he would say he needs help with. Blech.
@mileswithmyles my dude hasn't tried that one yet. But he thinks he needs toilet paper each time. But all he does it throws it straight into the toilet. He gets one square... its hard right now when he has to pee but what's to take husband own pants off. I don't want to clean up an accident because he wasn't quick enough but then he won't get quick enough if he doesn't get to try. So hard!
@suchaglencoco I hear ya on DH. Mine does the same thing. Or he just leaves me the mess and says he didn't have time to do it... grrr
@theletlers, yes!!! I/we pick up before nap and then I pick up before DH gets home. Most nights, he doesn't pick up their play room and it's so annoying. Just pick it up or better yet, have them pick it up at bed time. That'll keep it consistent! We had another light talk today about them almost being 2 and needing to clean up more and clearing their place at the table soon. So hopefully, it'll start happening, but I won't hold my breath.
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Hopefully team Pink
How old are your other kids? 18.5 months
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Viking can't actually say no yet, but he makes it clear he means no. All. The. Time. I hope it's just a toddler thing, but I have a feeling he will always be a boundary pusher.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine? Eh...twice a week? I wear it up most of the time, and only blow dry it Monday morning because I work 2nd shift that day
Jana Lynn
Happily married since 5/24/2015 Momma of a baby Viking since 4/16, expecting #2 in 5/18
@mileswithmyles I have the opposite problem with my 3.5yo. She just sits on the pots and yells, “somebody wiiiiiipe meeeeee” if no one comes she just walks away with her pants down. Yuck.
@mileswithmyles Sometimes my daughter will want to wipe her bottom and I just tell her she has to wait because Mommy has to go first. Then she wipes her already clean bottom. Works for now anyways!
The past week when we've gone in her room in the morning, she's wearing a dress and shoes already! Mostly over her pajamas but she got them off on her own once. So cute and funny, but man, I am worried she is going to wreck her dresses by stretching them all out.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- He's doing great at Mamaw's house and they've taken him to Disney twice already. I hope this next one loves Disney as much as he does.
GTKY: What is your hair care routine?
I wash it every few days and air dry it. Once every few weeks I'll put leave in conditioner in it. I try to get my hair trimmed and colored every six weeks. Since I'm back to my original color for now I'm not too worried the color.
