Re: 3rd tri Check in Wk Nov 6th

  • 35 + 3 here. having tons of cramping at night and rolling from side to side has started to wake me up due to how painful it is. It also feels like I was hit in the crotch with a baseball bat when I walk. Other than that things are great! hahaha. The nice thing is that I know all of this is my body preparing for our little one's arrival, so that's good :)  Our little guy continues to be super active, so I guess the "he'll run out of room and quiet down" talk my OB gave me isn't going to apply to this little one, but at least I don't have to do kick counts.

Our bathroom continues to - very slowly - progress, but we did get a bunch of stuff set up in the nursery despite the fact that we have to leave a clear path through the middle for the plumbers to get through. We did learn two very important things this weekend: 1. putting together a mobile is maddening!! try to get one that's already assembled, it will save your relationship and your sanity. 2. baby monitors are SO COOL these days! We opted for a security camera with built in baby features. We can access it from anywhere on a computer or our phones and even talk to baby through it when we are not in the room. None of our friends have opted for this type of monitor though, so I'm hoping there isn't some huge drawback to it that we just haven't thought of......

QOTW: We usually go to the coast for a friendsgiving weekend getaway, but will have to stay home this year since the rental is 3 hours away and we will be too close to due date to be so far from the hospital :(

  • @PoeMasque rolling over gets so hard! My twins were super active up until the end.  I'm a bit big brother and have heard several reports of people hacking into the digital monitors and watching or even talking/interacting with your child. the thought of this creeps me the heck out so we have used the old school voice only baby monitors and its worked well for us. Sorry you wont get to do your freindsgiving this year, but its for a good reason.

AFM 33+1 just plugging along. more BH and cramping but like @PoeMasque said its just my body prepping for this baby. We are making progress on the art work for the babies room, just 6 more letters to go. I hope we can do that this weekend and get them finished up.

QOTW: I picked this up from a dear friend, having pancakes with pumpkin sauce for breakfast on thanksgiving morning, then spending the rest of the day cooking, hanging out and then having a big potluck feast. last year we had close to 30 people over. We won't have that many this year but it will still be fun.

  • Hi all! 36.5 here with my little guy. I have had considerably less heartburn over the past week and it seems like my bump is slightly lower, so I am wondering if baby has dropped. Had the first of my twice weekly AMA checks yesterday and they said everything looks great, so that was reassuring. It was really cool to see him again. I haven't had a sonogram since the anatomy scan like 4 months ago!

@PoeMasque That crotch pain is a crazy!  I got that too about a month ago and it really took me by surprise. Still experiencing that, especially when I get up in the morning, but it doesn't seem as bad now.

QOTW: Well, if I'm not in labor, I will just do my usual thing. I like to watch the Macy's Parade in the morning and then DH and I go to my parents' house in the afternoon for a big family dinner.

I'm 36w and the doctor said the baby dropped already. I can actually see that the bump looks lower now and as
@PoeMasque says, I too have painful cramps during the night, like very painful menstrual cramps, and turning in bed is excruciating. Now I'm a bit worried that labor may start soon and I'm not ready, logistically and psychologically yet.
  • @liljoy-2 dont worry, I’ve been reassured that the painful cramping and discomfort can last for weeks! I was happy and sad to hear that! Hahaha. I’ve even had a few legit, painful contractions during the day. I’m with you on not being ready, our main bathroom (including washer and dryer) won’t be functional for another 2 weeks, so this baby better stay put until then!
