We toured our first daycare today. We have another appointment next week at another center and I think I’m going to add one more to the list. I had initially ruled it out due to price, but it’s within $40 a month of the other two places.
Okay, I'm going to be that wierdo that's obsessed about different TV shows, but it's cold in Michigan right now and all the good TV has started!! The Walking Dead: love love love!!! Stranger Things: honestly this show is perfection!!! Done raving. Have to go watch more Stranger Things with the hubby!!!!

Is it bad we already finished powering through season 2 of Stranger Things last night??
@fraufarbissina Stranger Things is a Netflix original, so it's not on cable anyways!!! We are cable cutters too, we just watch streaming television. Do you have a friend or family member who will share their Netflix password with you? We let our family use ours, since we pay $5 extra a month to let more people use it. Worth a try!!
@mileswithmyles, Look at you go! I don't think I toured daycares until I was 7 months pregnant with DS. Even now, I'm not sure where he will be in August. He'll be 3 and I want him in the facility he will attend Pre-k, but I'm not sure where that will be. You are on top of things!!
@abhphilly good idea.. i DO have a friend who is willing to give me her login.. her name is mom lol
@sparklingdiamond it's bad that I feel like I'm just entitled to free TV so buying episodes never even crossed my mind. I need to remember that that's an option
@fraufarbissina Yea I didn't feel like I should have to buy stuff either lol. But I really didn't want to wait to watch those episodes, so ended up paying for them. We ended up getting cable again a couple years later though.
Does anyone else find it weird that other BMBs that aren't much further along than we are are already planning nurseries, baby showers, and what to pack in their hospital bag, etc.?

I thought that too. But it kind of seems like once you get through the first trimester there isn't a whole lot to do except plan and do those types of things. We're mostly all still in the throes of morning sickness and all that fun first tri jazz. I'm sure in a few weeks we'll start doing more of that.
but also I think our birth month club might be a little more level headed and realize that we have time for that stuff still!!
@sandbar517 uhhhh who has the energy for that crap?! I didn’t pack my hospital bag until the day I went into labor last time. My only nursery plans involve breaking it to my brother that he owes me a ton of money to replace the carpet his dog ate. His girlfriend is pregnant so it’s bad timing buttttttt.
@Poppy0419 same about the hospital bag. But I was actually pretty mad about that because my water broke a month early so I had to hurry to the hospital, and I did not have the stuff I needed for my almost 5 days in the hospital. This time, DH and I are getting our bags packed at least 2 months before we're due, just in case!!!
The only thing I didn’t have that I needed was snacks. And my FIL delivered that to me. I didn’t use most of what I brought. Nursing bra, yoga pants and comfy sweaters were all I really needed.
I packed no snacks last time and made my sister get me a TON of food as soon as I delivered. I was so hungry! Thank god my hospital had a kitchen in L&D with ice cream for the taking!
I had mine packed a little early since I was having twins, and the chances of going early are higher. I did deliver them a month early, but even still the stuff that I truly wanted/needed (brush, toothbrush, camera, etc.) I couldn't pack until the last minute anyway because I was still using it. I know we'll have a thread or two about this later, but I totally agree with PP, it's probably because we have a lot of STMs, and I definitely agree with Princess @Poppy0419 that all you need is comfy pjs, baby books and outfits for you and baby to go home in.

I had my go bag ready at 7 months because A, twins and B, super anal planner. I ended up going into the hospital 3 different times- 1, our 55 lb dog jumped on my stomach and I couldn't feel DD move. I was there for 3 nights for observation because the mfm had witnessed something similar happen in the past and it cased issues at 48 hours. 2, they thought DD's umbilical wasn't working properly so they had me stay the night for monitoring until an mfm could have one of their own do an u/s. 3, for preeclampsia when we then delivered a month early. It made it less stressful for me to have DH run home to handle our dogs and bring back an already packed bag. I will probably have my bagged packed at the same time again just so it's off my mind. We already a toiletry overnight bag that has everything in it except toothbrushes. So I'll probably just buy a cheap one and throw it in there and set it all aside.
I bought a pack of toothbrushes to keep in the bag. Just cheapies. That way if something happened and I dropped it on the ground or something I had more.
@fraufarbissina we watch walking dead a season behind on Netflix.
I won't be waiting on planning a new nursery once we've found out the sex, and we move. I've just got too much going on between the wedding and nutcracker.
This is our 3rd too. He'll be sharing a room with his sister for a while and we'll sorry out a couple of years whether w need to move our shuffle rooms or add on to the house. We've been thinking about how to arrange the furniture in there, but that's it for nursery planning.
I'm mostly focused on de-cluttering, but that's fairly normal for me.
I don't remember when I packed my bag for DD2. Maybe in the way? I prefer the hospital gowns anyway. The days after giving birth are messy. I believe they have maternity only gowns and I'm going to keep believing that. (Don't at me straight.) Also, I don't want to get home from the hospital with a ton of laundry. I did make sure to bring a pen though. That was important.
I was too tired to move or work or eat last night so didn't do things I needed to. I've been awake since 4:30 So my day is going to be rough. I'll be exhausted while trying to catch up on a ton of work. Ugh.
I cannot stop laughing from last night. We put a candy bowl out on the porch with a sign to take a few pieces so that we could watch the World Series uninterrupted after we got back from taking DS trick-or-treating. We have Ring, so the motion sensor would record anyone at our door. DH would open it each time and most of the kids were good. A group of older kids came up and starting loading handfuls into the bowl and DH used the talk feature to says, "Only take a few pieces, please. You don't need to take that much." It totally freaked the kids out and they screamed and ran away and the two of us were cracking up for a good 10 minutes.
I stayed home today. My blood sugars dropped really low last night after trick or treating and I had a hard time keeping them up and not passing out. I'm going to check out Target's clearance today to stock candy for my classroom and maybe some costumes for dress up as Christmas presents for the toddler.
I am excited because I sold our old car last night for $1500! It was a 2007 and was totaled from hail damage, but still ran great. When we wanted to trade it in, they were only going to give us $300.
I packed my bag a week before my due date and would have packed it later except LO was def on her way. We made it to the hospital with. Or a lot of time to spare lol
With my first, I didn’t pack my bag until I was in labor. That was a big mistake, as my Labor was extremely fast Haha! I thought I’d have hours to lounge around the house! I have to say, as far as prepping for baby, I think the most important thing to do is get your house and car nice and clean and organized. That way, if there is some sort of an emergency, you won’t me mortified if your friend neighbor has to go over to feed the dog or pick up your toothbrush.
@suchaglencoco I also noticed that. I guess maybe she found a different site that was more suited to her opinions.
I had had a bag packed early with DS but again, we were told at 26 weeks we might send you to the hospital at any time. We had to go a few times but always went home later that night. But I agree I just need some comfy pants and a nursing tank or two with an sweater, a toothbrush and hair tie. I feel like closer to the due date I can pack anything else I think I really might need. And since it'll be baby 2 I figure DH will be going back home each night too. I also don't feel the need to set up a bassinet or bouncy seat yet. I feel like those will only take about an hour to do so we still have time!
Also different random completely, but someone stole my defensive team in my fantasy football league. They had a bye last week so I had to swap them out and then someone woke up early this morning to take them. Grrr.
@theletlers, I am hoping that was it and not that she suffered a loss or that her island went underwater. We still have our bouncer and swing put together from our last babies, they're just stored in the basement. I'm sure when we tackle the spare room to nursery I'll bring them out just to fill up the room more. It's odd to think about doing this all again!
@suchaglencoco agreed! We have things still set up, just in the downstairs closet. I looked at the swing today and thought how weird it's going to be in the living room again.
