I really need to get this senioritis thing under control at work stat. I could have 7+ weeks still and I am getting less and less productive each day. Whoops.
Ugh, this weekend/today are spiraling downward and at this point I can only laugh.
Yesterday our toilet shit the bed (gross pun totally intended) and now in order to use it we have to fiddle with the gasket inside the tank every single time. I had just put a bleach tablet in the tank on Friday, so gloves required each time, as well. So that sucks for a constantly-peeing pregnant woman. Then our neighbor's huge pine tree fell down across the road last night at midnight and knocked out the power to the whole block. The boom followed by sudden dead silence (DH has to sleep with the fan on) woke us up and we couldn't get back to sleep till past 2. Then a crew started chainsawing the tree at 5, and pushed the top part of the tree into our yard, basically right up to our front door (it missed my car in the driveway by inches). So we have a tree in the front yard, powerlines lying across the road, a dark bathroom with a broken toilet, a fridge full of food (since we just went stock-up grocery shopping yesterday), NGrid saying they have no idea when we'll have power again, and I'm running on a few hours' sleep and having massive BH & back pain.
@djd0404 Oh no, that all sounds awful! Hopefully they get the power back on soon and get that tree out of your yard!
So this weekend was our baby shower at the IL's. We hadn't seen them since early July, and both SILs were like, "Omg you're so tiny! You look like *cousin* when she was like 2 months pregnant!" I didn't really mind because 1. 2 months pregnant was definitely an exaggeration, 2. I'm significantly taller than cousin and with a long torso, so baby has more room to stretch upward, 3. I assume they're talking about cousin's second pregnancy, so being an STM and all she probably did get bigger.
I then had a lady at the airport say, after I told her my due date, that I was so small she thought I'd say I was due in April! But she was really sweet and said her oldest is a girl and is super helpful, and she was like, "Oh, I have to show you a picture!" and she did and said her children are her greatest joys. It was pretty precious. Lol.
So swollen. My vag feels/looks like I someone hit me with a baseball bat. I can feel his head right there, the pressure is terrible. I can't believe I have to do this for another month. FML.
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
Omfg @djd0404 WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Hang in there and try to eat everything before it goes bad. AFM, I’ve got an Appt with my OB today, and I’m totally going to get her to sign off on temporary handicap placard. So excited. Then I have a million loads of baby laundry to do. And I’m going to hit up the target baby essentials sale and buy hella shit. Yesssssss!
@djd0404 Oh, hell, no. I think I'd give up on Monday and go right back to bed. FTS. I hope your week improves quickly from here!
I did my first load of baby clothes laundry yesterday... I don't think I'll ever be that excited to do the kid's laundry ever again. But it feels momentous now. Also, my hips ache in weird ways and I expect/assume it'll only get worse over the next month. And I'm effing exhausted all the time. I took an AM and a PM nap yesterday, and still feel like I didn't get enough sleep. Not really sure how that's going to work out during the work week.
@breezybee I have the paperwork for the temp handicap pass all filled out and ready for my appointment on Wednesday! I just have to remember to give it to them! Also, there were a bunch of cartwheel discounts that I was able to use in conjunction with that Target baby essentials sale that saved me even more money, so make sure to check those out!

Me too! I’m at 5.5 but it’s getting so hard to give even 80%, sure not 100
I'm so done at work. Like I'm physically there the rest of this week but I told my staff to pretend I'm not so I can clean everything up in my office...I didn't touch a thing in my office today. I'm hoping I'm more inclined to do some work when I start working from Home next week
Had my OB appointment today. DD1 lost her mind when he pulled the tape measure out to measure my belly someone is going to have a hard time sharing mommy with her baby sister. STM+ moms, how did you go about siblings being super attached? I can't even go to the bathroom alone.
@splsmama2016 DD is 18 months old and has always been freakishly independent. But over the past 2-3 weeks she's gotten so clingy - half the time she doesn't even want DH and she's a HUGE daddy's girl. It's like she knows something is changing and I have no idea how I'm going to handle her when LO gets here.
@Skcobb@splsmama2016 DS is definitely more clingy to me lately than normal. I've just been trying to ignore it when I can, for example, DH and I alternate putting him to bed, but lately he's been fighting DH, so I just let him do it anyway. He usually settles down as soon as they get into his room and start reading stories. He has to learn that just because he wants me doesn't mean he can have me, especially if there's another loving parent or caregiver around to care for him. It is really hard and I feel bad but I know it's for the best in the long run.
So went to my 31 wk appt today. Am officially 31w2d. When she measured me she would said I was measuring almost 33 weeks. I know truly it means nothing in the big scheme of things of when I might deliver it's just sending me in a panic. I'm due 12/31 and just have this sneaking suspicion this kiddo may be a Christmas Eve or Christmas baby!
@maddilatti My OB constantly reminds us that the tape measure thing is at least plus/minus two weeks from whatever they measure you at... so I wouldn't worry too much if you're measuring a little ahead or a little behind. Even the U/S for estimating weight has a surprising amount of inaccuracy. Think of it more like a "guideline", maybe?
@kyrwyn I'm a second time mama and should know better than to get the least bit stressed because I literally walked around 3 CM dilated for almost 4 weeks before DD arrived. They were shocked I didn't deliver early but instead went to 40+3. I'm fine with baby being delivered whenever as long as they are healthy just know I will be somewhat sad if I miss out on my DD's Christmas.
@splsmama2016 My DS is 2 and has always been attached to me, but it’s getting way worse. It also doesn’t help that my DH has been gone at the fire academy Monday - Friday since August and isn’t done until 3 days before my due date. He’s also been asking me to be picked up and carried way more than usual. I’m having a RCS so I’m not going to be able to pick him up and I’m really worried about how he will react.
Anyone else been lurking the Nov 17 birth announcements thread? There's been a consistent stream of them this week! We are SO CLOSE! I wonder when our first baby will be born?
@failuretofly I’ve been avoiding their BMB for that reason! Lol. As much as I’m down to pop soon, I’ll keep her in there a few more weeks. I just can’t wat to start seeing all the new squishes as they come!!
Omg old people on Facebook. DH's grandma posted a picture of DH's cousin yesterday. She then shared her own post of that picture today. I thought that was bad...but I was just scrolling through my feed and she posted a picture of DH's other cousin and her daughter 2 minutes ago. Then right below that post was her sharing that post...1 minute ago. What do you think you're accomplishing, lady? I just don't get it. Lol.

This is so dd right now. She went through a horrible clingy spell about a month ago. Now we’re decorating the nursery and we’ve taken her rocker and changing table out. It has cramped her bedtime routine. She used to just go to bed. Now it’s a fight and struggle every night. DH is losing all patience and I feel guilty. I hear it’s only worse when the baby arrives.
I'm in shock that November is here. I am so not ready. We've been told to expect a Nov baby, because of the GD and our Dec 1 due date ... that was all well and good in October. Now it's way too soon.
Add me for another "holy shit, it's November" mama. Seriously. How did this happen? Was September just completely skipped this year because I certainly don't remember anything about it.
C'mon November! I'm not freaking out at all- just feeling ready and excited! Plus, I'm starting to get really uncomfortable and ready to get this baby out of me. I'm not due until Dec. 20, so I still have a while to go, but everything's basically ready for baby girl's arrival!
Okay so I was searching TB community about birth plans because I couldn't remember if we had a thread, and came across this gem from 2009 and boy is it dramatic.

I lost it when someone suggested leaving their birth plan in a basket of treats for the nurses "Oh how nice, cookies, these are awesome! Who are they from, let's check the note.... wait what the fuck?"

@failuretofly yes, I've been waiting for someone to post that they had the first baby and hoping like hell it's not me. I was the first to post in my last bump group (but not the first baby actually). I've been reading Novembers too, they had quite a few in October!
