Re: TTCAL Week of 10/30
WTO. CD9 US today to see follicles and determine if more meds are necessary and schedule IUI
its Monday....hate them!
As as a kid my mom made our costumes and one year I was Queen of Hearts. I’m not creative so I buy costumes. As an adult my favorite is pebbles from the flint stones....I was wearing that costume when I met my DH. It was also handmade as it was something I wore in high school for a dance team and then added a few pieces to make it pebbles.
CD3.
I wish i could be exited about fall and Halloween this week- but I’m a mess. I can baldly hold it together with my loss EDD tomorrow. I’ve decided to “work from home” tomorrow. There is a pretty awesome fall festival going on now that has taken over the city- it’s a lot of fun. AND thanksgiving is in just a few weeks!
I was pippi longstocking a few years ago- I have long hair and had long pigtails standing on my head and all- it was a lot of fun.
@Mack2342 good luck with your appointment!!
2. CD5 - first cycle after my septate removal.
3. Rave: Had a great weekend in Maine. Glad we didn't lose power here, since it seems a lot of the state lost it
Rant: Excited to be able to try again after 6 months on the bench, but with my loss history, so nervous to move forward. I really need to distance myself from social media and use the unfollow button as well - too much of the picture perfect family posts going on right now with growing their family announcements, cute family theme costumes, expensive family trips, and new mansions that everyone is building/buying. Even though I know behind every picture isn't a perfect and easy road and I am happy with what I have, for some reason I can't shake the jealousy.
4. I dressed up as a troll a while back in college and spent hours getting all of my hair to stick up straight.
@Mack2342 Queen of Hearts sounds awesome. Homemade costumes are the best
@jchpg Loss EDD are hard. Glad you have the option to WFH.

2. WTO. CD3
3. Rave: Calling this morning to schedule my HSG. Excited to get that done so I can actually start some treatments!
Rant: Planning for the holidays and realizing that I really only have 1 more cycle to get a BFP before Christmas (I’ll only be about 9dpo on Christmas). Don’t want to deal with Christmas not being pregnant, especially not Christmas morning with nieces and nephews. I feel like a Scrooge, but there it is. So BFP in November, we go to the in-laws. BFN we stay home and Grinch it up!
4. I don’t usually get dressed up for Halloween. It’s so expensive for something you just wear once. I did go to a Halloween wedding a few years ago where costumes were mandatory. I went as Ursula from Little Mermaid. That was a pretty cool costume.
@Mack2342 FX for some beautiful good-sized follicles!
@jchpgMilestones are hard and this journey is littered with them. Do whatever your heart needs to do to make it through tomorrow.
@honeybeebub I’ve never hesitated to keep trying, but I get your emotional reservations. The only thing worse than a BFN is another loss. I wish that I had a crystal ball so I could know if all this hurting and worrying will be worth it in the end... hope is what motivates me and what disappoints me. But until it goes away completely, I’ve gotta stay in this fight. As for Facebook, the jealousy is normal, so do NOT feel guilty about it! Unfollow/unfriend/throw your computer out a window... it’s ok to limit what you allow into your life.
2. TWW 10 DPO.
3. Rave: Going out to my favorite breakfast place this morning with my BIL. He can't drive and wants to go so I'm taking him and he's paying. Woo.
Rant: EDD with loss #1 is this Friday. Luckily this is a very busy week for me. Hoping to stay distracted.
4. When DH and I were dating we and some of his friends went bar hopping as the saved by the bell group. It was pretty entertaining.
@jchpg so sorry your loss date is here too.
@honeybeebub glad you're off the bench!
@Mack2342 hope your US goes well!
2. Status? CD 4; Hysteroscope and endometrial biopsy sometime in the next week to check on the ol' ute. Trying naturally while we wait for RE to let us know if we snagged an early IVF spot for November or December.
3. Rants/Raves Excited that tomorrow is Halloween...and also that in 2 days I can start celebrating Christmas lol
4. GTKY: What your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever dressed up as? I've gone as a witch (my fav costume) every year since high school except for last year when I was a vampire. My grandmother made me the most beautiful Little Red Riding Hood costume with a velvet cape when I was 9 and I thought that was pretty sweet.
@Mack2342 Good luck at the follie check! Here's to hoping for a few good ones!
@jchpg Thinking of you as your loss EDD approaches. It was such a hard day for me so I know how you feel. Glad you are able to "work" from home and take some time for yourself.
@honeybeebub Glad you had an awesome weekend away! I hear you on the jealousy. It is such an ugly green monster but I just cannot shake it for the life of me. It sucks.
@leahcimmichael I feel the same way about Christmas. I had to go in to Carter's last week and I almost burst into tears when I saw the sweet little frilly Christmas dresses. I *should* have a chubby little 6 month old to dress up this Christmas, but instead, I have no baby and an empty uterus. Here's to hoping both of us are KU by Christmas (BTW, I just realized that we both have the exact same loss timeline...). Love your advice "...it's OK to limit what you allow into your life" - brilliant. I need to remember this.
@Kath525 Enjoy your breakfast! Thinking of you this week as you come up on your EDD for your first loss. These milestones are so tough.

14dpo and waiting for AF to show her stupid face.
Rants: I'm really struggling today. I had such high hopes that this was thee cycle finally. I had an onslaught of symptoms that I never have, but alas my body is a total jerk. I want AF to just show up so I can move on with the next cycle, but I'm exhausted from the process. I am wondering if that's in conjunction with knowing I have two cycles left before we're throwing in the towel so I'm starting to wrap my head around the reality that it just isn't in the cards. One BFP over the course of 22 completed cycles. I'd be a fool to believe that it'll happen in the next two.
Rave: I had a great Friday in the woods with DH. Came home with a decent buck and food in the freezer, which we really needed. I'm glad that rifle opener is this weekend and that will add to it. I don't do rifle hunting, but DH does. We're staying at a local casino that does super cheap rooms during the hunting season if you show them your license, which here is pretty much all the time. The snow is beautiful here and I'm ready to be a shut-in so it's great timing.
I don't really have a favorite that I ever wore. I love Halloween and my family has always made a big deal out of it as well. I sew, so I have never bought a costume at the store. For what they cost I can make it for half the cost and twice the quality. I think my favorite ones to make have been for kids, which were a Cinderella ballgown and Buzz Lightyear. They were super fun to make and even more fun to see the kids light up when they put them on.
Rant - The closer I get to the end of the year the less hope I have that it will happen naturally but for the most part I'm in a good state of mind. I'm kind of over timed BD so we are just going to go with the flow the rest of the year. The last 2 months I was more stressed out trying to make sure we got EOD and if we didn't I'd stress that we'd miss something. I just don't want to do that anymore and it's not like it's actually helped us get pregnant lol.
Rave - booked a 3 hour gig at a family tree nursery next week. Next week will be busy with 2 gigs and 11 students. Both gigs are corporate functions where we are just basically background music. So obviously we will be playing xmas music. I just can't believe it's that time of year again. But I gotta keep focused and not think about the loss from last year. This is a new year with new memories.
GTKY - my mom made most of my costumes growing up. I remember snow white and dorothy were my favorites.
2. Status? WTO CD 5! Still benched... but progesterone biopsy this cycle!
3. Rants/Raves Um, storms are making my head hurt. I hate that my federal insurance doesn't cover IVF, and think I'm going to be an advocate pushing for OPM mandatnts.verage for IVF and other infertility treatments.
4. GTKY: What your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever dressed up as? My mom made me a pilgrim outfit that I loved!
jchpg I love working from home! It definitely helps my mental stress with RPL. I hope you have a decent telework day and don’t get overly upset about your EDD.
honeybeebub Good luck with the trying again. And the ‘unfollow’ button on FB has been my best friend!
tosh24 Uh… there’s actually a holiday between Halloween and Christmas. Ya know, Thanksgiving. Unless of course, you’re not American, and then well, we’ll forgive you (and do you allow weird internet visitors to come sleep on your couch?) LOL

2. Status: Second cycle TTC this time around, my period was due tomorrow, I had no real PMS symptoms, so I was getting hopeful, then bam, just got back from the bathroom where I had to scrounge up a free pad because it came out of nowhere. I guess this month isn't a conception. :-(
3. Rants/raves: Excited that the fall weather is finally settling in. I love wearing jackets and light scarves!
4: My favorite Halloween costume was in my early 20's when I went as "Batgirl, the TV version". There were lots of bat girls that year, but I was the only "TV version" LOL. I attached big bright word bubbles like "BAM" and "POW" to my purse that I could hold up, it was hilarious.

4. GTKY: What your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever dressed up as? I always loved just being a witch. DH is really anti witches and most aspects of Halloween so instead I am dressing up as a cat. Booo!
@leahcimmichael - GL with the HSG
@kath525 - EDDs can be so hard just to get thru
@tosh24 - I'm really hoping you get that IVF cycle
@dpjennifer - GL with the progesterone biopsy. How is that different than the progesterone blood draw?
@EleighMay - sorry you're having a tough time with your remaining cycles. I hope one of those 2 proves to be a miracle
My coworker who has also dealt with infertility for 10+ years just came into my office to give me a heads up that one of the young, newly married girls in the office is pregnant....with spontaneous twins. My coworker is very open about her infertility journey so the pregnant coworker pulled her aside before she announced to everyone else so that my coworker was not blindsided. She is super sweet for doing that (she's super sweet in general). I am not open about my journey at all so my coworker slipped into my office afterward to let me know as well so that I didn't find out at a staff meeting or something where I couldn't have a good cry. I hate that such good news has to have a such a black cloud hanging over it all the time when I'm involved....

@honeybeebub glad for first cycle.
@leahcimmichael glad you are getting HSG. Hopefully you get that BFP before the holidays. I hope we all do!
@Kath525 distraction worked well for my first EDD. I’m hoping it does the same for the 2nd in two weeks. Hugs to you
@ELeighMay I’m sorry this cycle is working out for you. FX for the next one!
@dpjennifer my fed insurance doesn’t cover it either. It has however covered most of my IUIs and most of the medication
@MandyMost sorry for AF
@vlagrl29 congrats on progesterone
AFM, had US this morning. 4 follicles! That is the most I have had since starting this process. I still need a couple more days of meds but IUI is Friday.
@jchpg At least I was cool before the trolls movie released, haha.
@leahcimmichael I agree with you. I guess after seeing myself emotionally with 3 losses, I’m scared for what 4 would do to me. And then again, some days I’m completely positive knowing that I’m doing things differently now so the outcome could be different and I could have a rainbow baby. It’s definitely not a stable thing and my outlook on things vary minute by minute. Hopefully we’ll get there and never need hope for this again.
@Kath525 Hope you had a good breakfast!
@tosh24 I’d be willing to say that jealousy is worse now because of the access to everything on social media. That was so nice of your co-workers to give you the heads up. It’s even harder when the person who is pregnant, in any other situation, you would have been happy for. I hate that RPL has ripped all the good out of things.
@eleighmay Sorry for you tough day. It sounds like you did have a great weekend and have great plans for the next too!
@vlagrl29 Glad that your levels came back great!
@dpjennifer I can’t wait for you to be un-benched with me next month (since we’ve been warming awhile together)
@mandymost Welcome, it’s definitely hard not to let it consume you, so if it hasn’t keep doing what you’re doing!
@robyn2201 I’m happy for you for colder weather. 102 just does not sound enjoyable at all!

3. Rants/Raves - I hate that my cycles post loss don’t want to be ‘normal’, and that I’m still waiting to ovulate. I know others have it much worse, but I just want to be able to move forward and can’t if I’m perpetually waiting to ovulate. On a positive note, we have had gorgeous weather the last week, which is unusual for this time of year here. Glad we got a few more days of sunshine before the rain comes, and it will still be nice tomorrow for Halloween!
4. GTKY: What your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever dressed up as? Ugh I’m so boring when it comes to costumes. I think I was little bo peep one year as a kid, and I liked that costume. Otherwise, I can barely remember any of my costumes.
@jchpg so sorry about your loss EDD. Definitely take tomorrow for yourself and give yourself some time for whatever you need.
@honeybeebub social media can be so rough sometimes, but I just tell myself that it’s a false sense of reality, because people are selectively posting the positive things in their lives.
@leahcimmichael yay for your HSG!
@Kath525 yum! Breakfast is my favorite, hope it was yummy! And sorry about your loss EDD coming up. Just take it easy on yourself this week.
@tosh24 I would love having a ‘Christmas season’ as long as it is in Canada. I love Christmas!
@eleighmay sorry you’re feeling down this cycle. I was really rooting for you this time!
@vlagrl29 hopefully you can keep your positive frame of mind for the next few cycles. And yay for your progesterone!
@dpjennifer hope your progesterone biopsy goes well.
@MandyMost sorry this isn’t your month. I love fall weather too with jackets/sweatshirts and scarves!
@robyn2201 ugh 102 sounds awful. I’m with you on the curling up with a cup of tea in the cooler weather.
tosh24 That was so kind of your coworker to give you a heads up before you heard the announcement.
robyn2201 102!! I would never last in that heat.
honeybeebub and @dpjennifer Yay for the un-benched life! That's great that you'll both be back in the game next cycle.
Mack2342 I hope by Thanksgiving you're outta here! FX crossed for your IUI on Friday.
2. Status? TWW
3. Rant: I have another UTI. Despite my neurotic adherence to all the tricks, I'm getting them basically every 3 months now. Ugh! Rave: I'm baking pumpkin muffins right now and the whole house smells like fall! And the weather is finally more fall-like, it was only 85 degrees today!
4. GTKY: I was Morticia from the Addams Family one year as a kid. I loved that costume!
@dpjennifer I feel you on the federal insurance not covering IF. Let me know if you need another federal employee for support in your campaign against OPM!
@leahcimmichael Good luck with your HSG - mine was a breeze and it was nice to rule stuff out.
@jchpg I'm so sorry about your upcoming EDD. Mine from my first loss was just last week. Take care of yourself.
@ELeighMay My Mom always said being hopeful is never foolish. I sympathize with you, though. Hang in there.
@Mack2342 4 follies is GREAT! Good luck with your IUI Friday.

I was benched for so long because although my inital RPL testing showed a septate, the RE wanted to get all results back, did an HSG and then an SHG to diagnose, despite the fact that it was on the initial ultrasound. This all took months because the HSG and SHG can only be done on day 5-12 of your cycle so we lost at least 2 months there. Then due to scheduling issues at the clinic they weren't able to do the surgery the next cycle. I finally consulted my original OB's office to do the removal. They were able to schedule me in a few days and he was shocked that the RE wasted so much time since it was clear from Day 1. Still leaves an incredibly bitter taste in my mouth knowing how much time, money, and effort was wasted.
Anyways, septates are pretty rare and only impact about 3% of women (I believe). Please let her know she can reach out to me or you can tag me in the other board. I have a few good resources and other boards that helped me understand it that I can share with her. The search information out there is unfortunately pretty scarce.

3. Rants/Raves
So this is my first month with FF. I am temping, recording CM and symptoms, and I am also using OPK. So my OPK gave me the smiley face on CD10 (which is kind of early for me) and my CM was corresponding to that, we BD that night and the next night (for good measure). On CD9 my temp was 96.9. My temps have been going up and ranging in 97.1-97.7 (CD10-CD17). During that time my FF said that intercourse timing was good, and had the % of the symptoms that I was charting (bloated, spotting, etc...). So today, my temp shot up to 98.2 and FF gave me a pop up that said FF re-assessed the interpretation and that my ovulation day moved from CD11 to CD15 and it is telling me that intercourse timing is low. The problem is that I have a hard time charting my temp at the same time every day. I work 3 12 hour shifts so get up really early on those days (4:45am) but on my days off I usually sleep in. Today I kind of forgot about my temp when I first woke up and started playing on my cell phone (checking FB, responding to texts) and then I checked. Anyone have any ideas?
4. GTKY: What your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever dressed up as?
I think that my favorite Halloween costume was when I dressed up as a "drama queen" or 80's rocker girl.
@Mack2342 Hope your appt went well.
@honeybeebub Do you live in NH? I live in central NH, thankfully I did not loose power but the storm kept me up all night on Sunday.
@jchpg Sorry that your loss EDD is here, that is so hard. Good idea to work from home.
@leahcimmichael Fingers crossed you get a BFP for Christmas
@Kath525 Sorry your loss EDD is coming up this week.
@Tosh24 I was asking people at work yesterday if it is socially acceptable to put up my Christmas tree on Nov 1, I got a lot of No's, but I think that I am going to put it up early this year
@ELeighMay Fingers crossed for you in the next two cycles
@vlagrl29 Good luck with your gigs and yay for playing Christmas music. And that is awesome about your prog results
@dpjennifer Good luck with your progesterone biopsy, I have never heard of that how is that done (surgical, blood work)? P.S. Love your siggy, so funny.
@MandyMost That is a great idea with the word bubbles for your Halloween costume.
@robyn2201 Wow 102 is so hot, yay for cooler weather (I do like the heat though, but even 102 is too hot for me)
@pumpkinpancake I hope that your cycle normalizes soon, that is frustrating.
@sprkls8506 Oh no, hopefully your power will come back on soon.
@cassafrass15 Yumm, pumpkin muffins sound awesome.
@fishee333 That costume sounds so fun, and so great that you got to spray people all night!

2. Status? CD 13 here and that’s about all I know! Going to TTC leisurely this month, no temping, no OPK, just good old fashion BD. although, however I did pick up preseed! I read great reviews so we’ve been using that this month.
3. Rants/Raves: November is making me a bit sad this year since my EDD is this coming weekend. Rant over, rave, getting out of town for it
4. GTKY: What your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever dressed up as? Hmm probably an old lady. My mom put baby powder in my hair and I thought it was so cool that it looked grey.
FX to us ladies for BFPs this month! And congratulations @sprkls8506! I hope you have a happy, healthy and boring 9 months!!!
Been trying since 8/2016. Got a BFP in June, MC 7/19/17. Second loss was 10/15/17 after some faint positives earlier in the week and a BFP on 10/13/17. I have now officially had 3 MCs. I have PCOS and I'm on Metformin. We are at the point of trying to decide how much we want to invest in TTC. I will schedule an appointment for a recurring MC panel and go from there. I am extremely discouraged right now though and really feeling like throwing in the towel. I am fairly certain this is just a phase.
