Good morning!
This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.
Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can update.

Re: 2nd Trimester Check In For The Week of October 30th
My next appointment is with my Ob on Thursday for another cervical check ultrasound. Hoping to see baby girls face this time as shes been hiding it the last 2 ultrasounds.
I still feel tired and huge and uncomfortable with back pains on the roght like baby girl is digging in my back.
QOTW: i hope to pass on the traditions of everyone opening 1 gift on Christmas eve and Christmas morning one person playing Santa to pass out all the gifts. There are many more but ill just name those..
Those that had appointments or ultrasounds last week...how did everything go?
I had an apt with the PA today and then a heart echo right afterwards. She was very busy today. She kept her hands up on her face again like she usually does so it kept casting a shadow on her heart so they had to work on that. Everything looked great. We have both been busy gaining weight lol I've gained 11lbs in a month AHH and she has plumped up to the 61 percentile 1lbs 8oz and on track now. Next apt isn't until Nov 14th and it's with my OB only to go over the ultrasound that was done today.
I really actually didn't need to stress the full bladder thing. The nurse told me to ignore instructions that say full bladder but I was fine today.
QOTD: For Thanksgiving we like to open our home to more than family we have a lot of close friends that we serve and even some friends that just don't have anywhere else to go. For Christmas I believe I'd like to pass down going to Christmas Eve service. It's pretty important to me.

Caught a cold so fighting that right now.
QOTW: I hope to pass along traditions of opening a gift on Christmas eve and baking cookies with family.
@momma6angels11 sorry you're feeling uncomfortable I hope you get to see baby girls face this week!
@rel_1987 hope you feel better
@thucks I agree that 28 weeks/starting the third trimester feels like the next big milestone! I was looking forward to 20 weeks for so long that now 40 weeks feels impossibly far away!! I'm trying to look at smaller milestones along the way and looking forward to holidays to keep me busy.
QOTW: We always had a special breakfast on Christmas morning with baked goods using family recipes from my great grandma. I'd love to carry that on with my children My dad also loved the Beatles and growing up we'd play the Beatle's birthday song when we had cake. It would be fun to do that one, too!

I'm nervous with the Twins I only went to 35 weeks but that was cause of preclampsia. I feel like my due date will be around 35 weeks for this baby just cause of history, if that makes sense.

As far as traditions are concerned I guess theres a few. I'm originally from Canada so i'd love to celebrate those holidays with my kids. Also, the present christmas eve is another one I love!
Feeling kind of off this week, not sure if anyone else has felt this way. I feel awkward announcing my pregnancy to people. It's overwhelming for me, all the advice, well wishes, questions etc. I feel like I want to hide it but I can't anymore since it's pretty obvious! My sister in laws (who all have multiple kids) are being so sweet wanting to talk about it all non stop but I can't deal it's too much! Its so sweet of them to want to give me their stuff but I kinda want to feel like I have a say in what I take, and how I want to parent! End rant! Maybe next week will be better!

@meredithj123 I also agree with @thucks and @momma6angels11 about accepting used things and setting them aside if you're not sure how you feel about it. I'm also getting some old stuff from my SIL that I'm not sure if I want or not. You can always register for the version you want, but for me I felt like who knows how much will be purchased from our registry, so it's good to have the hand me downs just in case! But it's definitely a hard transition to being showered with positive attention after going through such efforts and heartache to get pregnant. I also felt awkward because I kept my fertility issues very private and was very guarded about my pregnancy since I had a hard time believing it was actually happening. I think it gets easier as you move along.

I am also feeling super weird about announcing the pregnancy...just about everyone I actually talk to already knows, and I definitely think it's obvious! But I haven't told Facebook yet. When I was doing IVF, I kept telling myself that I was going to start a blog and talk about everything (i've also kinda been meaning to for years cause people ask me for recipes and cooking advice a LOT, but I figured this would kinda be the launcher) cause infertility is scary and lonely and people need to know more about it, and if I have friends who are silently suffering then I want them to talk to me!!! But now...I'm torn between hating the idea of sharing my life with the world, and remembering how incredibly helpful it was to have my one friend who had gone through IVF and could tell me what to expect and help me to keep hoping and believing that my miracle would come. Gah. Life is hard.
Anyway...QOTW: this will be interesting for us. My husband is Asian/Polynesian, and I am American, but was raised much more European, so we will probably do a lot of starting new traditions. I do love the Christmas Eve present, and we typically do pajamas, and I think I may add a book or movie as well. Also, we will definitely continue going to my grandma's for Christmas dinner. She always gives us literal mountains of presents (everyone gets 15-30 depending on sizes of things), and she is even more excited about the twins than my mom is, so those children will be VERY spoiled!
Thank you all for being a great support system! Love and prayers for all of you!
