I read "The Little Book of Hygge" a month of so ago. It's all about why and how the Danish are such happy people. Hygge translates into "comfy cozy" essentially. Those small, warm moments that just feel good. Slipping into a bed of clean sheets, the first sip of a warm drink on a cold day, being snuggled in a blanket and reading a book. The flicker of a candle. Etc etc.
I've been purposely looking for and thinking about all those little moments in my day to day. They may be quick- but they're there, Everyday, and I've just been too "busy" to stop and notice.
A few things I've been savoring, sunrises/sunsets, big sweaters on cold mornings, and drinking lots of hot spiced cider.
@LDSJM123 I love that! Fall is a great time to savor the comfy cozy moments too
@kmurdock925 Yay!!! Hope your first US goes great!!
Mine is that baby girl is growing fast and has been kicking up a storm the last week, which is exciting! She’s measuring ahead and is bigger than P was, and that’s encouraging because at her anatomy scan they pre-diagnosed her with micrognathia (underdeveloped chin, possible indicator of a few different syndromes and usually causes breathing/feeding issues in newborns) and my OB said the fact that she’s measuring big might be a good sign that she won’t end up having it. We go back to confirm the diagnosis with another scan in November, but I’m feeling hopeful for good news! Though I’m really glad that even if she does for sure have it the MFM doc is super on top of it and already has all the specialists lined up to meet us before delivery and they will be present when she’s born. So she will be in awesome hands if she does need the extra care!

In thinking about the small things, I realized when it was the first cool and crisp night walking out of work that I was taking deep breaths through my nose and it felt so refreshing! I LOVE crisp cold weather it seems to help calm me down during our busy weeks.
My awesome of the week is Hocus Pocus. It's always been my favorite Halloween movie (although the romantic "can I keep you" scene keeps Casper near the top!) and I finally got to watch it this week! I can quote those Sanderson sisters word for word and it makes my heart happy.
@winnie1122 I've been wondering how you and baby are doing! Hope she continues to grow so it's not a problem, but glad you have a good care team just in case
AFM, I've officially decided to not go back to work after little man is born. I'm very at peace with it (only working a max of 12 hours/week and hate my job) and just trying to think of ways to make money at home so I can still contribute financially. But I'm really looking forward to being a SAHM, it's been my dream since I was little and I can't wait!
@winnie1122 - you have a great outlook/mindset on what is going on! It would be so easy to go down a dark rabbit hole with anything unknown but you're rocking it. Congrats/good luck! Keep us posted
@schaze - So exciting!! Congrats! That is amazing for you
@schaze Thanks! And I’m glad you get to stay home, it’s the best! I’m supposed to be making money while I stay home too but I’m not very good at it (I try though!) and even with the massive cuts we made to our budget it’s been so worth it to be able to be home. Now if we could just get freaking health insurance...that’s a whole other can of worms ugh.
@kmurdock925 Thanks! I’m hoping I can still be positive about it if it gets confirmed, I may just be riding the optimism train right now because it is scary to think about it actually being a thing. I’ll keep you posted!

Thinking good thoughts for all these pregancies in each of their stages. You ladies are all kinds of awesome! Being pregnant and caring for a toddler exhausts me just thinking about it!!!
I LOVE cool fall mornings/nights! We've still had some record daytime temps bit enjoying the mornings and evenings very much.
Mine os my husband remind me Yeaterday that his work was doing a trick or treat thing and desperately wanted me to bring L. I threw together a costume with buying nothing more than colored Pom poms! And it was a plus that we scored some awesome organic food pouches. Paid for the poms hahaha!!
@winnie1122 If you’re in the care of a MFM, you’re in great hands. They are the most magical of doctors. Neither I, nor my babies, would be here without the care of my MFM team. Also, some of the things they see on anatomy scans resolve themselves. Ruby had a cyst on her brain at our 20 week, which can be indicative of all sorts of terrible things, but it resolved on its own and she’s perfectly healthy. Sending all the positive thoughts to you.
My awesome of the week is how grateful I am for amazing insurance and a great medical team. I had a breast lumpectomy today and from start to finish, the whole terrible ordeal was tolerable thanks to an amazing team of doctors and nurses, and affordable thanks to our insurance. Go to those yearly check ups ladies! I would have never found the lump on my own.
@shanparadise glad your okay and yes for those annuals!
So happy to hear all the pregnancy updates. Keep us posted.
My awesome this week would be J. She now interacts with all the kids. It makes stroller strides so much easier. She'll play and laugh and share. It just makes me so happy.
For those that don't have me on IG I have another awesome to add - Dunkin Donut's Frozen Hot Chocolate! A super delicious oxy-moron...it's all the wonderful flavor of hot chocolate without the burned tongue
I went to my friend's wedding out of town leaving Elijah with my husband at home. It was so much fun and feels great to know that we will all be okay if we take a night apart from each other!!!
I got all of Halloween taken down and put away and half of thanksgiving decor put up. Including two special projects just need to get another foot or two of burlap to finish off the wreath! (The blank canvases will be filled in the coming weeks with Thanksgiving hand/footprint art with AJ)
Super cute @FTM53! I was pretty boring this year and just put out a couple garlands and fall scented candles. But I’m super pumped to decorate for Christmas!! I’m working on getting my Etsy shop ready for Christmas so I’ve been making ornament samples so it feels like it should be Christmas already haha.

Wooow!! @FTM53 I love that you go strong for all three fall/winter holidays!! We do lots for Halloween but then leave it up until it's time for Christmas, haha! Which for us, starts about midway through November.
Ha, my Thanksgiving/ Fall décor consists entirely of placemats for the "formal" dining room, ie: never used...that I sewed a few weeks ago that have leaves on one side and holly on the other so I can quickly flip over come the day after T-giving.
@FTM53 Do you want to come decorate my house?? Fall usually goes up in September with any jack-o-lanterns facing the wall so they can't be seen, then they're flipped for October, and flipped back for November LOL! Christmas I try my best to wait until after Thanksgiving. I work in the corporate office of a company that owns 20 retail locations so our stores are already prepping to have Christmas up no later than the 15th! We do a big "angel tree" like campaign for 14 local families that I've been the co-lead on and this year I'm the lead so I get burned out before we even get started with Christmas.
Omg I just had to run to Joann’s for some painting supplies and it was like Christmas had exploded in there. Not even an honorary fall aisle left! Everyone will be burnt out on Christmas before December at this rate. As much as I’m looking forward to it I’m not ready to completely skip the rest of fall!

I'm itching to get my Christmas decor out too, but I won't. 1. Because we cut our treee down and I don't know if it would survive that long and 2. As much as I love (and go pretty all out) my Christmas stuff, by January 1, I'm ready to have my uncluttered house back.
Oh I am the exact opposite, HAHA! After having so much fun decor for months, my house seems so plain to me after the holiday decor goes away. For that reason, I've even started accumulating quite a bit of valentine decor haha!! I have to ease back into my regular house.
@ldsjm123 - Same! We always cut our tree down the Saturday morning after T-giving at this picturesque tree farm. Pick up some bbq on the way home then have everyone over for the OSU vs m*ch!g@n game and the decorating begins. Jan 1- it comes down. I'm ready by that point to have my house back to normal though and not have to try and remmebr to water the tree or sweep up the needles, etc.
I'm all for decorating the weekend of Thanksgiving! DH's argument though is that we'll be gone at my parents' that weekend, so why not get it done sooner so we can enjoy it longer? We also only have an artificial tree so I can't even bring up the point of the tree dying. Sigh. We'll see what happens. I do put my foot down though that there is no Christmas music in our apartment until December 1st!
Christmas stresses me out!!! But fun though. Anybody worry that our baby's and xmas decor won't mesh this year? Elijah was not mobile last year.... Im hoping he doesn't tear everything up!
Has anybody heard of wrapping 25 xmas gifts and letting baby open one per day in December? Trying to decide if this is a great idea or more work for me haha.
Halloween was our trial run with safety and new trinkets. She hasn't really acknowledged it. I must say I'm shocked! Hoping we're as lucky with Christmas. She's definitely in a phase of looking right at you, SMILING, and doing what you're asking her not to do. Really don't want to have to battle that with our Christmas decor! Ugh!! Gotta love toddler independence lol.
Yeah I fully expect P to pull the Christmas tree over the first day we put it up. Probably will need to do a progressive decorating method to work our way up to breakable ornaments depending on whether he’s able to leave stuff alone. We have friends who put their trees up on coffee tables lol

I actually try to go big for each month (with larger themes throughout the seasons)...we host a monthly poker game of 30 dudes, so I like to show off.
