What are your symptoms? Nausea has taken over my life. I started taking diclegis last night, so hopefully I'll get some relief soon.
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Had my first appointment yesterday. It went really well. I got a lot of my questions answered and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Next appointment scheduled for 11/20.
Rants/raves? Bump app finally works again! It's been days of only lurking because I was too sick to get up and go to my desktop, so I'm glad to finally be posting again!
Questions for FTM, or STM+? How early is too early to start shopping for baby stuff? I told my sister last night and she already started talking about a shower and how I need to start registering.
GTKY: What is your favorite thing about fall? I used to say the chill in the air and the changing leaves back when I lived in Maryland, but in San Diego we get none of that. I do love any excuse to drink apple cider though!

What are your symptoms? not much. Sore boobs but I can only really tell when I sleep on my stomach or go down the stairs too fast.
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? not until 11/9. Counting down the days!
Rants/raves? It's getting cold. They're calling for snow on Friday morning
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Did you do much saving prior to the LO being born? I think MH had a bit of a freak out regarding money and now he keeps asking what I can make and sell to make some extra cash. We do alright for ourselves. Like my parents always said, we're comfortable. But we do spend more than we should and we don't have a huge nest egg.
GTKY: What is your favorite thing about fall? I love opening the windows on a breezy 65 and sunny day and lighting a fall candle. BBW candles are my jam and the fall ones are my fav by far.
@Amphibious22 I keep wanting to shop for baby stuff too! I started a shopping list on Amazon for baby stuff and we will probably do a registry on there too. It helps to just be able to save the item but not buy it yet. I did buy a pumpkin for the chocolate chip.

@Amphibious22 - I am wondering the same thing. I want to buy EVERYTHING right now but I am making myself chill out. I decided I am not going to buy anything until I find out if its a girl or boy, mostly because I am scared of something happening before then and I wont be able to look at any of the stuff I bought.

Rants/raves? Still waiting for our house to sell, some things never change apparently. also I had beets last night, forgot this morning and scared the shit out of myself. Note to self... No matter how much you love beets maybe just take a break right now... My Rave is that I got a new car! I told my DH Friday about our BFP and he immediately jumped online and found the car he had been eyeing and we picked it up Saturday. Its been really fun driving it to work. Its a CMax which is a hybrid, so I am pumped about the gas milage. I kind of feel like I am dreaming.

@krashke we don't have a huge savings either. And we're most likely going to dip into savings if DH doesn't find another job soon. The only thing I'm truly worried about affording is daycare. It's pretty expensive where we live, but I don't want to quit my job after the baby is born. FX DH gets an awesome job with a good salary soon!
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
@Amphibious22 Day care can be pretty expensive here too. I was talking with a friend and she said that she only pays about $175 a week for her infant at an in home center. At some fancy daycare centers it can be $500+ a week. So I think we will go that route. She suggested going to the state licensing site, finding the in home providers in the area (closer to work for us) and call all of them to see if they will have an infant opening for the time when you will be going back to work. Then when you find ones with openings you do interviews and check references and lastly do an unscheduled drop in during daycare hours. FX YH finds a good job soon! That is always tough!
@galactickates congrats on the new car! I want one too but my car will be paid off in March and it will be nice to go for a year or so with only one car payment. I was a little BSC after reading the product spotlight about carseats/carriers yesterday and when I got home checked both of our cars for the Latch systems.

GTKY: What is your favorite thing about fall? nothing, I take issue with this question. Fall is just pre-winter. And winter kills my soul. I don’t need to spend three months all, winter is coming. I KNOW IT IS! ugh. Like ok sure apple cider is yummy but is it worth pre winter? No.
@krashke@Amphibious22 where do you guys live? Lol. Daycare here in Manhattan is like fully the cost of private school. Like minimum $2500/month but more realistically more than $3k? But that’s for fewer hours than would be reasonable if one works full time, they charge $8/minute you’re late, and the waitlists are so long one would need to join them before getting pregnant lol. Legit no idea how people survive long here.
@doxiemoxie212 I live in the Twin Cities so definitely not expensive compared to NYC! But hopefully it's all relative compared to the wages in the area. I can definitely see why one parent ends up staying home because the cost of child care can be more than someone's wages.

@doxiemoxie212 haha I died laughing reading that!! I actually love winter so fall being pre-winter is another reason to love it! But I completely agree with your sentiment if I apply it to spring. I hate summer and spring is just pre-summer!
ETA: I live in San Diego so prices are really high here too. I haven't fully started looking into it but I would guess something close to prices in NYC, but hopefully a little cheaper..
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
@krashke lol I doubt it. My first job in nyc paid $30k/year working 60 hours a week doing PR for one of the largest beauty brands in the world (2010). My salary went up, but I really don’t think much more than what would be elsewhere. DH works in big law now so he makes $$$ but it’s standard across geographies (he’d make exactly the same amount in Texas or Delaware, etc), and if he keeps working in big law I think he’ll actually jump off a building. But we want to move back to the Bay Area and it’s MORE expensive there lol. If only our parents had chosen less expensive places to build their/our lives.
@doxiemoxie212 haha our difference of opinion could be explained by you living in NYC and me living in southern california.. except that I grew up in Maryland and winter was still my favorite season back then. The cold is just so much better than the heat!

@amphibious22 I guess everyone is different but this seems way too early to be registering for a baby shower. I'd think mid 2nd trimester at the earliest. However, I think any time is a good time to start planning/getting baby stuff yourself I haven't gotten anything, but MH is already making the playlist for the baby shower music haha
@krashke I'm jealous of your snow. It's still in the mid 80's here. Regarding savings, we do have a good nest egg, but we've been married 12 years with no kids. Not having a nest egg wouldn't stop me from trying to have a child though - people make it work.

@Amphibious22 - Definitely too early for a baby shower. Usually they're done after 30+ weeks. Not too early to make a baby registry online, though. I know a lot of people who start one while TTGP but just keep it private (unsearch-able), and then once they're farther along make it public.
