@scatteringashes we are doing birth class all in 1 day, 8am to 430 pm on a Saturday. DH’s work schedule wouldn’t let him be there for 3 sessions so it’s a marathon day. We are also doing a low intervention class, bc I’d like to labor at home as long as I can, infant cpr, breastfeeding and a baby 101 (aka how to keep him alive bc we’re clueless) class. All but the all day class are in Dec so it’ll be a busy month lol.
This is making me stress. I have an empty baby room with literally nothing in it but two wal-mart bags of random clothes we've been gifted. And a bassinet in my entryway.
All of these wonderful lists are making me realize how ridiculously unprepared I am!!! I can’t even make up my mind what I want on the wall behind the crib. I’ll eventually get myself together and organized!
@maueraa07 I feel like this is a pretty good description of what a sibling doula is. We used one for DS2 birth, and basically she was an on-call baby sitter who showed up at our house so that we could get to the hospital and she stayed for many hours post birth until DH was ready to leave the hospital and take over dad duties. This time, since I'll be birthing at home, our sibling doula is prepared to offer additional labor support if my kids are sleeping, watch the kids if they wake up, taking them in/out of the labor room as mutually desired, and in the unlikely event of a hospital transfer she'll stay at home with the older boys.
For me, I'm not someone who likes people to know I'm laboring OR wants family members around during labor, so having my mom/mother-in-law/aunt etc. around in my house during early labor (or even just knowing I'm in labor) stresses me out to no end. Having a sibling doula who is invested in my birth, but not emotionally invested in the way family is, is the perfect solution.

Right @EmilyLove25? I literally only had make freezer meals on my list. Now I'm actually putting pen to paper and and writing out what still needs to be done. Which is a lot.
It's true though. I'm 27 weeks today... 37 weeks is New Years Day. We figured that out when my doctor said they wanted to induce at 37 weeks and we realized how dang inconvenient it's going to be!
Finally got baby list down so I’m resurrecting this thread lol and we are almost a month closer since last time someone posted in it:) I included what I’m packing in hospital bag.

@madcouplewithabox have you decided what oil you're going to diffuse? I've been looking at a lot of relaxing/calming blends, I'd love to hear what others will be using.
I just remembered yesterday that we'll have to pack a "hospital" bag for DD too.. She's sleeping over at ILs next weekend, so I'm debating just sending along extra clothes and diapers to keep there so we don't have to worry about forgetting a bag when we're heading to the hospital. I also have no idea when to pack my bag! I was induced last time so we had the luxury of knowing exactly when we were going in to the hospital and I packed the night before.
@maueraa07 totally answering your question even though I’m not the one you asked lol. I hope my hospital will let me diffuse, (they do in the ante partum ward so that’s encouraging) if they do I’ll be diffusing a lavender, lemongrass and vetiver blend. I’ve missed my vetiver since it’s one that can potentially cause contractions. I’ll probably also bring some clary sage (another one that can potentially cause contractions).
We have a big sibling class scheduled & maternity pictures scheduled for December. But other than that I think the only things really on my list are getting the closet organized in the nursery (after my sprinkle) and packing a hospital bag. OH and I guess I should add deciding between a vaginal birth or c-section (ughhh).

Thanks for sharing all your lists!
