This just seems like a very interesting thread. I am curious as to what you ladies have seen online as far as baby items go that make you say "what the..?"

@sarahhedger7 All right, I'll own up to the Nose Frida. We have one for my 2.5 year old (even just used it today, he has an awful cold).  You can control the suction a lot easier, there is a replaceable filter so none of the snot even makes it anywhere near your mouth. My kid thinks it's hilarious, but he thinks a regular aspirator is the worst thing in the world. Plus they're really easy to clean.... compared to an aspirator which is impossible. Don't ever cut an aspirator in half, sooo disgusting.

@sarahhedger7 - I agree! It grosses me out to the MAX! My sister was so excited to buy me one and I'm like.. I love you but no thanks.

@Gingermom15 - the lady at the consignment shop I go to says they're a waste of money! they just end up peeing them right off! lol

@kiki75 - hahahahahhahaha! Have you seen the one for Halloween that says, "I vant to suck your boobs" ? *shudder* why?

I mentioned Beaufort Bonnets on another thread but...no. Just NO. Also giant hair bows on tiny babies. No shade if it’s your thing but IT’S A BABY. Who cares if someone thinks she is a boy for 2 seconds?

On the topic of nose frida... when your baby has its first cold, you might just change your opinion.  When your poor baby is too stuffed up to breath, or to nurse/have a bottle, and you've tried vapor rub, steam, the whole nine yards, AND the regular bulb just isn't powerful enough to clear those airways.... you will be so willing to suck those boogies out with your mouth!  Nose Frida rocks lol

The nose frida grosses me out. I make DH do it and I sit there and gag. BUT holy smokes is it effective!!! And the filter is there so I focus on that. 

*Gag warning* Last time we did it, DH sucked and then screamed "There's no filter!!!!" I almost puked on DS. 

I'm with you ladies. Any clothing referring to boobs is NOT going on my child. Ever.

Sounds like the nose frida is staying on the registry list! Have y'all seen this gem tho? I Had someone tell me about it a while ago and just looking it up. Who thinks of this stuff??

also team nose Frida - no personal expexperience but it was the very first thing i registered for! I know so many people who love it. 

Also @justkeeptrying  I'm sorry for your H! that is way gross but also SOO funny! the mental image that you just described actually had me in hysterics picturing my H in the same circumstance.  LMAO

Add me to #teamnosefrida.  There is a filter and the tubing is pretty long, nothing is going to get into your mouth.  DH wouldn't use it for the longest time and was using the bulb.  One day he finally saw the light and agrees that it is way better than the bulb.

My aunt got DD a onsie that said something like "I'm cute; Mom's [cute/smart/hot - I cannot remember]; Dad's lucky."  Yeah that went to Goodwill right away.

I’m team nose Frieda but my husband will be the one doing it. He had no problem sucking the snot out of my nephews noses when we’ve watched them in the past, and I couldn’t bring myself to do it. He’s a champ! Maybe it’ll be different when it’s my own, but at least I know I can count on him lol

Oh man that nose frida is so gross but works SO much better than the bulb. 

The docatot gets me. Everyone preaches and preaches about having baby sleep in the crib with no pillows or blankets or stuffed animals to prevent SIDS but everyone is all like oh yea a GIANT pillow/bumper combo that completely surrounds my baby? All for it. I don’t get it. 

Also, that inflatable pillow that goes around babies neck and helps them float. WTAF. I don’t see how someone created it and thought it was a good idea AND how all these people are buying it?

FWIW I’d totally use this is if the kid could figure it out and it was legit. My son was a snacker and never slept more than 4 hours at a time until after a year old and weaned.
sleep deprivation is torture. I would have tried anything lol

@cford08 that box is actually one of those gag gift boxes. My sister gave it to me at my shower wth my first haha and I was like what the heck? When you open it there's a flap that says "this is a joke" and she used it to hold clothes. If you look closely on the box you can tell its a joke because it says it can be used to hold infant energy drink, stew, and cocoa

@HappyMonkey817 I hate that stuff!! Even the cutie/mom's little hunk whatever I do not like at all. My MIL and her sisters love buying it. I won't say no to free clothes so he wears it at home but definitely not something I like. And my kid might still be breastfeeding but he won't ever wear a boob shirt.

I once saw a meme that said "Every time I cry they stick a tit in my mouth" Aside from the vulgarity of that word, it never fails that those moms are also very difficult to deal with, seem to barrel over their kids and invalidate them and call them names...at least in my mom circle, this is true.

This thread is very similar to the Feb 18 moms and I'm glad we all agree! That's just so wrong on so many levels, sexualizing not only anyone ever, but especially a baby!

I registered for the Nose Frida! It seems gross, but my mom was a nurse, and we lived on a farm, so gross stuff was a daily occurrence... But The Frida Baby company has a whole line of weird stuff. Have you all seen the Windi Gaspasser?   I registered for that too.

@pregobeth I never used the windi, but there were moms in my last bmb who swore by it, if I remember correctly.

@jeanbean15 Yep, everything I read said that this is a godsend for gassy babies in pain. It's just a poo-apocalipse when it works though.  The reviews on amazon are pretty hilarious.

Shortly after DS was born, one of our friends posted this to my husband's Facebook wall. My husband never "liked" it. I never "liked" it. No one ever "liked" it. Our friend thought it was hilarious. He is now a new dad. His wife did not find it funny when I brought it up.

I registered for both too, in a fridababy kit with a nail file and clippers. The illustrations alone are worth it too me! I do just about gag at the idea of the nose one, filter or not, but it also totally makes sense.
