Re: TTGP grad check in

  • Oh hayyyy!

    Doing well here!
Finally got most of the furniture organized for the nursery nook, all we need is a rocker/recliner/something but DH, though has perpetually asked for a recliner, has now decided we don't need one? Granted they can get expensive, but common!
Now we just need to put it all together since it all came from either online or Ikea.
I don't remember being so annoyed with baby movements with DS, but every time this kid kicks I just find it irritating because it's so uncomfortable. Plus she had the most rapid hiccups ever at 3am this morning and I was like... seriously kid, I'm trying to sleep. I guess the novelty wore off with the first pregnancy haha
I've gotten a decent start on my crochet baby blanket for her, hopefully I can finish it before she's 5 months old like I did with DS's haha

  • @failuretofly I'm team recliner! we have a glider for the twins but the back isn't high enough to make it comfortable to sleep it.. you just get a horrible kink in your neck. when they were 6 months old we got a recliner for the living room and it was DH's go to spot in the middle of the night... foot and neck support FTW! I am finally feeling more movement but man dose this kid love to kick my cervix... this weekend I was nearly doubled over from some of those kicks...  Hang in there. Good luck finishing the blanket, I too am trying to finish a blanket for pistachio... the problem is I just wing it so this one is WAY longer than I meant it to be so I had to go out an buy more yarn so that it looks like a blanket not just a wide scarf.

well I wrote most of the goings on up above. I think the other big thing is we switched the twins to toddler beds... bed time has gone well but nap time on the weekend has been more challenging. I think we will get the hang of it but maybe not till DH wants to throttle someone. Though with the twins in toddler beds we have the crib set up in the nursery, we just have to play with room arrangement a little since its a small room. Once we confirm a furniture arrangement the room is pretty much done. (eep...) that just leaves getting the PNP set up in our room and the mammaroo out. Time needs to slow down...only 10 weeks left...

  • Not much to report here, except for being hungry all the time, night sweats some nights, and also hip pain some nights waking me up multiple times to try to find a comfortable position.

Our showers are the 28th of this month and the 4th of November, so I'm just anxiously awaiting those so I'll know exactly what we have left to purchase!

  • Almost 32 weeks! 7 weeks to go - time is seriously flying now.  I start working from home permanently on 11/6 until 12/1 When I go out on leave but for now I'm working from home pretty much once a week because of doctor appts it's just easier. My GD seems stable right now and though I'm still getting sick here and there, it's leaps and bounds improved.  i second @failuretofly about the uncomfortable baby kicks. I'm so not used to it. I barely felt DS1 - he was such a lazy baby in the womb. This one never stops moving. All day, all night. I'm so in trouble with him lol  the other night at like 3 am, he was kicking so hard, I could see his foot through my skin. I poked him and told him to cool it.  I'm slowly going through my to-do list and have made a dent. Going to work on my thank yous for my shower work threw me tonight and hopefully knock that off the list.

@wabash15 I'm so glad the transition to beds is going seemingly well!!

@MJDsquared ugh I also wake up multiple times to switch positions because of hip pain. Between that and peeing 4-6 times a night, I don't even know why I try to sleep.  A pillow between legs has helped a little bit!

  • @Marley629 I sleep with the Snoogle in between my legs but now that you mention it, it’s pretty thin. I’m going to try a thicker pillow and hopefully that will help!

  • Let's see...

Our nursery is about half set up and should be pretty final in the next 3 weeks.

We bought a new car (a Rouge) and I love it.

My leaking boobs can GTFO because I'm over it.

Am I having Braxton hicks? It kinda feels like a kick, but instead of being a quick feeling, it sustains like one long kick. Lasts anywhere from like 10 seconds to almost a minute?

Lately I've been terrified I'm going to have the baby early. I've spent the whole pregnancy assuming I'll go late, but now I've done a 180.

  • @Tennis11785 I get Braxton hicks often with this one. The best way I can describe it is that the top of my bump gets so tight and hard and it lasts for about a minute-minute and a half.   Congratulations on the new car and the nursery being almost done!!

@failuretofly Haha putting furniture together is the WORST!  I made my husband and his dad do it. I hope you can outsource it as well ;)
OMG @wabash15 you did it!  You got those babies in toddler beds!  I hope they adjust quickly and get back on a good nap schedule in time for pistachio.
@MJDsquared dude oh aryeah deceiving my life’s. Late shower so I have no idea what we need to buy and hip pain all the time while sleeping. It sucks. No night sweats yet though. Sorry lady!
@Marley629 Im glad you’re feeling better with your GD!  I may be joining you guys over in that thread soon. I’ll know tomorrow. Glad you had your first shower!
@Tennis11785 My friend has a Rouge and she loves it!  They’re super comfy!  Sorry I have no advice on BH. I don’t think I’ve felt any yet.

    HEY YOU GUUUUUYZ!!
I had to take my 3 hour glucose test today and I’m convinced that I’m going to fail.  Ugh. At least I only have at most like 8 weeks of being pregnant :)
Im fully consumed by this stupid remodel at my new house - which SHOULD be done by Sunday - that I’ve put babies on the back burner. The nursery is set up, but we need to put together their closet system and I have to finish the decor chotchkis.  I’ve got one shower for family this Sunday and my friends shower will be on the 28th. My house better be done!
Doing ok otherwise.  Babies are kicking up a storm and I just can’t freaking wait to hold them. Oh, and I went to Zara.com and holy hell they have some cute baby shit. I highly recommend!  Got some cute rompers and sweaters for the girls for this winter :)

Edited to change aren’t to ARE!
  • @breezybee they just opened up a Zara's in the mall by me and my friend said same thing about their clothes. I'm afraid for my bank acct to step foot in there. FX that you get good results from your 3 hour today.

  • @breezybee - good luck with the 3 hour test!!

@marley629 - Mine isn't always at the top of my bump, it can be anyway.  I wonder if its still BH or something else?

@wabash15 - yay for toddler beds! You're right - where did the time go?

  • @Marley629 I'm so glad your GD is under control. eep 7 weeks... thats crazy how did we get here?!?  add me to the cant get comfy at night and have to switch positions all the time.. damn hip pain.
@MJDsquared I'm with you on the night sweats I'm in the north and most nights don't even sleep with a sheet on me because I'm so hot... I also get my own personal summers during the day...
@Tennis11785 hooray for the new car!! sorry about the leaky boobs... have you tried bamboobies? they are reusable breast pads that have a very discrete profile and they are super soft...  also my guess is your feeling braxton hicks, I would not think a kick would last that long unless that kiddo is practicing resistance training. If it helps were at the stage that even if your little does come early they should be just fine.
@breezybee any results on the GD screen? Its amazing that the renos should be done on sunday! You'll have plenty of time to get baby stuff organized after that.

  • @MJDsquared I had to upgrade to a thicker pillow between my legs too and that seems to have helped my hip pain so far!

@Tennis11785 probably BH, for me it feels like my ute get's hard and uncomfortable, almost like baby has pressed her head into the side really firmly and held it there.

@breezybee i hope your GD screen results are good!

@Marley629 so glad you are feeling better

@wabash15 glad toddler beds are working out!

Yeah once this Reno is done, it’ll be all baby all the time over here. I can’t wait!
  • @wabash15 Ohhh yeah. I've had hot flashes only twice but holy crap they are brutal. They're worse than I imagined them. Not excited for menopause. Lol.
@failuretofly The thicker pillow definitely made a difference for me last night! Hallelujah.
    @breezybee FX for passing results!

  • @failuretofly and @wabash15 - yes those are great ways to describe what I'm feeling.  So maybe it his Braxton Hicks.  Its uncomfortable and I notice it, but it's not painful.

@wabash15 - yes!  I have 5 bamboobies and I love them!  I want to buy a zillion more so I don't need to do laundry for them quite as much.  Although I feel like when I wear them (or even if I just use a disposable one), I never leak.  Rarely do I see any leakage on them and if I do it's the tiniest of amounts.... But if I don't have them in, I definitely leak.  That's probably what annoys me MOST about the leaking boobs.

  • @MJDsquared if you ever have the opportunity to see menopause the musical its very funny. yah hot flashes suck... with the twins I would sleep by an open window in the middle of a northern winter and no sheets I was so damn hot all the time.

  • @Tennis11785 I found when I was BFing DS and more prone to leaks, just the pressure from my bra was enough to stop the leaking, so maybe that's what's happening with the pads? I almost always wear a heavier lined bra because I hate the 'headlights on' look haha
