IF Testing and Treatment- Week of 10/16

Re: IF Testing and Treatment- Week of 10/16

  • Yes, today is Day 5, @adirat. So I guess they are going to see if the other two can make it to day 6. I’m also seriously shocked that they said none of them can be PGS tested. I’ve never heard of that happening before! I know I should be happy that we have two at all, but this was SO not what I was expecting. I’m really devastated. We just can’t seem to catch a break.

  • Oh no, @AlohaKumu, I'm sorry.  Stay strong, girl.  I'll be sending all of my good vibes for you 2 little guys to keep growing!.
  • Well shit @AlohaKumu I'm sorry you got that news!!
I hate that this whole IF "game" seems to be 2 steps forward and 1 step back.
I hope you get good news on the other two tomorrow  <3
  • Big hugs @AlohaKumu.  Day 5 is an awful day and I kind of think they shouldn't even update for day 5.  Keeping my fingers crossed so hard for day 6 for you.
  • @AlohaKumu so many hugs. I am crossing everything for the embies you do have
  • @AlohaKumu I am so sorry to hear that. I know you were expecting much more. I really hope the other 2 also make it tomorrow. Sometimes it's better not to do PGS when you don't have a lot of embies though. We opted not to do it because we knew we wouldn't have many and the science is seriously being called into question right now. I think it's great if you have a whole lot and want to make sure you start with the best. It sucks though that you have to wait just as long when you're not waiting for PGS results anymore. I would call and maybe speak to the nurse or RE about that and also ask why they think so many did not make it. Hugs to you.
  • @alohakumu big hugs to you and fx for the other two to catch up.

  • @rallykat14 fingers crossed so hard for you!!!  I don't blame you for testing on Sunday. I always test before a beta so I can mentally prepare.  I really hope this is it for you!
  • @rallykat14 - FX so hard for you!!!

I am having the same problem with mobile, it's recognizing that I'm logged in, but not actually acknowledging that on the boards.  I've logged out and back in, but no changes, so I can't comment or love at all.  I suspect it has something to do with all of these lovely ads I'm seeing pop up in the middle of threads on mobile...

@AlohaKumu sorry for the rough patch girl! It only takes one! Take care of yourself!

im also having issues with love tits!
  • @AlohaKumu So sorry that the results were not what you expected or wanted. *hugs*
@purplg8r This RE didn't mention TI as an option, and I didn't think to ask about it. He seemed to be saying that we should go straight to IUI because of my age.
  • @AlohaKumu - This is breaking my heart, friend. I wish I could make it all better. <<HUGS>>

@rallykat14 - Girl, you know my fingers and toes are crossed for you!!!!

@darkstar42 - as far as reacting to the hormones, anecdotally, you probably will. Rest assured, it won't be for long. I started symptoms on about day 2 or 3? of taking the pills and they lasted about a week after my last one... but overall, that's not long. You typically only take them for 5 days, so a week-2 weeks isn't really that long. You will survive. Going into it expecting mood changes helps you prepare for it. Good luck.

@rallykat14 so many things crossed for you!

@AlohaKumu I am glad you were able to hide out in your friends office. So many hugs. There is some research now coming out about PGS and its a bit controversial and equivocal about its true accuracy, so some REs aren't recommending it as much as they used to, so I am hoping it wouldn't have been necessary for you and your embryos are wonderful. So many finger and toes and arms crossed
  • @AlohaKumu - I am so sorry about the news from your RE :( I know your hopes were high after the ER so that's certainly disappointing. Looking forward to reading updates now that it's day 6 - thinking of you and hoping for the best!

@rallykat14 - FX!!! You are strong to hold off on testing!

@avrilmai Thanks, no news yet and I'm trying to stay calm...went out to dinner with a friend tonight which helped! How are you doing?

  • @adirat I’m doing okay, thanks for asking.  Work is keeping me busy. I’m just kind of waiting for next cycle to get started with clomid and see where that takes us.

  • @Avrilmai I'm having a memory blank right now. Are you doing your first medicated IUI cycle next time around?
  • Yes @antoto I was SO glad that our place doesn't tell you anything until Day 6. I couldn't deal with that stress.

  • @darkstar42 no IUI yet.  We will do just the clomid for 2 cycles first; trying to remain hopeful that it will “do the trick” as they say
