Any appointments this week/last? I had an appointment with my gestational diabetes specialist yesterday--it was the first time they didn't increase my insulin Starting on Monday, I have my twice a week bio physical profile and OB/MFM appointments on Monday and Thursday. Plus some cardiologist appointments thrown in there, too.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question! Good question! 1) For the twins to stay put until the scheduled c-section on 11/24 2) For my back and leg pain (from being on the couch all day) to go away 3) For healthy babies when born (on 11/24 )
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Rant: Work is getting difficult. I know I'm just working from home due to bed rest, but I am just exhausted. From not sleeping well at night, I normally wake up, get ready, come downstairs, eat breakfast, respond to any emails, and take a nap until I have to test my blood sugars an hour later. I find myself wanting to nap throughout the day. I just have a few more things to get sorted out to be confident that everything can be handled well when I'm on maternity leave, and I hope to have that finished this week.
Rave: My husband continues to be my everything--I can't imagine going through this without him by my side taking care of me all the time. He gets upset when I try to help him. He's great. I haven't done laundry or anything strenuous since our embryo transfer in March!

@beary67 Mad props for working this long and from bedrest. That can't be easy! You are doing great though!
I forget who asked in the last thread about baby carriers... I never really attempted to carry them tandem, but I have heard good things about the twin carriers. I recently have purchased a couple wildbird ring slings and there are many twin moms that tandem carry with the slings and it looks a lot easier to do than some of the structured carriers.
How far along are you? 30w4d with just one.
Any appointments this week/last? Yes, I did my 3 hour glucose yesterday and my doctor just called and I passed! woooowhooo! I have a regular OB appointment on Thursday.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question! 1. A million dollars. To pay off our house, land, and any additional debt and still put a little away for retirement! 2. Also, a healthy baby! 3. An engagement ring sometime soon... Its been over 5 years and almost three kids later.
What rants/raves/questions/advice? If I make it to Saturday, which I should at this point, I will officially have made it longer this pregnancy than I did with the twins!
@beary67 I'm not on bed rest, but I work from home too. I'm soooo exhausted, I can barely get any work done. I do know I'm anemic and my hemoglobin was low, but I literally fall asleep several times throughout the day so I end up working late into the night to make up for it. My night sleep is also out of whack so I'm sure that doesn't help.
@tmk0325 Yay for making it past your milestone (I know you will as well). I love your question too.
How far along are you?

Any appointments this week/last?
I saw my OB yesterday and I'm now strictly going to see the MFM doc for the rest of my pregnancy. Baby girl is in the third percentile for weight so they want to monitor her every week for now. Alternating growth checks and cord blood flow, movements and practice breaths each week. This Thurs will be a growth check. Baby boy is in the 31st percentile for weight. I also signed up for a third trimester class for tomorrow and totally forgot about it so I really don't feel like going. I wish there was a syllabus or something so I'd know if it's worth my time.
GTKY KY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question! 1. I'd wish for two healthy, full term (37 weeks) babies. 2. All the money I ever want/need (no limit). I'm not greedy and would share with immediate family and charities, but why put a limit if I don't have to LOL. 3. A night nanny so SO and I can get some sleep.
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Rant: Feeling a little down about the babies weights because I don't think I'm really eating a whole lot. My nausea, heartburn and reflux make me not want to eat anything so I feel like I eat probably a little less than I did before getting pregnant. Also, since the heartburn has been worse, I haven't been drinking enough water. I try though.
@beary67 I hope you're able to get some sleep soon and that you can get your work finished up without any issues. @tmk0325 Congrats on passing the 3 hour test! What a relief! @clovelyone I'm sending positive thoughts to you and your babies. I hope you're able to work up a bit of an appetite soon and those babies get a little more meat on their bones (if I could lend you a little bit of weight off my boy I would!). I've been dealing with the reflux a lot lately too, it sucks.
How far along are you?

Any appointments this week/last?
I had my 1 hour glucose test last week. I haven't gotten a call from my OB yet, but I was able to look at the results on my portal. From what I can tell, I passed with a 108 (cutoff of 135). It does look like I'm either anemic or have a B12 or folate deficiency (or all of the above). I was slightly anemic before pregnancy though, so that's not a huge surprise.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? 1) That my babies lead long, happy, healthy lives (that's probably more than one wish, but whatever...) 2) Stealing from @clovelyone - all the money we ever want/need 3) The elimination of hatred and bigotry in the world
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Rave: The walls of the nursery are painted! We just need to paint the trim, wash the ceiling (it's gross), and clean out the closet before we can move in the furniture and decorate!
Rant: Because I took Columbus Day off I have to work four 10 hour days this week and it sucks.
Tomorrow starts my weekly rotations between MFM and OB. I'm nervous for some reason, I've been having a lot more sustained, timetable (3-5 min), painful contractions lately, but they usually stop or slow down right at the 1 hour mark, so I haven't gone in. Also, it's been a full 4 weeks since I've seen the babies, and everything has been perfect with them so far, I have this gut feeling that my luck is going to change. Trying not to worry about it so much.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question!
1. Paid maternity leave for as long as I want 2. Healthy babies 3. To end pregnancy/infant loss
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Raves: I win $500 on a $3 scratch off today Rants: just the pain, it's consuming
@beary67 I'm not on bed rest, but wfh frequently and feel the same way. My morning meetings are usually back to back 7am-10am, and then I struggle to not take a nap (sometimes I do), also most of my day is structured a lot around my meals, blood sugar testing, and timing iron supplements.
@tmk0325 I hope that ring comes soon! My DH and I were together a little over 6 years before I got mine, and then I planned the wedding for 6 months later. I couldn't wait any longer!
@clovelyone I'm with you on the lack of water. It stirs up my heartburn, and knowing how much more often I have to pee (getting up is painful most of the time) kinda makes me talk myself out of it. I've been drinking sugar-free lemonade a bit more to stay hydrated.
@leilagphillips & @tmk0325 congrats on passing glucose screen! I'd never wish GD on anyone, my silver lining has been that the babies will be born before thanksgiving, so at least I can enjoy pie! I'm having serious FOMO on all the pumpkin spice right now!
Any appointments this week/last? I had an appointment last week and all looked good. Nothing for a few more weeks.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question! Oh my gosh you guys have such great answers! 1)for all my babies to be healthy happy, good people 2) enough money to pay off student loans and our mortgage (though I like @clovelyone style) 3) for people to truly listen to one another and take the time to consider where someone else is coming from
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Rants: I think I got food poisoning on monday... monday night was rough with so much nausea/dry heaving and I just couldn't get comfortable. yesterday I had no appetite and had the worst gas/belching and man I'm not sure I have ever heard/felt my stomach rumble so much. Then today its all coming out. Thankfully I feel a little better but man this is no fun Raves: DH has been wonderful about helping out and letting me rest.
advice: I don't have a great back so I never wore the twins at once (except when they were itty bitty) I have heard wonderful things about the twin structured carrier. I mostly using a ring sling and a boba (soft structured) and it was nice to wear one and then hold the other or have the other in a rocker/bassinet etc. DH would often baby wear also. He prefers the soft structured carriers.
@tmk0325 hooray for passing the GD screen! @clovelyone I'm sorry they are worried about the babies size. Try to eat but don't stress too much. Babies will take their nutrients first then you get them. I know protein was super important so if you can do greek yogurt or cottage cheese or nuts or nut butters that may help. hugs lady hang in there. @leilagphillips glad you passed your GD screen too and congrats on getting the room painted @beary67 growing babies is physically exhausing, plus being on bed rest. You are such a trooper and I'm so glad your DH is taking such good care of you. Fx those boys stay put! @KathrynJ088 keep us updated on the contractions. fx those babies stay put longer!

for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question!
1. Healthy babies in November with no NICU time
2. The time/money to properly take maternity leave
3. Someone to keep my house clean while all this is happening.
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Getting pretty uncomfortable at this point. The peeing is ramped up considerably, 6x a night is rather sleep depriving. Also the sitting to standing and having everything re-position itself in my pelvic area is way more uncomfortable than I anticipated. If something is on the floor it is dead to me...
Family/friends shower is on Saturday. Work shower is next Wednesday. : )
@cloverlyone I can really tell when I don't get enough liquids, it just makes me feel gross. Good luck!
@KathrynJ088 Rest if you can. I'm sorry that the contractions have been painful. I've begun dreaming of labor again here, I hadn't since the first trimester but those dreams are back as we get closer.
@tmk0325 I'm so done with work right now. I mostly like my job but this last bit...I just DGAF anymore.
@beary67 Girl, you sound so uncomfortable. I’m sorry. I’m a little behind ou, and I’m already feeling it. I had a breakdown the other night thinking about how I still have 6 more weeks. The idea of doing this for another 6 weeks, while getting bigger and bigger, is just so hard to fathom. I got a 2 hour back rub from my sympathetic husband that night, though @tmk0325 Yay for passing your test! I hope you get a freaking ring already too! @clovelyone So sorry that baby girls measurements are making you nervous. Being closely monitored by your MFM is good. It’s got to be so tough. We’re here for you. Also, I second what @wabash15 said: protein is boss. Get some Greek yogurt and nuts and just go to town. @leilagphillips Ugh, I HATE painting. Godspeed, my friend. @KathrynJ088 I seriously cannot believe that you only have 39 days to go. That’s terrifying. But im the best way possible Amd hell yes to winning all that cash from a $3 scratcher! Yes!! @wabash15 NOOOOO BOOOOOO to food poisoning! Ugh that’s the absolute WORST, and I can’t even imagine having to deal with that preganant. Oy. @stella_700 I feel you on the peeing. Last night, I got up every 45 minutes to pee. What a nightmare. Hang in there. And have fun at your shower this weekend!
How far along are you? 28+3, mo/di twin girls
Any appointments this week/last? I had 2 Appts yesterday. One with my OB and the other was a long US to measure growth. Babies are now 2.8lbs and 2.6lbs. Crazy!
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question! OMFG for sure one would be to have my freaking house finished RIGHT NOW. This remodel has been significantly harder than any remodel we’ve ever done before and both my husband and I are losing our shit. Another wish would be for these girls to go to the full 37 weeks and come out healthy. The last wish would be to win the lottery lol
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Rants, just obviously my freaking house remodel. We’re on our 3rd contractor, and I finally feel like these new guys are competent and will get the job done to my standards. I just need this to be over. GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! Oh, and I failed my first one hour Glucose screening so now I have to do the 3 hour and I am really dreading it. This is going to fucking suck. Raves are that my babies are doing really well. That’s kind of the only positive thing happening right now. Everything else is so stressful. I don’t think I have any questions right now.
For those of you who are struggling to get liquids/food down. My MFM recommend drinking an ensure a couple times a day. I purposely bought the ones with more protein in them. I preferred the chocolate it was kind of like chocolate milk. So that could be something else you could try. At this point, you really want to be trying to consume as much protein as you can during the day! Greek yogurt, string cheese, peanut butter, or protein smoothies are also good alternatives. During my twin pregnancy I had one or two ensure a day and ate super small meals multiple times a day that seemed to help. I also took zantac 150 daily. I take that now with this pregnancy too. Seems I always have heartburn, so I'm with you all there!
@breezybee for the three hour test not sure what your requirements are, but they told me I needed to fast for 12 hours. Try to drink plenty of water and eat something protein rich and filling right up to that 12 hour mark if you can. Ive heard of some people blowing veins because they were too dehydrated and I definitely made sure I drank a lot of water the whole day before. It seemed to help. I didn't have any issues. I was a bit nauseous while I was waiting, but was ok overall. Once I got done I consumed a bag of beef jerky, a bottle of water, and a sub!
@wabash15 I hope you feel better soon! Food poisoning would definitely suck right now. Thanks for the protein advice. I probably haven't been eating enough protein. I've been trying to eat more red meat to increase my iron, but I might add in yogurt. I used to eat yogurt every day, but I think it was making me too mucusy in the first trimester so I stopped eating it.
@stella_700 I hope you only have a few days of the constant peeing. I had it pretty bad for about 4-5 nights and then it went back to normal (which is still a lot, but I'm able to sleep a few hours at a time.
@breezybee Thanks for the advice! I want to see pics of your kitchen once it's finished ☺️.
@stella_700 ohh I remember that, something falling on the floor and looking at it, then just walking away... @breezybee I hope 3rd time is the charm in terms of contractors. I'm sure the urdge to want to just bring the babies home to the house is strong

@breezybee We're going to be having a contractor working on finishing half our attic in the next few weeks (the other half's done already), we're just waiting for the guy to recover from some surgery he just had. Your kitchen contracting experience is making me really nervous though... thankfully, it's just going to become a playroom/den area that we don't need to use right now (it's currently just storage), but I'm not super thrilled about the possibility of work still happening when I've just come home from the hospital with the tiny humans.
@leilagphillips It really sucks. We’ve done so many remodels over the years and this one is BY FAR the worst. Between firing one contractor and one leaving because his house burned down, it’s just a mess. And now ere seeing that this second contractor was just screwing up left and right, so now his crap needs to be fixed. My husband was supposed to be in charge of this to take the stress off of me and I’m just really annoyed that things have gone so haywire on his watch. I’m taking over now and getting this shit done. My main issue is that everything downstairs is covered in drywall dust and I can’t get anything cleaned properly or unpacked until this is done. I’m just on hold until this is over and its driving me crazy becsue I’m really getting the nesting urge. Guys, I swear I’ll be back to my normal self when this is all over, but for right now, I’m hanging on by a thread lol.
@breezybee Ughhh that really does sound miserable. We've had some bad contractor experiences in the past, but nothing that bad. I hope that this last contractor is the real deal for you and your kitchen gets done ASAP!
I joined the facebook page yesterday and saw a couple of you there too! I hope some more of you come over! It'll be nice to get to know you all a little better!
@tmk0325 yes! So nice seeing some of the twin mamas on Facebook! I thought if some more end up joining (no pressure) perhaps we can make also make our own group or check-in thread or something to continue to support one another once the babies are here! And of course, to get advice from our twin mama veterans!!

You guys TW - TTTS Loss A twin Mom in Feb lost one of her boy twins due to TTTS complications. They’ve got a love shower GIF thread going over there to send support to the Mom. It’s not much, but maybe she’ll feel some love right now. I read her blog, which is noted in this weeks Randoms thread in Feb, and just could not stop sobbing. END TW
@breezybee .... same. it's so heartbreaking. it feels so pointless to send gifs. i mean, obviously i did, because why not, but how is this going to mean something to this woman? i feel so terrible for her and her family.

@wabash15 I haven't decided if I'm going to join the larger group yet either, but I do like the idea of keeping in touch with the people I interact the most with. No offense to others, but Facebook pretty much gives people access to your whole life LOL, so it makes me a little nervous to let people I haven't really chatted with have access to my page.
Wow all you ladies are my heroes. I feel like I'm being an absolute pansy at 27 weeks. Today has been a rough day. Pressure in the belly, almost like a pushing lol, constant need for the restroom, lower back pain, swelling by 9am today, sore throughout. Oy I do not feel like myself.
@beary67 I'm sorry to hear you have rough days at home. I hope it gets better soon to where you can concentrate on JUST the pregnancy. In reference to the Facebook group, could I be a part of it too? If so, how do I join?
@clovelyone I feel you on the night nanny, genius!
@leilagphillips 10 hour days are horrid. I've been on five 10 hour days since March 27th and we found out I was expecting on Mothers' Day and we haven't stopped. I'm exhausted.
@kathrynj088Prayers your way that nothing changes like you think it will!
@stella_700 "if something is on the floor it is dead to me..." I'm losing it. I feel the same way. I can normally pick up something bigger with my toes but I will not bend over! I get nauseous and dizzy so I yell for DH. lol Also with the more time/money to take a proper maternity leave...yes absolutely YES. My work doesn't offer it so it's 12 weeks UNPAID for me after they take the time I've saved up which is 17 days. I'm stressing.
@breezybee hey babies doing well pretty much trumps the douches trying to work on your house! Hoping they get it done SOON
@tmk0325 Thanks for all your protein suggestions! I got for my glucose test next month and ALL I've wanted is sugar and I know it's because I'm not drinking enough water. So I'm drinking horrible pop. The past 3 days so it's time to nip it in the butt! ....starting tomorrow..
@britmanering73@leilagphillips You are both my heroes! I work from home and spread out my work throughout the day, but I'm exhausted all the time. It's a struggle to get in 8 hours of actual work.
@britmanering73 of course! We don’t have anything formed yet and haven’t decided if we will move to FB or maybe a private group on the Bump.

@breezybee the mom from feb that you are talking about is a mom from my August 16 bump group also and we've actually met in person and messaged a lot her twin pregnancy so far. It is absolutely heartbreaking. I'll tell you this though I know she is feeling the love and support from the groups and any thoughts and prayers that you can send her she would really appreciate!
@britmanering73 as for your question when they were itty bitty I usually did a ring sling... (that being said when they were super tiny I could fit both into a single soft structured carrier. As they got bigger a soft structured was super helpful, though I have a bad back so more support was good. and honnestly your going to want more than one carrier especially when they spit up all over it... (FFFC I think I have 8 now....)
oh ladies one other option to a twin SSC is a wrap... I never did it because I couldn't find someone to show me how and I was a bit hesitant to shell out the money if I wouldn't like it plus because of my back I did not want to wear both as they got bigger. There you-tube videos on how to do wraps with twins.... so that may be another option
eta: @breezybee and @tmk0325 that is heartbreaking. It would be such a mixed bag of emotions to still have one but have lost the other.

@tmk0325 and @wabash15 I would just die. I would just crumble up and die. I’m glad that she’s feeling the love and support from everyone. She’s got a long road ahead, and she’ll need it.
@breezybee@tmk0325@wabash15 Just reading the messages of support from others made me start to tear up, so I decided not to read the blog post. I can't even imagine the pain she's going through.
Same as @leilagphillips - I'd be a hot blubbering mess if I read through it.
Update from my MFM appt: everything still looks great! Baby A is measuring 4lb 6oz and she has a ton of long wispy hair! Baby B is measuring 5lb 1oz and has his daddy's ears. From what I could read on the US screen, my cervix has shortened, but not anything to be concerned about bc it's still over 2.5 cm. When we talked about contractions, she said as long as they are still stopping around that 1hr mark to not worry. If they continue, definitely go in.
I can't believe I've got about 9.5lbs of baby in me!
Also totally random, but I submitted a short application from a local photographers fb ad about being a model for a boudoir shoot, and she picked me for a boudoir maternity shoot! I'm excited to capture my (likely) last pregnancy in the way that my husband sees me
@KathrynJ088 Ahhh your babies are getting so big!!! And that's so cool about Baby A's hair! I've got a growth scan on Wednesday and I'm both excited and terrified to find out how much they weigh now, since they both were measuring ahead at the last one. And congrats on the photo shoot, that's so cool!
@breezybee I'm with you on the dying part. I haven't gone over there since I'm at work currently. Hot crying mess working a public service desk isn't good. I'll send her a gif this weekend from home.
@ I'd go with the private facebook thing but I'm not sure about the whole group thing. I mostly use facebook to keep track of my family since we are so spread out.
@KathrynJ088 As my OB says those are rockstar weights! So exciting for the maternity shoot. That is an awesome boost for a lady in our current state. Enjoy the extra pampering.
So after yesterdays appt. I'm being monitored daily now on the bp thing. I put on a large amount of weight over the past week. 7 pounds in a week, I looked down at the scale like , WHAT THE f? Almost all of it is water weight gain, my tennis shoes no longer fit and my socks are leaving bruises where they cut in. I'm at work today in flipflops, so not my usual. I also tested higher on the protein in the urine yesterday. I'll be at 31 weeks Sunday and the OB made noises of possibly taking the babies at 36 weeks to keep me from reaching the pre-eclampia threshold. I was sailing so smoothly through this pregnancy health wise.
TMI I've also got a lovely varicose vein down there. I may be spending the next several weeks sitting on a boppy pillow. They did a quick u/s babies hearts are good, still lots of fluid. Its like the bigger they get the less they can see of them. If the strength of their movements is any indicator they are healthy and gaining weight!
Re: MoM's of Multiples Weekly Check in 10/10

Good question!
1) For the twins to stay put until the scheduled c-section on 11/24
2) For my back and leg pain (from being on the couch all day) to go away
3) For healthy babies when born (on 11/24
What rants/raves/questions/advice?

@tmk0325 Yay for making it past your milestone (I know you will as well). I love your question too.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for?
1) That my babies lead long, happy, healthy lives (that's probably more than one wish, but whatever...)
2) Stealing from @clovelyone - all the money we ever want/need
3) The elimination of hatred and bigotry in the world
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Rave: The walls of the nursery are painted! We just need to paint the trim, wash the ceiling (it's gross), and clean out the closet before we can move in the furniture and decorate!
Rant: Because I took Columbus Day off I have to work four 10 hour days this week and it sucks.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question!
2. Healthy babies
3. To end pregnancy/infant loss
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Raves: I win $500 on a $3 scratch off today
Rants: just the pain, it's consuming
@KathrynJ088 I'm trying to drink apple juice as well, but I haven't really wanted that either the past few days.
GTKY: If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for? Trying to think of something different for this week's question!
Oh my gosh you guys have such great answers!
1)for all my babies to be healthy happy, good people
2) enough money to pay off student loans and our mortgage (though I like @clovelyone style)
3) for people to truly listen to one another and take the time to consider where someone else is coming from
What rants/raves/questions/advice? Rants: I think I got food poisoning on monday... monday night was rough with so much nausea/dry heaving and I just couldn't get comfortable. yesterday I had no appetite and had the worst gas/belching and man I'm not sure I have ever heard/felt my stomach rumble so much. Then today its all coming out. Thankfully I feel a little better but man this is no fun
Raves: DH has been wonderful about helping out and letting me rest.
advice: I don't have a great back so I never wore the twins at once (except when they were itty bitty) I have heard wonderful things about the twin structured carrier.
@leilagphillips glad you passed your GD screen too and congrats on getting the room painted
@beary67 growing babies is physically exhausing, plus being on bed rest. You are such a trooper and I'm so glad your DH is taking such good care of you. Fx those boys stay put!
@KathrynJ088 keep us updated on the contractions. fx those babies stay put longer!

@tmk0325 Yay for passing your test!
But im the best way possible
Amd hell yes to winning all that cash from a $3 scratcher! Yes!!
@wabash15 NOOOOO BOOOOOO to food
poisoning!
Thanks to all for the well wishes for baby girl!
@breezybee I hope 3rd time is the charm in terms of contractors. I'm sure the urdge to want to just bring the babies home to the house is strong

A twin Mom in Feb lost one of her boy twins due to TTTS complications. They’ve got a love shower GIF thread going over there to send support to the Mom. It’s not much, but maybe she’ll feel some love right now. I read her blog, which is noted in this weeks Randoms thread in Feb, and just could not stop sobbing.
END TW
love and hugs to all of you. keep your babies cooking and healthy.

The past 3 days so it's time to nip it in the butt!
....starting tomorrow..

oh ladies one other option to a twin SSC is a wrap...

I’m glad that she’s feeling the love and support from everyone. She’s got a long road ahead, and she’ll need it.
I'm excited to capture my (likely) last pregnancy in the way that my husband sees me
It's hard not to cry when reading her blog.. If you have experienced a loss it may be a TW for you.
Baby shower tomorrow!!!!
