    1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
    28 weeks, eggplant

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
I really enjoy sitting in the nursery just thinking through how it will be to have a baby. Beyond that, things I enjoy lately include: Laying down, listening to music, deep breaths...staring at cute baby girl clothes.

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
I'm hoping we don't have to call anything "last minute" yet, but I still need to buy and set up the closet shelving unit for the nursery. I am waiting until 60 days before my due date so that my remaining registry items (shelves included) will be discounted 15%. That day can't come soon enough! Getting antsy.

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
Planning a hospital birth, unmedicated if possible but I'm staying open minded. I have some hopes that I will share with the nurses during L&D, but as of now I don't plan to print them out.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
She is moving more now, and feels more like a baby and less like a goldfish. Lately she is just all over the place.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:
Rant: My 4 year old cat had 12 teeth removed yesterday due to gum disease. I feel so bad for her. She is in lots of pain.
Rave: My mom was in town for 4 days and helped throw us a baby shower at my MIL's house. It was really nice, lots of aunts in attendance from both sides of the family, and cousins from my husband's side. We played a game where we came up with facts in advance about my husbands and my childhood, and people had to guess if the fact was about him or me or both of us.

Hope you all have a nice week!

mammaharvey Thanks for starting the thread!

  • hey @mammaharvey, thanks for starting us up!
aw @muskratbaby, sorry about your cat. I hope she's feeling better soon.

    1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
    31 weeks.  Asparagus?

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)

My snoogle pillow and definitely supportive partner.

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
So much!  We aren't doing a shower before, but getting together the few things we'll want to have before.  We are reorganizing lots of our space right now within our rooms upstairs, and in the whole collective.
I'm trying not to stress about it too much, and work on one thing at a time.  It might not all be "perfect" before baby comes, but that's ok too.

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
Hospital birth with a practice we love that's midwives and OB's.  We have a wonderful doula who we're practicing hypnobirthing with now in preparation.  Hopefully unmedicated, but we shall see... I am also trying to keep an open mind.  We are working on the birth plan this week!

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
Baby has been SO active pretty much from the beginning.  I think we have a little acrobat.  My placenta is also towards the back, so we've been feeling pretty much every little thing.  So many hiccups these past few weeks as well, which is super cute and also can be annoying!

At the midwife last week, she said baby was head down, but I just really can't tell when I feel around.  Hopefully that's still the case!  We have a 32nd week ultrasound next week due to my age and to check in with the position of my fibroids so we'll see soon!
I am so so hopeful it'll all be good news that says that a vaginal birth will be possible based on the positioning of the fibroids.  At 20 weeks, I was told that was the case.  So FX and praying for sure.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:
Rave- I had a 3 day weekend, and amidst lots of busy-ness and running around, I got to get a prenatal massage yesterday.  It was just lovely.  I think I fell asleep a bit on the table, drooling.

  • @Kirss - that ultrasound pic! So adorable!

    1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
    32 weeks. Jicama/loaf of bread/squash

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
I don't know that I've really had one, and maybe that's part of my problem recently... DH is fairly supportive, though.

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
Haha, everything?  Kitchen is finally starting to become useable but the nursery hasn't even been started yet and is still full of kitchen stuff.  Haven't really bought much for baby yet because there isn't any place to put it.  The one thing that IS done that I'm happy about is DH has gotten his TDaP and flu shots (I gave them to him myself so he wouldn't procrastinate).

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
Medicated and hospital.  I don't really have a plan, but I've got a rough idea and DH is aware of/aligned with my preferences.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
Moving a lot still!  Not so many kicks, but lots of shifting, wiggling, rolling, and hiccups.  I have no clue which way he's facing.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:
I'm sooooo ready for this remodel to be done.  Our cooktop is in and works, so the only big piece we have left is the oven (although that'll be a huge pain).  After that it's just finishes/trim and organization.
  • @muskratbaby Sorry about your cat.

@collectiveliving FXed your fibroids stay out of the way.

@Kirss Cute pic! Maybe try Googling the manufacturer's name + sliding door replacement parts.

@rebeckyjoy We're in the same boat on the nursery. We haven't started that yet. Good luck with your remodeling!

    1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
30+4 with di/di twins the size of zucchini.

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
My SO, bless his heart! And of course ice cream.

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
Everything! I need to get a new SUV and we've done nothing for the nursery. Still haven't chosen a daycare or a pediatrician and I need to see if my insurance will cover a breast pump.

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
    Definitely a medicated hospital birth.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
They are moving a lot, but never on demand when I want someone to feel it.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:
Although we aren't prepared yet, I'm ready for 37 weeks LOL.
  • Thanks @clovelyone!
I totally still have tons of preparation to do as well.

  • 1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
    28+3 with mo/di twin girls

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
Definitely my husband. He’s been been a consistently amazing partner through this whole thing, and I’m so happy about it. Also, my snoogle and cable tv.

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
So much to do. We have the nursery set up, but it has nothing nothing in it besides the 2 cribs and dresser. We need to put together the closet system and buy everything that we don’t get at our showers. It’s a lot. We have a lot to do.

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
Definitely not doing a Home birth with twins. I don’t have a birth plan, because anything could happen.  I’ll most likely have a c section and it will be as medicated as possible lol.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
These babies are super active!  They’ve been getting more active every week since week 22. Baby B is head down and Baby A Ian breech. They’ve been that way for a looooong time, so I’m not sure if that’ll change.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:
This pregnancy is FLYING BYYYYYYYY!!!!  My doctor told me that I only have 6 freakin weeks left. Holy hell thats basically tomorrow. I’m just trying to not get overwhelmed by the amount of things that need to get done. One day at a time you guys.

Hope everyone’s having a great week!
  • @clovelyone the only markings I've seen on the door, is the glass, and I contacted them, and they basically told me I'm S.O.L. because they just make glass and sell it to door/window people. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'm sure we'll figure something out.
@breezybee I think this pregnancy has been flying too! vroom vroom! lol

  • @muskratbaby I hope your cat feels better soon.
@collectiveliving I had a prenatal massage this past weekend and I fell asleep too! haha
    @Kirss adorable ultrasound pic!!
@rebeckyjoy You are lucky that you're able to give your DH his shots... I am going to have to drag him to CVS sometime this month.
@clovelyone I highly recommend aeroflow for ordering your breast pump through insurance! It's so easy to fill out their online form and they figure out the insurance logistics for you.
@breezybee omg 6 weeks sounds so close!!! Time is freaking FLYING.

    1. How far along are you now? How big is baby? 31w (+4d)

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
    DH and my snoogle!

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
I have to set up baby's nursery area once the furniture arrives (in our bedroom), install the car seat, buy the rest of the stuff on our registry, take all the baby/birth prep classes, wash baby clothes... the list goes on and on.  :s

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
I'm planning for an unmedicated birth at the hospital with an open mind. I don't have a plan in place but have a general idea of what I want (re. delayed cord clamping etc.). We'll be discussing the official "plan" with our doula next month.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet? His moves are stronger and more frequent- and at times annoying (e.g. when he kicks my already sore ribs). Still, I love the constant reminder that he is doing well in there!

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves: My rant this week is my freaking boobs that are growing at a speed that I can't comprehend. I keep buying the wrong size and when I then exchange for a larger size, the fit is weird. Clearly I need to get to a physical store instead of subjecting myself to this via amazon... but I don't wanna!! (somebody call a wambulance!)
  • @muskratbaby I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I hope she's doing okay.

@collectiveliving Our babies have been really active from the start too! It's fun, but also a little nerve-wracking that none of our birth plans can be set in stone until we get closer to full term.

@kirss Usually those 3d US pics kind of creep me out, but yours is really cute!

@rebeckyjoy I'm glad you've finally got at least part of your kitchen back! We plan to do a major remodel to our kitchen in a few years (when we've saved up enough) and hearing about the experiences you and @breezybee are having makes me really glad I won't be pregnant when it happens!

@clovelyone I could never get movement on demand either from my LOs until the other day when DH basically poked me (semi-gently lol) in the stomach a million different ways and then they FREAKED OUT! One got the hiccups and the other was just rolling and kicking all over the place. DH was so happy and excited because he actually elicited a response from them for the first time and he could clearly feel them moving like crazy.

@breezybee Having twins definitely makes it seem like all plans equal "do what the doctor tells you to do." Also, you're doctor is expecting you to deliver at 34 weeks?! Is that the norm with mo/di twins?

@blueskies17 I saw your list on the other thread, man that thing is thorough! I was glad to see the section on making arrangements for your bunny. I have a bunny too, in addition to cats and a dog, so it reminded me that I have to make pet sitting plans for all of them as well!

    1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
29w4d, the size of a New England Cotton Tail :)

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
Probably DH and my mom (though both of them have also driven me crazy lately, as husbands and mothers are wont to do).

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
Oh there's still SO much to do. The major ones include installing the car seats and getting them inspected, finishing the nursery, getting all my projects wrapped up at work / transitioning certain duties to colleagues, lots and lots of cleaning, and filling out the birth certificate paperwork ahead of time (it's twice the work for twins).

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
As @breezybee and @clovelyone mentioned, with twins definitely a medicated hospital birth for me too. I have a few "birth wishes" if they're possible, but I know that I need to be flexible.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
They move more some days than others, but I always feel them at least a little bit every day. I can't tell who's who at all though. At my last growth scan they were moving all over the place so neither had settled into a position yet. I'll see where our boy is (Twin A, the one who determines whether I have a CS or not) next week, though it might still be too early to make any decisions.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:

Rant/Rave: We're about to have work done on our house to get the unfinished half of our attic turned into a playroom/den area. I'm really excited to get it done, but kind of stressed over the timing. Really hoping the contractor gods smile down on us and allow this project to go smoothly!

  • @leilagphillips She said we still have to keep them in there for at least 6 more weeks. But they want them to stay in for 37
  • @breezybee Oh okay! I know that 50% of twins are born at 35 weeks and considering how far ahead our boy is measuring, I'm thinking there's a good chance our LOs could run out of space around then and show up for Thanksgiving. We're trying to get all preparations done before then!
  • I've enjoying reading all of your posts this week. Thanks for all the cat well-wishes! She seems to be healing okay, eating well, etc. Maybe a little drowsy still, but who isn't when the weather starts to cool off? :)
  • 1. How far along are you now? How big is baby?
    29+5 today. Pineapple sized

    2. What has been your biggest "security blanket" item during your pregnancy so far? (Ex: heating pad for that sore back, Your supportive husband?  Ice cream?)
Definitely my husband. I never have to ask for anything.

    3. What last minute errands/preparations do you still have to do? If any..
Still a lot to do but 10 weeks left so I don't consider anything to be last minute.

    4.  Are you planning a home birth, hospital birth? Medicated, unmedicated? Do you have a birth plan in place?
Hospital with midwife, no drugs I hope.

    5.  How is baby moving? More or less in the last couple weeks? Has baby moved head down yet?
He's all over. It's so bizarre and awesome. I could watch my stomach all day long. I have no idea if he's head down.. but I still have 10 weeks so even if he is it doesn't mean that he'd stay that way.

    6. Anything extra! Rants and/or Raves:
Exhausted from my kindergarteners. They are so cute but omg.
