Re: Weekly Chat - 10/1

  • What are you looking forward to this week?
It’s looking to be a pretty chill week overall. Nothing big or little going on that I can think of. Oh I did work in the infant room at Bible study today. It was nice to play and cuddle the little ones.

    What are you dreading?
    Nothing comes to mind

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week?
Wet vacing the basement this weekend

    Random thoughts?
I need to add in s good extra 20 minutes whenever I make a new recipe.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Hmm I like what I do now staying home with DS

  • Hey everyone! How quiet it has been here lately!  I have been super busy and haven't been around and I guess others are in the same boat.

What are you looking forward to this week? I'm going home to spend the day with my parents on Saturday. I haven't been home at a while because we've been traveling so much on the weekends, and it'll be good to see them.

What are you dreading? Nothing I can think of.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week?  This is a little sad, but let's be honest, it's realistic right now lol - my goal is to work out at least one time. I have totally fallen off the wagon.

Random thoughts? It's good to be back here and posting!  The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. Work has been super busy, and both weekends we were busy.  This past weekend was my BIL's wedding which was a lot of fun. They had it in a really gorgeous location in the mountains. We didn't have much time to actually explore the area so I'd really like to go back sometime and hike.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I'd probably foster a whole bunch of dogs, haha. Then when I needed a break from my giant dog pack, I'd hire a petsitter for a while and go travel the world.

  • @kindbytealikat I think any sort of "cook time" listed with recipes is a lie lol. I always end up taking so much longer than the recipe says!!

@diaphena good luck with working out. I've been saying that I'd start for months now...hasn't happened :/

Looking forward to: a friends baby shower on Thursday!! It's her first and I'm so excited for her!!

Dreading: nothing I can think of.

Goals/accomplishments: either get the kitchen counter cleaned off, in front of the fireplace cleaned, or the garage organized. We moved back in June and still have stuff packed/unorganized/needing fixed. I went on a cleaning binge during my lunch break though and got through a lot of kitchen stuff!

    No random

GTKY: probably shop and drink wine with DH at one of the wine bars near us. We love wine, but some places are super expensive :/

  • I'm late to the game!

What are you looking forward to this week?
Going with my in-laws and all the kids to get pumpkins on Saturday.

What are you dreading? Everything.  Life.  I need to vent and I don't know where else to do it.  The last three weeks have been really rocky with DH and I.  I told a white lie when we first started to date to protect his feelings and I finally fessed up after some real pressure.  It did not go well.  Things have been so up and down and all over the place.  Now DH says he doesn't believe anything I say.  I'm not really sure what to do.  I love him more than anything and I want this to blow over and it won't.  I really regret lying to begin with.  I've said that we should be in therapy to get past it several times and he says no.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? Survive mentally intact

    Random thoughts?

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Spent time with DD and DH  :) lots more exercise, and lots of trips!
  • @KFrob I’m sorry you and DH are going through this.

  • @kindbytealikat Did your basement flood?

@diaphena Which mountains? Have a fun visit and good luck with the exercise.

@CecilB93 wine sounds nice! Is the shower for a boy or girl? Any pintrest-level ideas?

@KFrob *internet hugs* Hopefully H just needs time to either move past this or get on board with therapy. Time heals all wounds and such. You could try planning a nice date to refocus the relationship on the positive.

What are you looking forward to this week? We have a pumpkin pick and hayride on Saturday afternoon that should be fun, and then going out to dinner with my sister and BIL Saturday night.

What are you dreading? Moving into the TWW on Saturday. I know, sounds weird, but it's just going to be a lot of BSC symptom spotting and stress and anxiety.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? Lots of sex I suppose?

    Random thoughts?

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would want to be a hotel or restaurant critic.

  • @KFrob So sorry you're dealing with this rough situation. I agree with @lifesabeach85 that time will help.  He may come around to the idea of couple's therapy - or if he's anything like MH he might just need some time to process it on his own.

@lifesabeach85 It was up in the Smokies near the Tennessee border. Very much in the middle of nowhere, we took a long winding road to get there. Enjoy your Saturday, your plans sound fun!

@CecilB93 I know, I always do the same thing where it takes me forever to get myself back on track - I keep putting it off.  Hope you enjoy the baby shower!

    @kindbytealikat Enjoy your chill week!
  • @lifesabeach85 so the basement flooded back in Feb/March but after getting a mold check and a grandparent giving us a large cash gift we decided to do a remodel down there we’d been putting off. We just need to re wet vac the main room to make sure any construction crap is up so we can finally move in the stuff to make it a play room

  • @kindbytealikat That's nice that you had the opportunity to play with the little ones!

@diaphena Enjoy the visit with your parents! What sort of dogs would you foster, given the choice?

@CecilB93 Yeah, "cook time" is usually a lie. Every oven and stove is different, and it also depends on the vessel you're using. Have a good time at the baby shower! Unpacking is never fun.

@KFrob I'm sorry you're going through all of that with your DH :( Hopefully things will cool down soon and it'll go back to normal *creepy internet hug*

@lifesabeach85 The pumpkin picking sounds awesome. I'd love to do something like that, but the only place around that does is like $25 a person to enter, which is stupid. Good luck with the sex this week!

What are you looking forward to this week? I honestly don't know. We've had a hectic week, so it'll be nice to just stay home after work.

What are you dreading? I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. It's our schedule bid and there's going to be a lot of crabby people because they didn't get what they wanted for their bid.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? I want to get the house cleaned back up. We had some friends over on Monday night and cleaned up in record time, but I have to re-clean, since we didn't really have time to clean up after they left, and yesterday was a busy day.

Random thoughts? I had a CT scan on Monday morning for the pain in my groin. Waiting for the results. Getting an MRI for the pain in my foot next Monday, so that'll be fun. Hoping they don't stick me all the way in the tube, since it's just my foot.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Probably stay home and bake. Be a housewife kinda thing.

  • @KFrob so sorry your DH isn't really giving you a chance to work things out. I agree with the suggestion of planning a nice date to refocus your relationship.

@lifesabeach85 it's for a girl!! And I have a son, so it was hard to not go crazy buying girly things! So I focused more on needs, things other than clothes, haha. I did get one sleeper though...couldn't resist! What do you mean by Pinterest-level ideas? For our kitchen? Nothing yet, lol. Just trying to get rid of clutter!

@dreamscapes_ good luck with your MRI and CT scan results!

  • @KFrob hopefully he just needed a little time and all is well

@diaphena I've been pretty busy myself. I guess it's the time of year, but I guess things won't really calm down until after the holidays!

What are you looking forward to this week?

We are going on vacation to Branson and to visit DH's family later today! I'm going to stay off social media and just enjoy it.

    What are you dreading?

The drive with a toddler. Always makes it take so much longer. Here's hoping he takes a long nap!

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week?

    Just relax!!!!

    Random thoughts?

I hope I don't gain too much weight on vacation....

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?

I would go to museums and/or theme parks every day!

  • I'm looking forward to getting a retainer out at orthos, I'm dreading going tho! Want to accomplish cleaning house and I put myself on weight loss plan to prep for pregnancy (not TTC) just yet but I don't want to be my size at my age.....being over weight already is a health risk, it's worse at my age and just trying to be as healthy as I can before we try. I'm taking prenatal and folic. If money wasn't an issue, I would be a stay at home mom have more babies, adopt and enjoy doing that.
  • @KFrob Happy to hear things are better with you two!

@lalala2004 I like your GTKY answer, I wish I had thought of that. Haha :) And yeah I've been looking at the calendar and realizing the same thing, we have very few breaks between now and after the holidays.... yikes.

@ihope36 Yay for getting your retainer out!  I always hated my ortho appointments cause I hate having someone all up in my mouth like that, but... having nice straight teeth is worth it :)

@dreamscapes_ That is a tough question to answer because I very rarely meet a dog I do not like, haha. My dog, who I adore, is a beagle mix, and I always get excited when I see dogs that look like her - so I'd probably end up with a bunch of little beagles and hound dogs. Which would be very loud lol.  Also, to respond to your question in the other thread - I will happily take recommendations on PNVs. I don't even really know what to look for in a good prenatal, to be honest.  This is me and anything TTC related..

  • Gah, I just discovered that I typed all of this up Tuesday night and never posted it.  So now all of the responses I had written to everyone are irrelevant.  Sigh.

@kindbytealikat That's really great that you are able to stay home with DS and that you really enjoy it.

@diaphena That sounds really nice to see your parents.  Do they live nearby?  Also, I don't know much about PNVs, but I'm never taking one with fish oil again.  I actually went through a bottle no problem, they didn't smell or taste fishy at all, but the next bottle was awful. It was hard to swallow and gave me fishy burps all day.  I found a separate DHA pill that's vegan.  It actually gives me lemony burps.

@CecilB93 My will power to not buy all of the tiny newborn clothes is getting weaker and weaker.  I'm impressed with your resistance.

@KFrob I'm so glad you and your husband made up!

@dreamscapes_ Good luck with all the scans.  Did you get a good schedule in the bid?

What are you looking forward to this week?
DH doesn't have rehearsal tomorrow night, so he'll actually be home to hang out.  We'll probably watch some TV and go to bed super early.  I'm pretty excited.

    What are you dreading?
I made it through the rest of the week, so the parts I was dreading are now behind me.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week?
Sex.  We actually had some last night, though!  So I'm planning to hit tomorrow and Saturday as well.

    Random thoughts?
I've got a slight headache, which usually means I'm getting sick.  I really hope I'm not.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Hm... Craft projects? And I'd pay someone to clean up after me.  I'd pick up a lot of new crafts, too.

  • @secretstapler I just kept telling myself she'll get plenty of clothes for her baby girl, so I focused on things she needed from her registry that I could afford. I know for my baby shower people pretty much ignored my registries and got whatever they wanted. But I picked the things I did for reasons, not randomly. So I figured I'd get her exactly what she wanted, lol. Plus, if all goes well, I'll have or be close to having my own baby this time next year, and I'm always buying baby clothes for my kid, lol.

  • @diaphena that gif is fantastic!
  • @Secretstapler Fishy burps sounds awful! I will try to avoid fish oil. Maybe a separate DHA supplement like you're doing will be a good idea for me. Thanks!   My parents live about 1.5-2 hours away, so not too far. Close enough for a day trip! Hope you enjoy a relaxing night with DH. I am always ready to go to bed early by Friday.

@CecilB93 the last baby shower I went to, I got a few confused looks cause I actually got something off the registry, lol. It was a really nice set of bottles!! Literally everyone else brought baby clothes only. Oh well!

@KFrob Right?? I watched it for the longest time just cracking up lol
  • @diaphena ugh, why even have registries if people aren't going to buy off them?!

    Potential TW? Kids mentioned.

So we're babysitting some friends little boy who's about 3 months younger than my son (16 & 19 months). It's crazy to me how much they learn and change in that short of time! I forgot what it was like to have a little one that's not a total toddler-tornado, lol. But this is just preparing me for two kids! My poor son is pretty jealous, lol.

  • @CecilB93 I actually got a voice mail from my doctor today saying that the CT was normal, but that there may be cysts and they want me to have a follow up MRI or ultrasound in 6 weeks? Which confuses me, because I had an ultrasound done already to check for that and they said it was clear. I'm gonna call them back probably on Monday (I don't think her PA is there on the weekends). The MRI is also Monday, so we'll see how that goes. Thanks!

    @lalala2004 Enjoy your vacation!

@ihope36 Good luck with getting the retainer out!

@diaphena Dogs are just amazing in general. I wish we could have one, but we have neither the space nor the time right now. I just use Naturemade's prenatal multi with DHA. It's a little fishy, but I think that was because I ordered it from Amazon and the bottle was warm when I first opened it. I think with prenatals, it's really just what works best for you. The one I take has everything my regular multi had, plus the prenatal things added, so it works well for me. Also, that gif is hilarious.

@Secretstapler I did! I got mornings, with Tues/Wed off, which was what I wanted. DH has those days off, so it'll be nice to have our days off together for once. Hope you guys managed to have some sex!

  • @dreamscapes_ glad the CT was normal! I honestly know nothing about cysts, especially in that area...So I'm hoping they're able to give you some more insight. Hopefully the MRI gives you some answers for your foot.
