@MKmandeville Glad you made it to 35 weeks, even though I know you are miserable! LO is in a much better place now and I'm hoping in great shape upon arrival! Looking forward to hearing when you have an outside baby!!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

    1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby? 34 weeks. Butternut squash.

    2. How are you feeling?
I'm OK. I'm freaking out that the baby will be here so soon and I don't feel ready.

    3. Any appointments this week?
Yes, 34-week appt, my last every-2-weeker. I will be on once a week at my next one.

    4. Rants, raves, questions.
Baby has been much more sporadic about movement and it is constantly worrying me. I wish I could just enjoy pregnancy.

    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
Hmmm that is a great question. I predict a few days after my due date. I wish he would just come when he's ready but it's being super-managed due to my "age" - 39 - and I won't be allowed to go too far past 40 weeks.

    34 weeks, squash?

    2. How are you feeling?
he decided to turn a little after dropping this weekend so now he's elongated and loves pushing his elbow out my belly button. I'm tired and ANXIOUS.

    3. Any appointments this week?
had an ultrasound and appointment yesterday. Ultrasound looked good so no clue why I was contracting so much or still do. Really thought they would have checked me this appointment since I was 1cm on Thursday but they didn't and that's fine. I don't go again for 2 weeks.

    4. Rants, raves, questions.
I'm feeling selfish, my baby shower is this weekend and I check the registry and hardly anything is bought, I don't think the mom's are getting anything. MIL offered to forgive DHs debt to them which sounds selfish but that doesn't help me, he will find something else non family related to spend it on when he has free money down the line leaving me to figure out how I'll afford the rest of this stuff.  She wants to buy diapers but again, I'm a control freak and I don't want to just have diapers laying around that I can't use if LO grows out of them and I may not like the brand she gifts.

    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
baby will probably try to come early like the others. Which means I have about 3 weeks left, still booked appointments until 39 weeks.

    2. How are you feeling?
Baby is all up in my pelvis which isn't super comfortable. Other than that, pretty good! Tired and excited.

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Nope.

    4. Rants, raves, questions.
Nothing really... It's crazy that we're getting so close, especially those of you who are due at the beginning of November! I guess some of you are already almost full term. So exciting!

    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
Hmm, I don't know if I can predict! I *hope* baby will come a little bit early (if and only if he/she is done cooking) since its head was measuring quite large at the anatomy scan. However, I arrived two weeks late, and my twin brothers also arrived almost a week late, so who knows. I'm due the day after Thanksgiving, and if baby isn't here by then, I'll definitely look like a fully stuffed turkey.

    2. How are you feeling?
feeling fine. Sometimes I get tired but for the next two weeks I'm still pretty busy and sometimes I'm pn my feet a lot so it makes sense.  I was very lucky in that I haven't had a lot of symptoms or problems and have continued with most of my normal activity reducing intensity or amending as required so feeling pretty healthy
    3. Any appointments this week?
not this week but we are now switched to fortnightly visits so next week I have another midwife appointment. This will include a bonus vitamin D blood test as it came back low from my GT and I've been taking it since.
also strep B swab. Which I'm not looking forward to .
I'll also be having a formal US and seeing an OB much to my disappointment as baby currently is presenting breech . When the midwife checked positioning last appointment she confirmed with an US and noted to check next time. If they are still breech at next appointment "we will discuss options"
    so bit concerned
trying to not worry since she wasn't concerned yet and we still have 2 weeks till term so I'm just going to work on prenatal exercises and yoga and ciese inversions if at next appointment they are head down .

I have massive anxiety around medical procedures and my gut renching fear of cesareans pre dates even the thought that I would have kids .well before the risk or prospect would even apply to me so the idea that I may have no chance of a choice in how my birth and recovery go terrifies me
Disclaimer I realise that the most important thing is a safe delivery and healthy bub and many women give birth via c section for lots of reasons and it ultimately is what it is .
However this is obviously an irrational fear in every way but it's very hard to control that emotional response. No amount of calm logical thinking changes how upsetting it is
So my next appointment is going to be a Lil rough
Still grateful I'm in otherwise good health and am just actively exercising to promote optimal position . And trusting we still have time for bub to turn .

    4. Rants, raves, questions.

    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
can't really say. I'm hoping for within our due week . I feel like we won't be ready in time if bub  comes early but for the above reason I don't want to go over enough to require intervention plus my dad's birthday is exactly 1 week after our EDD and I'm making the cake so be nice not to let people down there.

    4. Rants, raves, questions.
just DH driving me nuts! And worried about work/maternity leave.
    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
I'm hoping and praying he comes right on time. I have these awful feelings hell come very early or he'll be so late I'll need to induce. I do not want to induce at all but DH leaves for 6 weeks 2 weeks after my due date and I need him there. If I have to I will induce before he goes but I'm really praying it doesn't come down to that. Also were due 2 days before thanksgiving (thanksgiving being my brothers birthday) so I'm praying he's not late but it also worries me he'll be super early like my one bff..due the same day but last year, she came exactly 4 weeks early! I have too much to do in Oct for him to come that early.

    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
DS was 4 days early, so maybe she’ll follow suit! But my brother, who was 2nd born, was 10 days late, and I was 5 days early, so I guess she could decide to stay in a bit longer. I have a feeling she’ll be early, though.

@MKMandeville I hate when doctors predict you will go early and then you anticipate it only to still be pregnant at 39w and they start tactics to help labor start. So stressful for the mamma! Here’s hoping your LO keeps cooking until he/she is ready to come out!

I have a feeling he will be here a little bit early, especially if his stubborn butt doesn't turn. He has been transverse pretty much my entire pregnancy. My OB won't let me go past my due date since I'm an IVF and there are studies about increased risk of going over 40 weeks. At worst we would induce a day or so before my due date

    5. GTKY: Do you predict your baby will come before, after or right on your due date/scheduled c-section date?
DD was 1 day early and measured a day ahead at ALL of her US, this one measured 1 day behind, so I am guessing one day late. But baby has been measuring smaller each time we have a scan, so probably late.

@foxairt Good luck turning baby! I understand your fears of csection because I had them with my first. Don't get sucked into the "healthy mom and baby should be good enough for you" guilt. If you do need a csection you are allowed, and need to be allowed, to mourn the birth you wanted.

@foxairt I know your c-section fear is real. I just want to reassure you that it is actually a pretty easy surgery. After I had DD via an emergency C, I did "mourn" not getting the vaginal birth experience, but there were a lot of positives as well. I had no tearing or other super sensitive tissue issues, just one small scar that is easily hidden by a bathing suit. With pain meds I literally was never in pain from the recovery. The baby is right there, the surgery is quick ,and in the procedure itself you will be oblivious to what is actually going on until you hear the baby cry.

DD was almost 4 weeks early due to my water breaking. I have a RCS scheduled for 39w4d. None of th docs I've met with think I'll go that long just due to my history but I haven't experienced any premature labor symptoms. It was surreal to hear the doc say today "let's see if you make it to your weekly appts" I'm starting to feel a bit anxious about it all.

Oh I totally appreciate that. And the sentiment . And hearing people's different experiences defiantly builds a more grounded picture in my mind And i do have a rational and logical educated side who understands if it comes to it that it is the best option and I even mentor women on self acceptance forgiveness and love at all points of them self as part of the dance classes i instruct. but that's not the person in control of my reactions . I'm not worried about pain as much as the unnatural interference with my physiology . And actually the idea of being rendered immobile and having no sense or feeling  of what is being done to my body and essentially zero control  is exactly the seed of fear . I think not feeling and not seeing and being essentially cut out of the experience is worse in my mind
As far as scarring goes it's not so easily hidden when your a professional nude model and burlesque performer or from yourself in the mirror or from my husband but then there are body changes already in play that are my new self . And there will always be an adjustment time to learn and love your new form.. I have piercing scars i already deal with  which indicate it could keloid and not be an easily hidden blemish.  Largely I accept them as scarification piece which I chose to put there and they are in the same decorative assembly as the initial piercings unsure how I could sell a c sec scar to myself as part of my modification . Regardless it would be . Being modified as a person into a mother is pretty major and maybe none of it will be a problem
the longer term healing of lower abdominal muscles that are opened and the implications of future pregnancies tho with the surgery does bother me . Since my occupations and my lifestyle is so physically based

But of cause these are all just branches of one and the same anxiety issue I actually cope with daily. And I think I just don't have the mental equipment to forgive myself the situation or the emotional capacity to cope in the procedure . It actually terrifies me. Leaving me concerned about how I'd go connecting to the baby .
There's a lot of things people tell you that you'll feel or are natural but what do you do when they aren't
I think somehow I feel if I can cope with the birth I'll believe I'm able to do the rest but if I loose the chance to prove that to myself I can't ever feel like I wasn't just handed a baby..
(Rediculous. .. I know .. but knowing a spider can't hurt you somehow doesn't stop your skin crawling. )

Having never even had blood drawn till I got pregnant and the only time I've ever been in hospital for anything was when I was born.. surgery in general and medical procedure is a high anxiety point.

I know it's just the beginning of a story and not the whole journey and in no time however the baby arrives it'll fade into obscurity of past events and life moves forward i to the important bits but much of the time I just hold on to positivity by a thread and a lot of that is knowing I can control myself my reaction my actions in all situations
Having that get taken away will make it very hard to feel adequate to the remaining task

I suppose it isn't as simple as being scared of and c section it's fearing myself facing that .and the chance I won't cope.
