It's October and Halloween costumes and parties are coming soon! Are you going to be dressing up? Have any ideas for fun costumes that accommodate or show off the bump?
I had a bump at Halloween last pregnancy (8.5 months along) and dressed up as a clown. It was really fun. Sorry for the close crop, it was a group shot.
We have a Halloween party next weekend at 20 weeks and I'm not sure what to dress up as yet. I also dress up with my kids to take them trick or treating, so whatever I go with has to work at 24 weeks, also.
We have a halloween party every year and I've been so excited to do a pregnancy costume. I think we are going to do the one where I dress as a 1950's housewife and DH dresses as a milkman!
I'm an X-Ray and MRI tech so I wanted to do something all in black with the white bones, and add a little baby skeleton onto my belly. I'm so excited for this!!
I'm going to do something simple and wear a black shirt and tin foil the bump area of the shirt and have a Barbie hanging off a necklace (a Miley Cyrus wrecking ball costume). Last time I was pregnant at Halloween I did a Humpty Dumpty costume with my belly as the egg and a printed box around my waste as the brick wall, it went over really well.
My three year old is obsessed with clocks. Last year he wanted to be a "vampire clock". This year he wants to be Cogsworth and the costume has to be able transform back and forth to a human
DD born Oct 2011 - DS#1 born Jan 2014 - DS#2 born Apr 2015 - DS#3 born Sept 2016 - LO#5 due Feb 7, 2018
@lainikins I think DH might play along, but he also has a blow up T-Rex costume that he hasn't gotten to use yet. Getting DS to dress up with me might work better!
@3plus1equals4, my son wanted me to be Princess Peach. I am not going to be Pregnant Princess Peach while he is Mario. Not happening. He was ok with this solution.
DD1 will be a tornado. DD2 will be a cow. I will be a house. DH will be on a hunting trip and won’t be home until that evening. We only do the trick or treating the business district of our town during the afternoon.
We do trunk or treat at our church every year and I decided to go with a Day of the Dead theme this go 'round. In keeping with the decorations I'm planning I ordered this poncho from Grandin Road & will pair it with black leggings, a black long sleeved tee, and sugar skull makeup. I just want to be comfy!
I will probably do this again for work. I work at a school and the kids loved it last time I was pregnant. Plus I still have the shirt and some black felt

This is what I'm doing! Except I bought my shirt off of amazon.

I love this one! I've done a pretty good job of hiding my bump from my students. 1 or 2 might have their suspicions, but otherwise I think they're pretty oblivious (they're at that age...) I'm going to get the shirt on Amazon and wear it as my "coming out" costume at school.
Both boys want to be ghosts. DH won't dress up. I'll get a cute tee shirt for handing out candy. At work we go all out and actually have a contest between the teams. We're doing Dr. Seuss this year and I'm going to be a Sneetch with the star on my belly
I’ll probably end up doing the pumpkin one too. DH is a neuroscience PhD student right now and really wanted to make DS (15mo) a scientist and have me and DH be lab mice...but we’re planning to go to Halloween at the zoo and they might not appreciate the reference to animal testing, eep. DH is pretty used to it since it’s his job so I had to point out the potential backlash to his costume idea...

As the wife of a scientist, I can totally appreciate this costume, but I understand what you mean about the zoo peeps not seeing the humor
These are all so cute!! @karcerplus3 I love the Sneetches idea
I was pregnant during Halloween last time, and totally intended to dress up... but ended up celebrating by eating an entire bag of Reeces PB Cups instead. I don't know if I'll have time to put together a costume this year. DD is going to be a "scary monster", and I plan to sew that one. I like the idea of the pumpkin shirt, that's cute and I could get away with wearing it to work.
My dream family costume is Princess Buttercup, Westley, and the kids as ROUSes Perhaps next year...
I'm not sure what I'll do. Probably just a shirt. H is going to wear his Deadpool jacket and mask. Dd1 is going to wear a dinosaur jumpsuit and dd2 an owl jumpsuit. Ds2 is going to be a stormtrooper and dd3 chose a Wonder Woman costume,

DD is going to be Boo from Monster's Inc and I'll be Mike (painting a big eyeball on a green shirt) and DH will be Sully (painting purple spots on a blue shirt). Overall a cheap year on costumes but DD makes the cutest Boo so we had to lol.
@ahoneycutt12 We did something kind of similar for halloween last year. I wasn't pregnant at the time but...I found an adult Sully pajama onesie to match the Mike costume my son picked out (his room is Monster's Inc. themed) and then my sister came over dressed as boo and we took him around the neighborhood. I was so sad my husband was working 2 hours away and ended up missing trick or treating otherwise he was going to dress up as Roz haha this year, we haven't taken DS to look for a costume yet but I found a really cute/seemingly warm lion costume I'm going to try to magically persuade him to like in the store. If he does, then my husband and I both have lion pajama onesies and we can be a 'lion pack' haha
@ahoneycutt12 when did your DD turn 2? My DS turned 2 in June and he has A LOT of opinions. He mostly lets us dress him but not for bed. His pajamas are the gentleman's choice, always. We passed the costume section of Babies R Us recently and he pointed at the Mike costume he wore last year. I would just re-use if we could squeeze him into it lol Enjoy the fact that she lets you dress her for all long as you can! I hear little girls can be become rather opinionated on that matter
@amb929 Her birthday was Sept 29th. She definitely has her I won't wear that kind of days and I know better than to put anything with big bows or those super frilly pants because that is just asking for a toddler tantrum
