R/R: No rants yet, it is too early! Rave: Hump day!!! We have a fun weekend planned of seeing friends and taking a mini road trip so I am just focused on making it through the work week.
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday and why? I love Thanksgiving...I'm all about the food and family, and a 4-day weekend! And I like that there's not a big commercial aspect to it. Give me some turkey and stuffing and I am a happy girl!

R/R: I O'd 5 days earlier than expect. A full FW. I caught it with an OPK but H got performance anxiety so that was unsuccessful. I'm going to have to stop telling him about my FW since this is the second cycle this has happened. I'm just frustrated about it today. Rave: I have pumpkin decorating with my BFF tonight.
GTKY: Christmas. I'm not terribly religious but I love the spirit of giving. People tend to be kinder to one another. It's cozy. And my family all gets together every year for it. It's getting to be the only time we're all together.

One of my besties from vet school is coming tomorrow to stay with me for a week since we have 2 weddings on back to back weekends and she lives over on CO, so she is staying here! I haven't seen her in 3 years and I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE HER!!!! SO today is all about getting the guest room ready- I have a little basket of cotton balls and Q-tips and tissues, moisturizer, nail file, razors, and a few good books set up in the guest room for her. What else would you want/need if you were staying with a friend for a week as far as grooming supplies?
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas!!!!! As an agnostic/athiest I don't care about the religious part of it, but the spirit of Christmas is all that is good in the world- friends and family coming together, overwhelming love and joy, the spirit of giving to others- especially those less fortunate, helping out your fellow man, big meals shares with friends, parties to celebrate the season- it is all MAGICAL.
@quiltandknit How are things going on your end? Are you off the bench this next month? The mini road trip sounds fun. Are your friends going on the road trip too or are you just driving to see them?

@MrsMiller8588 You are killing it with these workouts! I am super impressed by your dedication. (Also, I'm a big fan of both of those holidays too...fall into winter is my favorite time of year).
@SkilledSailor Ugh! That happened to me two cycles ago and I was completely surprised by it. Also, MH doesn't like to know the specifics of when O day is or when FW is because he says it takes the fun out of hanging out.
@kiwi2628 That is so much fun that she is coming to visit! It's so thoughtful of you to put together a basket. I think you have most of what she will need...and you may already have this ready in your guest bathroom, but I like it when there is shampoo/soap/lotion because I do not always pack my own. And just for fun, you could put a few fasks masks or nail polish so you all could do your own spa night...my friends and I always enjoy doing that on trips together)!

R/R: Major rave - both kitties slept on the bed with us last night! Our older kitty has been avoiding the bed since our new kitty started sleeping there, so this is a big deal. Unfortunately, they both slept on my side, so I was a bit cramped and didn't sleep that great. Rant - I'm not at all prepped for my class lecture today! Somehow I got everything but that ready for this week. Sigh.
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday and why? Another atheist here, but I love Christmas. We don't always get to spend it with family, but it's such a fun holiday. I love all the little traditions that go into it.

@dukestar5 H originally wanted to know exactly when to HIO but every month seems to be harder on him. I'll try a month or two your H's way.

@darkstar42 We're taking a class taught by a calligrapher (I know the teacher, she's adorable). I'm not sure what to expect other than there will be paint, wine, hot cocoa (never mind it's 90 degrees today), s'mores, and lots of girl chat.
@quiltandknit That still sounds really nice! Have the leaves changed up there yet?
@SkilledSailor are you taking any supplement or something that you are expecting your LP to be longer? I'm doing 21 day fix workouts (but I missed the last 3 days - oops)
@kiwi2628 That sounds awesome to have your friend staying for a week. It will also be good distraction as you get closer to your beta. You sound like an awesome host! I second @dukestar5 that I appreciate shampoo/soap in the shower when I stay somewhere.

@darkstar42 good luck with you lecture today! I wouldn't worry about the lower temps. I think your temps. When I was temping I would notice some months closer to my CL. Seeing the shift is the most important part.

@gene_genie your pup sounds adorable! I always like to look at puppies paws! When you know they're going to be a big dog they have these big paws that they don't quite know what to do with.
@MrsMiller8588 I'm also impressed by your morning workout! Do you go to the gym or do it at home? What's your routine like?
@SkilledSailor it's good that you O'd but sorry to hear about YH. I was in my FW right when I got my IUD out and MH and I had this date night planned, he bought me flowers, we had a couple drinks and were so excited to make a baby and then performance anxiety. I can't blame him though I was a little anxious myself.
@kiwi2628 the week with your BFF sounds amazing! We have a little sign in the guest bedroom with our wifi password. Other than that, all I would really need is a bottle of wine and some good conversation.

@SkilledSailor I am sorry you missed your FW. As for the two of us, I have work, so she is going into the city (I live right outside NYC) to visit some other friends for 2 night, and will spend another day there, so while she is here and on my day off we will probably go hiking, have boozy lunches etc... We are heading up to Niagara Falls (one of the weddings is 30 minutes from there) so thats our weekend plan!

R/R: It's been in the mid 90's for days but today it's in the 60's and actually feels like fall. The downside to that is that it means winter is coming!
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday and why? Christmas, I love it. It's the only good part of winter! I think if they could move Christmas to the day of Valentines Day (and get rid of that one altogether), winter might be more bearable. I do live in the frozen midwest, so people in Florida might not agree.

GTKY: Christmas. I love giving. I love the warmth. Holidays are difficult for a lot of people. Being in mental health, winter holiday time can be taxing on my professional self. So,it is a double edged sword.
@jrm_14, I am an RN, so work 3 x 12 hour shifts a week. DH is a firefighter/paramedic, so works 24hr on/48 hr off...so sometimes we get extended time off together, other times we barely see each other!
I planned to be very productive today, but not feeling well, so basically have vegged on the sofa, stopping it from escaping!

@MrsMiller8588 Thanks! The lecture went fine, but ran longer than expected. Oh well! You’re totally right about the temps. I looked back at past charts and I often have a couple temps around 97.3 or 97.4 before it goes up more.

@jrm_14 Getting that timing seems to get harder each month! We missed a day because MH had to work ridiculously late, but fx this cycle is it! Seventh time is the charm? That’s great that you had such a good night of sleep! That can make busy days so much easier to cope with.
@skilledsailor We are starting to get some of the leaves to change. We'll hit the peak closer to Columbus Day with the shoreline behind us by about a week or so. I can't wait, fall in New England is my favorite!

(We used to let our dog sleep in our bed, but he definitely liked to hog all the space! Now he sleeps in his bed on the floor). I hope your class went smoothly today despite the lack of preparation.

@skilledsailor ~ that happened with my DH this cycle too - *TW* we had a CP last cycle so he was super stressed about “doing it right this time *end TW* Luckily he was able to pull it together the next morning and it worked out. But man that was stressful. I can’t immagine O coming that early, that would defiantly catch me off guard too. Sorry

@darkstar42 ~ I found when I started temping vaginally, it helped my charts a lot because it’s not as sensitive to room temps and stuff.

GTKY ~ Thanksgiving hands down. Family and friends, traditions, food - all the best parts of the holidays without the commercialism. I used to love Christmas, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how much it’s become about gifts and commercialism and it irritates me. I’m hoping that I can make Christmas about the important things, not about gifts, by making it about family and traditions and food from the start.

Rant/Rave: I had a fantastic meeting with one of my clients today. We reviewed last quarters numbers and even though they weren't great they will do most anything we recommend to improve performance and impact their population health! I love clients who allow me to do my job and really come up with solutions and then help us implement those strategies.

GTKY: Birthdays, not just mine. I love that there is one day a year that is all about celebrating a person and the fact that they exist. I make a huge deal about birthdays for all my friends and family and always want people to know how loved and special they are on that special day (okay, actually I try to make it a birthday week)
@dukestar5. Hi, friend!! Do you think you'll be over here soon? HURRY UP. My PMS is already raging. I'm hoping my ute holds out a bit longer like last month. I hate to admit when I hit 10dpo I was SO.EXCITED. that I peed on 2 hpts, a FRER, and a FRER digital. Spoiler alert: I bled on the digi. I plan to be less excitable at a double digit LP this time. Or spend less $ on test.
