TTC After a Loss

Intro

Hey all! I have been lurking since January and I think its time to introduce.

TW-Child Loss and LC

In December I gave birth to a little girl with a heart defect. She was rushed to a few different hospitals  before she settled at a big one on a LOT of machines so her body could recover for surgery. She never recovered, and she was taken of the machines 5 days later, dying in our arms in minutes. I have been lurking on this board because, I suppose thankfully, the child loss board has very few people on it, and I feel like I never really knew this little one so this situation is similar to miscarriage in that I am mourning an IDEA of what I was supposed to have, as well as an actual child.

I do have one beautiful son who just turned two, and he helps keep my mind off how sad I am on the days its really hard.

End TW

We started TTC in July, and despite my best efforts temping, taking supplements, using OPKs and tracking CM and position, I have had no luck getting pregnant. Just got AF today and this will be the 4th cycle. I thought I was ready in July but God has other plans, I suppose.

Anyway, I have been an active part of TB before and you guys seem like a really supportive group of ladies. As I navigate the demons in my head that come along with AF every month, I think it will be nice to be with some ladies going through the same stuff.

  • @SmashJam I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I'm glad that you decided to jump in and introduce yourself. All of us have different stories, but everyone here is supportive and tries to understand.
  • Thanks so much for all the kind words ladies! I feel like I've been cheering you all on silently so I'm glad to be able to do it officially! that being said...do I just hop on WTO since I'm on CD1? Or do I wait for October's WTO since it seems a lot of the people in there right now are closer to ovulation?
  • @SmashJam We're a pretty small group, so feel free to jump into SEP WTO for right now. Most people tend to lurk back and forth between boards to cheer for and/or console each other as needed.
  • I am SO sorry for your loss sweet girl! You are supported and you are validated here!  I know this is a difficult time for you and I applaud your stepping out in courage to share your heart and story with us!  Remember that there IS hope and there is a God given plan for you and your family!  Praying for you guys!
  • @SmashJam you can jump in September WTO.  I always jump back and forth. You can chime in wherever you want.
  • Welcome, I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree, join us over at WTO
  • I am so sorry for your loss. We are all here to help you!
