    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?

19 weeks, baby is the size of a mango.

    2) How are you feeling?

Been fighting a mild cold for about a week and have the same sleep woes as everybody else.  But I feel bad even complaining because this pregnancy has continued to be pretty easy for me! Hypnobabies home study course is scheduled to arrive on Friday, so I'm excited to start proactively doing something to help with my labor anxiety.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

Had AS yesterday.  Everything looked great, but they couldn't see all four chambers of the heart so I will be going for a repeat scan.  Tech said that baby is extremely low (smashed up against my cervix), which confirmed my midwife's suspicions about all of the pressure I've been feeling, and they checked cervical length to assuage the concern that the pressure had anything to do with signs of pre-term labor (since I went into labor spontaneously at 36 weeks with my first).  Nice and long and closed, so will recheck in a few weeks!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rave is for the totally phoned-in outfit I'm wearing to work today that I feel is justified due to it being a rainy and windy day here.  It involves a t-shirt and a chunky sweater.

Question: Has anyone else had to go for a repeat scan because they couldn't see all four chambers of the heart? The reviewing doctor said it was most likely due to the baby's position, but that he couldn't sign off on the report until he was able to see everything.  Trying to convince myself this is nothing to worry about.

    5) GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy?

Thankfully, people seem far less inclined to give advice when it's not your first pregnancy.  Best advice would be to savor the last few months as a family of three, easier said than done when this pregnancy is flying by!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
20 weeks, a banana however I think this is a very poor comparison.

    2) How are you feeling?

Good.  Heartburn is starting to kick in full force regardless of what I eat or drink.  Not pregnancy related but I hurt my shoulder/rotator cuff again last night so that really hurts.  I can't take any good meds so I'm going to have to ride this out

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

Anatomy scan is today!  Baby was slightly uncooperative at my NT scan so I hope he'll behave this time

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

This morning when I was getting out of bed I realized I hadn't felt the baby kick yet.  I pushed on my belly two or three times and he kicked back!

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy?

My neighbor, who recently had her 3rd said that it's so much harder so deal with three than two.  I was already having some anxiety about that and how I was going to juggle all three. I was about 12 weeks at this point and while I appreciate her honesty, maybe she should have kept that little tidbit to herself. Otherwise everyone has been very supportive and hasn't butted in.

@psm2462 - Ita not uncommon for that to happen. With #2 they had me get up and walk around twice to have baby move to a better position.  With this baby I had to do a little belly shake a few times during my NT scan to get him in the right position. These babies can be very stubborn.

@psm2462 I have a congenital heart condition, so I go to a maternal/fetal medicine specialist so they can analyze baby's heart. During my last pregnancy, we went back 4 times because they couldn't see all 4 chambers of baby's heart. Always due to DD's position. I understand the frustration and concern when you don't have answers, but it is very common not to be able to see anatomy due to baby's position... especially the heart chambers, because they are so tiny. So the simple fact of having to repeat the scan doesn't mean anything is wrong. But again, I understand how you feel. We're about to go for our AS next week, and I'm already preparing myself that we may go through the same thing.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    17 weeks... onion

    2) How are you feeling?

Excited that my bump finally looks like a pg bump and not like I just ate Thanksgiving dinner early. Now I can wear my cute maternity clothes instead of giant bag-shirts haha.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

Yesterday I had my 16 week OB check-up. Got to hear baby's heartbeat, right where it needs to be. I always find that so reassuring.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

DH bought me chocolate cake last night because I had a rough couple of days. Then he gave me a nice massage.  I love him.

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy?

I'm just so sick of everyone (in real-life, not on TB) having an opinion about whether or not I should go for a VBAC this time. I literally told the last person to shut up. I'm all out of politeness.

    2) How are you feeling?

Good overall! Morning sickness is FINALLY gone (with some very rare flare ups but it's sooo much better). Energy is better. Moodiness is worse, my emotions have been a bit extreme lol.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

Had an appointment Monday, just a quick check and met another doctor in our group I hadn't met yet. Glad that I like all the ones in this group, I LOVE my main doc and hate that they started requiring us to rotate, but at least I have now met them all and they are all very nice which is not always the case with groups. I'd be comfortable delivering with any of them. AS is in two weeks, so it's kind of the last thing in the this pregnancy I'm a bit nervous about, then I'm good!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

I think I say this every time, but I am seriously nervous about the transition from one child to two! DS was an easy easy baby and I'm trying not to expect the same from this one but the prospect of even an easy newborn with a toddler at home is hard to wrap my head around. With DS all of my attention and focus was on him and that took all of my energy as it was, and he still requires a lot of constant attention and supervision (he's 15mo) so it's going to be a major adjustment for all of us and I'm not that confident in my mom skills! Thankfully I'm lucky and have a helpful mom and mil very close by, so I know they will be willing to help, but I don't want to just pawn DS off all the time when DD gets here.

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy?

People are pretty much leaving me alone this time, haha. Only one of my friends even has one kid and the rest don't want kids, plus none of my siblings or DH's siblings have kids so we're kind of the loners when it comes to parenting in our circles. I'm blessed with supportive parents and in laws so they are pretty good about not killing me with unsolicited advice. I get the most 'advice' from random old people at the grocery store, and it's always to enjoy it because it goes so fast, which is good advice so I don't mind! I guess I did run into one lady at Qdoba who scolded my one year old son for sucking his thumb, which I did not appreciate at all. But whatever.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
19 weeks. One app says mango, another says old school grey gameboy.

    2) How are you feeling?

I'm feeling great, despite some back pains while sleeping and getting my patients on and off the table.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

Nothing this week, but AS next week! Getting exticed!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

The past 3 nights I've woken up around 3 and  been in some pretty miserable back pain. Usually, sleeping on my stomach alleviates that, but having a bump now is really hindering me from doing that. It might be time to get a body pillow...

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy?

Sleep while you can... which is proving to be difficult right now. Ugh.

@karcerplus3 and @precious88 thank you both so much for your input! Definitely helps ease some anxiety :)

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?   20 weeks, banana

    2) How are you feeling? Feeling ok. Had my AS this morning and was running late so I didn't get to eat or have coffee before and now I have a headache. Found out I have a complete previa, but that at 20 weeks its not a forgone conclusion and can still correct. I am still feeling down about it though. But she has been kicking like crazy and that always makes me super happy. And she is fine and everything looked normal so of course I am happy about that.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?    AS today, that's it for a couple of weeks.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I guess I already did ^

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy? I haven't gotten any bad advice yet, one of the attorneys I work for (the only woman, who had her second not long ago) told me I should be working out, which I found...inappropriate. Some good advice that I got from my cousin was that she had so strongly planned on bf-ing that when she couldn't produce and had to supplement with formula, she hadn't done any research or had any clue which one to use. So she just started with a random one and then had to switch and he had to get used to another and so just as a back up to do research beforehand in case you need it.

Much better! Energy is back! I had bad heart burn this week but that's expected lol

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

Just left my appointment. Heart beat sounded strong! I go back October 10th for my anatomy scan!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

    Not this week  :)

@precious88 now all I can think about is cake.  How sweet of your DH!  I am quickly running out of politeness.

@psm2462 I hope its nothing more than the baby being stubborn and not cooperating.

@karcerplus3 WTEWYE said some of the chosen fruits/vegetables are more about the length of the baby and not the shape.  I am assuming banana is one of those.  DH said what a weird shape for a baby lol.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?   20 weeks.  A banana (I am totally singing the word from Holla back girl every time I say he is a banana).

    2) How are you feeling? Good except the usual tired and have to pee all the time.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?    20 week appointment tomorrow.  No AS scheduled but I think thats because I pretty much had one with Maternal Fetal Medicine at 16 weeks and have another with them in October.  They checked all his organs and other important parts already.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Our home office is still not cleaned out so we can start prepping for the nursery.  Nursery furniture will be here in in 4-8 weeks.  I'm getting nervous bc DH wants to paint the room blue before the furniture arrives.

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy?  When I tell people I can't sleep well at night, they say oh thats just nature prepping you for baby.  Shut up.  I am tired and I just want to sleep.  You aren't helping.

Overall I'm feeling pretty good now. Not to many symptoms to complain about!

    3) Any appointments this week/last?

AS next Friday and I'm excited!!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

I'm a SAHM and my husband is on orders, he's gone during the weekdays in a hotel and home on the weekends. I'm at home with 3 children and do EVERYTHING for them! I'm exhausted and I literally want to jump through the phone and straggle my husband when he tell me how tired he is

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?   19 weeks, mango

    2) How are you feeling? pretty good! tired... back pain (I think from awkward sleeping position)... and heartburn. oh, and I seem to have picked up a cold somewhere (ugh, and it's still 90 degrees out here, which is just gross, IMO)

    3) Any appointments this week/last?  A "normal" checkup tomorrow, and anatomy scan on Friday! I am looking forward to the scan. With DD, it made everything seem so much more real.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I am still hemming and hawing over doctors and hospitals. With my first, it was all so simple and I was confident I was getting the best care possible. Not so much this time around, where neither of the hospitals in town seems all that great of an option. I guess I have about 20 weeks to figure it out? I'm meeting with a potential doula tonight, and I hope she can alleviate some of my concerns.

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy? I don't think anyone has really offered up any advice... my mom told me to *stop* working out, which I ignored, and I feel pretty good.

    2) How are you feeling? I'm feeling ehh- I have a cold, which includes a not-so-fun cough which is making teaching hard since I have to talk all day long.  Otherwise, sleeping is on and off, even with the Snoogle. I've had some ligament pain, etc., and have just been tired... sounds like I'm in good company there!

    3) Any appointments this week/last?    Last Friday, I made an 'emergency' appointment because I woke up with very intense, stabbing/shooting pains near my cervix.  I was worried they were pre-term labor contractions or something else super scary, and was in so much pain. Fortunately, I was able to get in that morning, and essentially, my uterus and the baby are sitting on my colon, etc., so there is a lot of pressure and discomfort, but the baby is just fine.  Thankfully, the shooting pains have stopped for the most part, and as the baby moves up a little, it should not be an issue.  Next monday is our anatomy scan!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone else experienced their uterus pressing on their colon?  What a weird question to ask, as I type that...

5)GTKY: What's the worst or best advice you've gotten this pregnancy? I haven't gotten much advice, to be honest.. but if someone told me to enjoy my sleep right now, I would want to slice them.

@lucylou214 at my anatomy scan yesterday they confirmed my suspicions that baby is sitting extremely low and at all times seems to be pressing on either my cervix or my colon causing pressure and painful crampiness... like you I was assured it's nothing to worry about but it's also super unpleasant! Not to mention (TMI warning) I haven't gone to the bathroom in days...

@psm2462 Thank you SO much for replying!  I have asked a few friends who have babies, and no one had any experience.  I keep getting shooting pains up my tailbone or near my cervix, and it takes my breath away, it hurts so much!  I wonder if I will find the same out when I go to my scan on Monday.  My doctor did suggest to me that it will be really important to not get (sorry...) constipated, and to eat tons to fiber to make sure of it.  I will say that this has helped a lot.  She also suggested wearing like a belly band or yoga pants folded really low as much as possible to encourage things to begin to move up a little bit.  I hope this helps!

@lucylou214 That's so scary! I'm so glad you and baby are both okay. Have you announced your pg yet at your school? I remember you were nervous about it last week.

@precious88 , thank you!  It was such an enormous relief to hear a nice strong heartbeat, I just about cried.  The discomfort was pretty intense, but it was more manageable once I knew LO was okay.  I was so thankful that they could get me in last minute on a Friday, and that I had the ability to leave work for a couple of hours to get checked out.

My co-workers know I am pregnant, but the parents of my students do not yet- it's going out next week in a newsletter.  I'm so ready to just be "out" with everyone!  Not to mention, it is getting harder and harder to hide.

@lucylou214 I've been super conscientious about fiber, drinking plenty of water, exercising, and diligently taking my two stool softeners/day, and still not seeing much action... I will try your suggestion of wearing things that encourage baby to move up a bit!

@lucylou214 Let us know how it goes with the parents next week! They'll probably have some concerns, but I'm sure everyone will be happy for you. :)

@psm2462 I get (sorry) constipated easily during pg. I know you have a whole separate issue going on and it sounds like you're already doing a lot to try to help your digestion, but I just wanted to throw something out there. I have found that the only thing that really gets things "moving along" for me is eating tons of watermelon. I do the same for DD when it seems like she's getting stopped up. Hopefully baby moves up soon to solve your problem all together really soon!

I have been wearing fold-down spandex shorts to bed all week, and either those or yoga pants any time I can (not at work, but around the house), and I do think it's helped a little?  Also, and sorry... tmi, but I have picked back up with a small cup of coffee at breakfast (I stopped when I first got pregnant because it made me nauseous all of a sudden, and just hadn't started back up), but this has really helped with constipation, which has really helped the discomfort. It sounds like you're already doing a lot in that dept., but I figured anything could help?  I really hope you find some relief soon!
