Re: Newbie Intro -- Week of 9/18
We haven't started to TTC yet. I'm going part time at my job next month and I want to quit vaping and stop drinking so much coffee before hand. It's hard to stop the coffee when working at a hospital where coffee is a staple!
Edit: Looks like my whole post didn't show up
My DH has a 10 year old son from a previous relationship who does not want a sibling. He was upset through our wedding ceremony and the rest of the day because he says "marriage = baby" and I'm not looking forward to the conversation with him once we get our BFP.
We also have 1 dog and a tegu(lizard). My hobbies include video games, crafting and creating things from scratch.
Im so excited to be here!
As for your DSS (dear step son) I think he's responding pretty normal. My DD was like that as she was about to turn six, and she did NOT want a sibling. I think it stems from an insecurity that their place in the family will change. I found that it helped to talk about it long before the BFP arrived, and then consistently after. Make sure that DH knows how DDS feels, and maybe have him set aside some time for DSS to go out and just do things by themselves, and the same with you. Take DSS out for a date...movie, putt putt, laser tag, etc. Have these 'dates' and then make sure they continue through the TTC process, and after baby is here. That helped immensely with my DD. She was, and still does get jealous, but she has also bonded so much with her sister despite the jealousy and age difference. I think your DSS just needs time and reassurance. ((hugs)) it's tough when they know what's happening as compared to much younger kids that just suddenly get a forever play date.
What kinds of crafts do you like to do?
I figured my screen name would be okay. There are hundreds of Sarah Walkers and I even have a friend with the same name as well
Edit: I don't know why this is happening, but when I post, only the first part of my post actually comes up. I wonder if this is an app issue.
Its a little difficult because DSS doesn't live with us. We only see him for a couple hours after school on wednesdays (but usually not since we are working) and every other weekend so getting a BFP wouldn't impact him much.
As for crafting, I have my beloved Silhouette cutter for stickers, vinyls, and paper crafts, and I love to crochet!
ETA: wording also QFP and to add, if you're on mobile and using non-the bump emoji's it will cut your post off. Also, I love to crochet! What kind of projects do you prefer to do crochet wise?

My DSS did tell me he doesn't like babies because they spit up and poop. I think his perception of family is different because he's an only child and he sees MH's sisters family and how the kids are forced to baby sit and change diapers and basically be a nanny to their most recent baby, but he seemed to feel better when I told him I would never ask him to change a dirty diaper. He made me promise and said he will hold me to it! Haha.
My favorite things to crochet are amigurumis! But I also like to make slippers and headbands too.
Ah, that is very good to know about the emojis! I think I did throw some in there.

How many months have you been TTC? I just started cycle 7 since going off bcp. *TW* I had a 6-week loss in June. */TW*
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting on FF, opks, prenatal vitamins, just started taking Ovaboost for all the good it might do. I have a preliminary consult with my gyno in Oct to get started on testing. I'm a little scared, but I'm hopeful that we can find a way to move things along if it doesn't happen on its own soon.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have 2 cats, one young and one ancient. *TW* We also have a 16-month-old daughter. It took 8 cycles ttc with another 6-week loss before we got her. */TW* I'm trained as a watchmaker, but I'm a SAHM for the time being. SO is a software developer. I dabble in lots of different crafts, mainly cross stitch, crochet, and polymer clay.
I've been lurking off and on for a long time, but finally feel confident enough to introduce myself. I will probably stick mostly to lurking and maybe the TTAS threads. Glad to meet you all!

With my first pregnancy, I was not super active on the Bump until my BMB moved over to a closed Facebook group. Looking forward to getting and giving support from the beginning this time.

How many months have you been TTC? 1.5.. kind of. We had a pregnancy 'scare' at the end of August (it was just a super late period, but since I track and have regular cycles, it was a huge surprise and I really thought I was pregnant) and after that decided to start trying. I know I probably shouldn't be here at my first cycle, but what can I say, I'm excited and this is sort of all I can think about.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting on FF but not temping, prenatals, trying not to turn TTC into a 'task'..
