I don't think we have a thread specifically for registries, although we have discussed certain items like strollers and breast pumps, etc. Make this one the official registries thread!
Do people put breastfeeding supplies/accessories on their registries? I'm a bit embarrassed honestly to have gel nipple pads and the like on there, but they would be nice to have
Also, I saw that a dishwasher basket was recommended and added it to my list but I'm actually not sure what kind of stuff I would put in there? It seems I've seen most other moms hand wash any kind of nursing/feeding things.

@Whiska - I didn't add breastfeeding stuff to my registry. I guess it could be personal preference, I don't know. But like you, it felt weird to me.
As for the washer basket, I feel like a lot of baby things end up going through the dishwasher. Especially pump parts. But even as they grow - teethers, baby spoons, etc.

@whiska I felt kinda awkward about it but put some of the disposable soothing gel pads and also the reusable Bamboobies pads on mine. I figure people might think it's weird to buy, but I can get the completion discount if that's the case. Or I might get them gifted!
@whiska I put BF stuff on mine. DH thought it was weird, my thought was, I'm having a baby, it's pretty much assumed it will be fed with either a boob or a bottle, and I only need these things BECAUSE I'm having a baby. If you have a problem with seeing breastfeeding stuff on my registry, I don't want your gifts anyway. Also, get the dishwasher basket! I used mine SO much! But... I never once hand washed my baby stuff or pump parts, I just ensured the dishwasher was set to 'sanitize' when baby stuff was in there, and even then only for the first 3 or so months, after that they discover their hands and good luck keeping germs out of them hahaha
@whiska I put pumping milk bags for freezing on mine, but I didn't do any other personal mom/breastfeeding stuff since I am inviting a lot of people from work and that would have been a little awkward.
We just finished our registry tonight! We did it all through Amazon and, strangely, even though we had the registry set to private one of our items has been purchased already and DH says it wasn't him! So not sure how that happened, but it made us eligible for the welcome box, so that's on its way now too! We got a great list through our Expecting Twins class of what things to buy and recommended brands, so that was tremendously helpful. I'm going to try and take some photos of it to share here.
@whiska yes! Put them on there girl! You can tel I'm on girl two because babies r us called and said they noticed I only had 4 things on my registry and they'd be happy to help me build one.
@whiska I didn't add them to my registry pre-shower with DS1 but when I went to the store to buy whatever else we needed and use my completion discount coupon, make sure you ask them for a scanner and anything extra you forgot or didn't add to your registry initially, make sure to scan before checking out and you will get the discount. That's when I added the breastfeeding stuff like nipple shield, pads, extra tubing etc.
Here is the registry list I referenced in my comment above. It is specifically written for moms of multiples, but the majority of it is applicable to moms of singletons, you may just need to register for half the recommended amount of some items.
@whiska I also say get the dishwasher basket. We had one, and it was used daily for small bottle parts and various other items that were too small to be loose in the dishwasher.
@whiska I felt comfortable putting breastfeeding items on mine. My brother actually sent me the nipple cream via Amazon with the note "this seems painful- make sure you use this to take care of yourself" haha it was awesome.
In case anyone hasn't figured this out yet, the three "big" baby registry places (BRU, BBB, Target) all have registry apps with a barcode scanning feature if you're like me and hate having to use the stupid scanner booper thing from customer service. Every once in a while it'll have trouble identifying something, but overall it's saved me a ton of time!
AFM, putting breastfeeding items on the registry is a must for 2 reasons: 1. Other moms totally understand and will buy you the brands/items you register for. and 2. Registry completion discount. I swear I have no idea why disposable breastpads are so freaking expensive, but with the amount you go through, it's worth it even if you only have like $.30 a pack
Another pro adding breastfeeding accessories to your registry. It's nothing to be embarrassed about! I added extra pump parts, nipple cream, pumping bags, etc to mine and one of my dear friend put together a "post-baby just for mom" gift for my shower that included some of those and things that she found incredibly useful (pads, snacks, magazines, etc.). It's going to be a gift that I give going forward because it really was SO useful.
Add me to the pro-breastfeeding items on the registry group. Bonus: I don't have to discuss this topic/choice with my family since they've figured out that I'm probably planning to/hoping to breastfeed if we registered for supplies.
I too put those items on my registry, also put a hands free pumping bra on there! You'll use it if you plan on pumping. Don't be ashamed! Like the others said, other mom's will get it. I have a dishwasher basket, we never used it. We needed the bottles quicker than we ran the dishwasher, so we washed them all by hand. However, it did double nicely as a pacifier holder for the million pacifiers we had!
I'm a TTM but I always put breastfeeding items on my registry. I use my registry also as a checklist of the items I still need so as soon as the completion discount becomes available I can see at a glance all the items left I was to purchase with it. And when I was a FTM, I really didn't feel any embarrassment about adding that on there. It's mostly women who are looking at the registry anyway so I doubt anyone would even think twice
There's a pretty big chance I won't be able to BF, so I didn't want to add too much BF stuff on my registry then have to deal with possibly returning it. I'm just planning on adding what I need to my registry AFTER my baby shower this weekend, so I can utilize the completion discount then just return whatever I end up not using to Target. I just realized they have a one-year return policy on registry items, so that makes me feel better about buying in advance.
ETA- After my shower, I plan on transferring whatever I can from my Amazon registry to my Target one. Target's baby registry return policy is one-year as opposed to Amazon's 90 days from shipment. Also, I have a Target Red card, so that 5% discount, combined with the completion discount, will be helpful. Wanted to give everyone a heads-up!
Heads-up- I just saw that Toys R Us could be filing for bankruptcy as early as this week. I don't know if/how this will affect anyone registered at Babies R Us, but I thought I'd share!
Put the nursing/bf-ing items on there. Lol. Even those awesome gel nipple ice packs!!
As far as TRU possibly filing for bankruptcy, it SHOULDNT have an affect on your registry, as from when they file to when it closes l, it will take a LONG time to settle. They have 400mil in dept they need to pay off by next year, yet make 600mil in profit a year, so theoretically they should be able to file and not have it make a huge deal to us as consumers.
I also put on our registry for #2 any items I may need for DD1. Completion discount!! So diapers, clothes, toys, bathing stuff, food items, sippy cups and water bottles. It all went on there.
I'm a bit nervous about BRU and bankruptcy, especially since I'm sitting on a $127 gift card to there. But it looks like it will be chapter 11, which is debt restructuring and not a brand shutdown.
But provided it is chapter 11, I think gift cards should be honored and the store will be around for our registries and potential returns.
I think...in my non-expert opinion.
ETA -- Just to be safe...I just spent my gift card...lol

Another pro-BF supplies on registry vote here, at least the smaller things. I put bra pads, milk storage bags, and a bag for my pump on the list. Probably going to steer clear of the more "medical" items for now (nipple cream, actual pump parts, etc) and maybe add those on myself at the end for the completion discount. I will say that my parents went to BRU with us one day just for kicks, and Dad laughed and laughed (and laughed) at the pictures on the Freemie box for several solid minutes. While I did try to school him on why it's such a great idea, it also sealed the deal for me that there are maybe a few items just a leeeeetle too personal to advertise on a registry
It's like you ladies are psychic ...I came here to see if anyone had any more info on the BRI bankruptcy, and lo and behold, all the info already here! I was planning on registering there anyway (because STM slacker here, and I haven't registered yet). I figured they would work it to stay open during the holidays since it's their big time of year and I'd at least be able to get some of my bigger ticket items on discount from the registry.
@leilagphillips I just got the same notification from Amazon and I know for a fact no one has purchased anything off of my registry! I'm curious what it'll end up being ?

@MrsWifey89 I actually just got a notification from Amazon letting me know I could check my "thank you list" to see who I got a gift from! When I saw who it was I remembered that I shared a link to that one particular item with the friend who got it and I guess they were able to access my registry that way even though I still had it set to private.
I'm annoyed because Amazon sent me an email that something was purchased off my registry like an hour ago, but there's nothing new on the thank you list and it doesn't show that anything else has been bought. Is it just alerting me again to the fact that MIL bought us stuff a couple weeks ago? Or will it show up later? Or is it a total glitch that just sadly got my hopes up?
@leilagphillips I think it must be a glitch then, because I got my email about the other items a couple weeks ago. When I first tried to look at my thank you list it said it wasn't available, so there must've been some issue. Lame!
I just saw an article about this on Facebook. Those emails are NOT from Amazon. Do not click on anything or give any info. They don't know what it is yet.
@breezbyee I Google'd and apparently it's actually from Amazon. Mine appears to be from Amazon, and it looks like they just somehow mass sent this out to tons of people, even people who don't have registries. Yikes. I feel awful for anyone going through fertility struggles getting that. I know that would not have been welcome when I was TTC.

I got the Amazon email too (and was like, I'm not going to peek and instead be surprised!), and then they just sent me one saying the first one was a mistake. Bummer lol.
