I am 13 w 1 day and I bought maternity clothes yesterday. Why didn't I do this sooner!!?? I feel so much happier at work now that I am not having to squeeze into button up pants!

Remember those two teeth I was so excited about my daughter finally getting? Yeah they receded back into her gums. I can't see the white at all anymore. My child is never going to have teeth, I swear.
Umm a sweet grandmother just delivered my groceries to my front door and I didn't have to take the toddler to the grocery store. Plus, because I had a shopping cart to edit, I ended up saving $60+ on groceries and that includes the fee for delivery.
I had my first ultra sound today !! Yay!! So exciting my towns ultrasound clinics are so booked up it took for ever to get an appointment and had to drive hour and 15 min to get to the appointment but whatever worth it !! Baby measured 14week 3 days ( my ob made my due date march 10 I previously guessed March 14 k think?)
also and brand suggestions for maternity tights/nylons. I wear them every day to work and my current ones fit but that stupid little band at the top is now digging in ! I wear a uniform so I have few more months left in my uniform dress I can get away with. This will be first thing I have to switch to maternity version of!
I feel like a suck saying this...but I miss my mom today. She just left after being here for 5 days as my SO was out of town, and I'm on major light duty. She only lives 3 hours away, but I am emotional and I miss her company.
We finally announced to my parents this weekend and it went so well. my mom actually pointed out that my due date is on my grandmother's birthday. My Gma passed away in early 2015 and I miss her every single day. she is always on my mind and I miss her so much. I've always been so sad that she will never met my children and even more sad that my children will never get to know her. She just lived for babies! She did luck out though and at the time she passed... had 34 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
knowing my due date is her birthday jyst makes it all extra special and i feel her connection to my pregnancy now in some stranger and totally illogical way. I really wish and hope this baby comes exactly when planned (I know ours unlikely). I think it would just be so magical that the first grandbaby born after her passing would land on her birthday. Fingers crossed X
We are finally on our way to vacation. We're supposed to go last Sat but delayed due to Irma. Should arrive at the beach today. FX for good weather (even though it looks like hurricane Jose is now heading for us)
I know due dates are complete guesses to begin with and they basically mean nothing. By LMP my due date is march 17th. When I went in for at 6 weeks for an ultrasound, the sac measured a few days smaller so they changed it to the 21st. This same thing happened with my daughter...LMP put me at April 20th, sac measured small so they moved me to April 27th. I ended up having her April 17th and was completely unprepared because I anticipated having another week at least, but likely more since first babies usually go late. I had only stopped commuting the long train trek to work a few days prior. I went in for the NT scan last week the sonographer told me the listed date was march 19th (where are all these different numbers coming from?). I plan to ask my bosses to stop commuting 2 weeks before my due date, because I will not risk going into labor at work and hour and a half away from my home or on the train. Basically, the earlier the better. Is it stupid to ask the doctor's office to move the due date back to the 17th?

The earliest ultrasound usually has the closest or best guess of a date, because all babies are growing at the same rate at that point. The farther into the pregnancy you are the more the date can be off, because they are using size to guess the date and babies are all born at different sizes.
Edited to add most Drs. won't change the date unless it's more than 10 days off from the edd at any given time. The official due date is probably still the 1sy one they gave you. My edd is 2/2 even though baby measured at 1/31 at my scan
This is random...when did you guys start 'dressing your bump?' I'm 14 weeks and have a bump for for sure, but having had IBS for years, I feel like I've had this kind of looking bump from being bloated frequently but never emphasized it, I hid it! This time, bump is baby, but do I wear tight maternity clothes to 'show it off' this early on? Or will everyone think it's just a burrito I had for lunch???
Where does a VERY petite person shop for maternity jeans/capris and dresses? I swim in everything at Old Navy.
I am 5'2. Normally petite, but I do thicken up a little more during later pregnancy, but I haven't had length issues with some full panel h&m jeans and some of the stuff at motherhood. I think it's Macy's that cares motherhood as well. I bought a few dresses off of pink blush last time and they were a bit long.
@mountain_girl I'm 15 weeks and totally in full on maternity clothes, lol. I carry my weight in my midsection and I feel like maternity wear kind of rounds it out and makes it look more bump-ish. Especially the shirts with the ruching on the side, and those are pretty obvious to most people as maternity shirts.
@ashleyf911 so it's obvious that you're pregnant and not bloated?? This will be my second baby, so I'm definitely 'showing' earlier, with my DD I don't think I dressed my bump until 16-17 weeks? I forget and I'm a bad mom who took like no bump shots
Okay. I know I might get some eye rolls here. But I'm 12+1, 4th pregnancy, and very in tune with my body. And I swear I am feeling something. It's not full on flutters. But there are little twinges going on sporadically that feel like movement!!
@mountain_girl I think so! I like to dramatically put my hand on my little bump too if I'm feeling especially self conscious lol. But the maternity pants and shirts really do help to round things out.
@justkeeptrying i feel like you're close enough to the magical 13 week mark that those are totally legit flutters and not deserving of eye rolls! That's so exciting! I'm 14 today and I swear sometimes I get a little kick but they always feel too strong if that makes sense. Like Baby is still so little that I think what I'm feeling is probably something else unfortunately, because they're not gentle flutters, they're full on kicks.
@bb3vj3n my grandma passed away in early August and we hadn't told her about my pregnancy. Then I lost my grandfather 16 days later. He was told but was too sick to understand. I feel you, it's hard realizing your babies don't get to see how far back the awesomeness goes in your fam. And there's nothing wrong with wanting that bday connection
For the first time in this pregnancy I have drank the recommended amount of water in one day. I believe I deserve some ice cream!
We just found out one of my brothers lost everything to Irma. His home is gone, all of their belongings. They're staying with his wife's oldest daughter now until they can find a new place but ugh. My heart hurts.
Also, I don't think we've heard from @SoFlaMommie1128 either in the last couple of days. I know she went to Tampa, but I think that was the last we heard, unless I missed something?
Also, it's my last day of progesterone supplements!!! Mixed emotions of nervousness but mainly feeling so glad about not having 4 more pills a day!!! Down to 11 a day now...
Thank you ladies. This is the brother who I'm definitely the least involved with, but it's still scary and eye-opening to have something happen like this.
@cford08 it's kind of a tricky situation with helping them. Even my own family is very hesitant because he's always been the one that when he sees someone who has the means to help and is willing to help, he'll take and take and take. I'm younger than him by 18 years and he's tried taking advantage of me before, financially. He's had a steady job for while now, which is saying a lot for him, and that job is offering bonuses and paid leave to the workers affected. They were able to salvage some clothes and school supplies, and his wife's oldest daughter is helping them find a new place. But thank you so much for offering, I just really don't want to get other people involved in his ways.
My fiance just lost his job, and I've been a mess since he told me yesterday. We have so much we are saving up for (wedding & baby), and then I just found out Monday that I need to replace the air compressor in my car because it's rattling and likely causing interior damage. That's going to be a hefty bill, and I decided to dip into our savings to get it fixed on Friday. But now that he's out of work I'm panicking that we won't be able to save up enough in time for baby and the wedding.
