what is tropical cocktail attire???

This is the attire for the awards banquet for our trip to the Bahamas. I guess I need to go shopping! What on earth is tropical cocktail????

A nice cocktail length black dress. Not dressy enough for black tie, too dressy for the beach.?

It can be any color. Think cocktail length chiffon, halters, strappy, etc. Also too dressy for work.?

Thank you ladies -- I guess I really do have to go shopping! The rest of the attire is sundresses for day and cocktail dresses and/or skirts for night. I'm still hoping my honeymoon clothes will fit but I still have about 5 or 6 more pounds to lose. I think I'm still in denial that this trip is actually coming up so soon!
