Pelvic Pain

 https://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/symphysis-pubis-dysfunction

Has anyone else been experiencing severe pelvic pain? Not the typical aches and pains of pressure in that area, but the kind of pain where it feels like you have been riding a bicycle for the last 9 months of pregnancy? I started noticing it last week, and it seems to get worse when I am sleeping or laying down for a long period of time; although, it is always somewhat there lurking around during the day. I can also feel it when I move my legs up and down. Basically, it feels like I was majorly bruised internally.

I started researching it online and came across the article linked above. Maybe it will help someone else? Perhaps that is what this is? The hormone relaxin leading to SPD? At least I have something to take to the doctor when I see him on Friday. I am interested to hear his thoughts, and if anyone else on this board is experiencing this. It is even going down into my buttocks, which at first I thought might be sciatic nerve, but now I am not so sure!

I never experienced this with my first pregnancy, so this is a whole new unpleasant pregnancy symptom for me. Would love to hear from others!

I've had the same thing for the last 3 weeks. I felt like my hips were going to break off. I found that taking a regular pillow and sleeping with it between my legs right up against me has helped with it a lot. I didn't get doagnosed with that but I know how you feel. Mine feels like a mixture of my hips being super sore, feeling like I got forced down into the splits in the groin area and my lower back and butt throbbing.

I definitely have this as well. It's particularly bad when I get up from sleeping on my side's and when trying to get dressed. I thought I was crazy that my pelvis hurt so bad just to put on freaking pants! I didn't experience this with my first.  Maybe I'll bring it up to my doc, but I've been having this pain for a LONG time, 15 weeks or more now? I thought it was him hanging out so darn low!

I've been having this for a while, it's so painful trying to roll over on the night, or sitting on the floor.  It's had me close to/in tears at times.  Pillow does help, I can't sleep otherwise, the pain is too much.

I also get that feeling, especially when sleeping on my side at night orwhen I am inactive. When I do some exercise, like going for walks it doesn’t seem to be so bad. My gynocologist says it’s totally normal and all part of the process but it’s just so uncomfy. :#

I have had this since week 17...it's just awful. I have had to sleep on the couch bc it's a bit more firm and keeps me from moving too much. Strengthening my hips has helped a little. Thankfully it should subside after birth!

I ended up going to the dr and basically he said...first baby made room in there, so this second one is sitting way lower earlier on and his head is directly on my pelvic bone which is basically causing it to bruise. He said the pain would prob only get worse, which it did, and then the last few days, it's been better. Maybe he went down even lower, which adjusted his position? Hope everyone else gets relief soon too!
