How far along are you? 22+4
Current symptoms: Fatigue, movement, BH, peeing alllllll the time, increased anxiety.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Yes and no. I had a C-section last time and I'm hoping for a VBAC so I really have no idea how things will go.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? Yes! Coworkers will be throwing me a work shower. I'm also being thrown a sprinkle by relatives. No shame here - people get excited when a new baby is coming, and I'm excited too. If people offer to throw a party, I don't see any reason to turn them down because some unknown mom somewhere will potentially judge me for celebrating. Mom-shaming is lame.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? I know it's only September, but I loooooooooooooove stuffing and I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

How far along are you? 21 weeks
Current symptoms: Tired & unfocused, but generally okay. I slept funny last night and now my shoulders feel wonky.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? More than last time? I guess so. I ended up with a c-section after hours of labor last time. I'd like to try for a VBAC this time, which my doctors generally support "unless.... this one is gonna be as big again."
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? I don't think so - not that I've heard about anyway. One of my sisters asked about it back in like June and I kind of tried to discourage her.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Christmas cookies from my grandma's recipes, the skillet potatoes my parents make for brunch, and the carrot casserole my cousin brings to the Christmas party.

How far along are you? 21+5
Current symptoms: super thankful that right now it's only occasional heartburn, BH, and just general achiness.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Sort of. I was more afraid of the pain of it last time so now I know what to expect. I also know more of what can go wrong, so there's still that unknown.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? I hope not!! My friend asked and I turned her down. I hated my wedding and baby showers and don't want to do it again. I hate the games and opening gifts in front of people. If it's just a regular party, sure why not?
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Any Thanksgiving food besides the stuffing! I'm so excited.
How far along are you? 20 +4 (they moved my EDD back a week from the 16th to the 20th)
Current symptoms: lots of movement really low. This kid doesn't want to get out of my pelvis, some food aversion coming back, and grumpy AF all the time.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Yes and no. Ended up with a malestrom of issues that lef to an emergency C-section the first time around, but this time, I'm taking better care of myself, we hired a doula, and I'm doing more visualization/meditation/workingout etc and actually doing all the things I can to attempt a VBAC.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? Yes! I sure am! One of my best friends is throwing me a sprinkle, and I know my coworkers will do soemthing as well! We LOVE to party and celebrate! I wouldn't throw one for myself, but I'm not gonna rain on someone else's parade for a chance to celebrate and spread some love! I would totally throw a shower for any of my friends when they get to number 2+!!!
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Oh goodness! this is a tough one... I love food.... but I'd have to say it's my Grandpa's turkey (that he roasts with a bacon lattice on top) that is truly stuffed with homemade chestnut and sage sausage stuffing! YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How far along are you? 19 +2 weeks, and almost to my halfway since I'll be a scheduled c-section.
Current symptoms: Tired, stupid hip pain, and hungry.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? I'm a little more nervous this go around knowing that I'll be for sure having surgery. Before it was easier with the unknown but knowing that someone will totally be cutting me open. Kinda freaky. Although, I'm hoping that going in and knowing that my pain tolerance is low and my pain med tolerance is high, I'm hoping that they will prepare my body for the surgery better and not knock me out. I'd like to really remember seeing my baby for the first time this time.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? I don't know. I've told work that I don't want them to do anything. If they decide to do something I'd wish they'd treat me like the men here and just give me a gift card. haha. I know that sounds selfish but I don't think I can handle a party with them... again. And I've mentioned before that DH wants to do something with his friends so I'll let him take the lead. I'm not even thinking about it. I've mostly made a registry for the completion discount and so that IF family from out of state want to give something that they will know what we're looking for.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Welp. I hate Thanksgiving food, other than mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie... and pumpkin desserts in general I love. But I really REALLY could eat my weight, and I'm a nice round gal, in Oreo truffle balls. OMG.

How far along are you? 21+6
Current symptoms: Out of breath easily, reflux/heartburn, frequent peeing!
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Sort of, but I think I have a little more anxiety about it mostly from knowing you can't really plan this part out! Just hoping and praying it goes smoothly!
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? I have friends who have expressed interest in doing something for us, and I'm grateful for that, but I'm not feeling it! I definitely don't look down on second showers/sprinkles or judge if people have one. All of my friends with kids have had second showers and I have happily hosted/helped with them! We were team green with our first so everything we had for DS is neutral! He's almost 2 so we haven't gotten rid of anything. Even though we are expecting a little girl this time, I don't think babies require so much *stuff* that is only used for a short amount of time. I do have a small registry for those who wish to get us something, but I don't want them to feel obligated. It mostly consists of the essentials: diapers, wipes, rash creams, etc.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Have to agree with @missblaze on the stuffing!!! I could eat it every single day, but I want it alllllll on Thanksgiving!!!
How far along are you? 23 weeks today!
Current symptoms: Oh my gosh--not many! I feel very sparse movement (I hate you, anterior placenta... but also love you), I still throw up maybe once or twice a week (nothing major), I had a leg cramp last night, and I definitely pee a lot.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Oh! Great question! I think right now I am going to say yes, but I am aware that as it gets closer, I might feel differently. On paper, my last birth might have seemed bad: 37 hours of labor, 4th degree tear, episiotomy, and forceps... but I survived! So...?
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? No one has mentioned it yet
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? I'm a vegan, but give me some vegan mashed potatoes ANY TIME YOU WANT!
@IrishPiratess This LO loves my pelvis too. I don't feel much movement but when I do/when I take his heart rate, he is low!

How far along are you? 21 weeks today
Current symptoms: Headaches and heartburn, but nausea is almost completely gone, so I'll take it.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Kind of maybe. My water broke at home the first time, so I still have the fear of not actually knowing I'm in labor for a while. I also am terrified of needing a C-section, but know that in the moment I'll agree to anything to get the baby out safely.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? No, no one has offered haha. They will probably do a small party for DH at work. We made a registry for my in-laws and will give it to them as our Christmas list. (They are the ones who request it, otherwise I would never do that!)
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Mashed potatoes and gravy. mmm
How far along are you? 22 weeks today
Current symptoms: Battling another yeast infection. So gross! My Dr called in a medication to help since for some reason I keep getting these. Sorry, husband, the lady bits are off limits again
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? I have lowered my expectations some since my first birth was opposite of what I had in mind (induced w/pitocin, epidural when I wanted med-free, and other interventions). I don't know that I feel more prepared necessarily but my plan is to try med-free and if I can't then I won't stress about it. Ultimately I just want a healthy baby!
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? I think my church may throw a diaper party. My husband is the student pastor and traditionally the church likes to treat staff whenever possible. No baby shower though since this is the second boy and we have everything we need
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Pumpkin pie! And basically all the thanksgiving food- I'm drooling now..
How far along are you? 21w4d
Current symptoms: some RLP, a little tired
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? i definitely know what to expect (for the most part), so yes i do feel more prepared.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? I believe my mom and sister are throwing me a sprinkle and i am excited about it!
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? green bean casserole, pumpkin everything, twice baked potatoes, stuffing... basically all of it
How far along are you? 19+6
Current symptoms:
I'm feeling really good! Haven't slept good the last couple of nights but that's about it.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth?
Yes and no. Last time I had alllll these pregnancy books I read and reread and had all this information in my head. Now I forget most of that. Also last time I attempted a home birth so now I'm hoping I know when to go to the hospital, etc.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party?
No. They are exremely uncommon in my circles for second babies unless it's been a long time since the first.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
This is so hard!! I LOVE all the holiday food. Maybe the wide variety of pies?
How far along are you?

Current symptoms:
RLP and eye twitching ( I don't know if that's pregnancy related or not)
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth?
I do, I'm not worried at all
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party
No, I specifically asked for one not to be thrown even though this is a boy and it will be 4.5 yrs since I last gave birth. It's not the norm with my family or circle of friends anyway
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
DD2: 9/12/13
Baby #3: Due January 2018
How far along are you?
21 + 2
Current symptoms:
not very many. Occasional leg and butt cramps while sleeping and trouble sleeping. Random not quite a symptom but I had forgotten how wierd it feels when the kick you in your cervix. Lol its like she just kicked me in the vagina
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth?
in the sense that I am not scared, yes I feel more prepared. I was induced so I want to have a more natural labor this time and have no idea how that will go.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party?
no one has brought it up. It depends on who asks and what they want to do. I wouldn't mind a small family party but I don't want another shower. DD is only 14 months and we are having another girl so besides decorating a room and diapers and wipes and maybe a few winter clothes we don't need anything.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
OMG holiday food!! To bad I'll be so pregnant I won't be able to fit much food and still breathe. But Pumpkin pie and Christmas morning biscuits and gravy.
Good luck to all the ladies trying for a VBAC!
I'm not nauseous everyday, but it still appears at random. Peeing constantly.
With DD2 we barely made it to the hospital in time. I'm a little nervous about that happening again, given the drive we have to make and that we live in Upstate NY.
I've turned down a few offers. One friend won't drop it. The idea makes me uncomfortable and I fear I'm going to get stuck at one I've turned down.
I love all of the Thanksgiving food. This will be the second Thanksgiving in a row I'll be pregnant; last time I was still a nervous wreck and didn't thoroughly partake. I fear this time I'll be big enough to already be in the "full too fast" phase.
DD2 8.22.13

How far along are you? 23 weeks
Current symptoms: lots of kicks, Braxton Hicks, always thirsty, peeing constantly, and poor sleep. Oh, and I want potato chips like none other (atypical for me).
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? This is my 3rd time around, I am definitely better prepared than I was the 1st time around. My biggest anxiety is that my husband works over an hour away, and there is 1 hwy connecting our town to the town he works. Icy roads, and major accidents have closed the hwy for hours before, and my last labor was way quick!
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party?
No one has come forward and asked, and I am ok with that. We are having a girl, and our 2 y.o. is a girl, so we have a lot of the "stuff". We will need a new carseat, since ours would have expired, we passed it along a while back. If people want to celebrate the baby, that's cool with me, but I am not expecting anything, nor seeking anything out.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
I am really looking forward to pumpkin everything, but especially pumpkin pies. My son and I enjoy cooking whole pumpkins, and making fresh pumpkin pies.
(Edit because the end was cut off.)
How far along are you? 22 weeks
Current symptoms: Side pain under my right ribs, just like my last pregnancy. It's after I eat high fat food or a big meal. It's very uncomfortable and if like my last will be here until baby is born. Had gallbladder checked prior and nothing found. I've had two OB opinions both who said it's just one of those "weird" pregnancy things. Blah.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? More prepared for sure. I know now what I really want in my hospital bag, and I know how to better direct DH on speaking with the nurse on my behalf when I'm in too much pain to properly communicate. I ended up agreeing to Demerol, which was always off the table for me. It was epidural or nothing. Somehow I ended up saying yes not realizing what I was saying yes to. Total bummer.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? No. Work hasn't mentioned it and I've sternly said no to my persistent friends. I'm seriously the Grinch of showers, 2nd showers at that. My friends conceded to taking me to dinner and said there will be gifts. Blah!
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Turkey with homemade cranberry sauce!!! YUM!
1 Rainbow Baby: Born 4/4/15

How far along are you? 23 weeks
Current symptoms: Acid reflux, fatigue
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Eh, not really. I was induced last time and want to avoid that this time. Some anxiety over what to expect if I go into labor naturally. Also anxious because i know what labor feels like.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? Not that I know of!
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? stuffing with cranberry sauce on top. Seriously considering making it soon to enjoy now
How far along are you? 20w5d
Current symptoms: Soo very tired
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Yes, like everyone has stated before I know what I need and don't need in the hospital bag as well as I want to labor at home for longer. Last time, as a FTM, I was afraid I wouldn't know if I was really in labor so as soon as contractions started, we headed for the hospital. After 2 hours in triage, they admitted me and from then I couldn't eat so when DS arrived at 930p, I was really worried about eating lol
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party?
I've had several people ask if and when the shower is. My first was a boy and is nearly 2 so I still have majority of his bigger items but need clothes and just other pink things for a girl. Noone really threw my first shower, and that's how it is this time. My mom helps with everything and acts as the host but we just rent a fire station down the road from our house and host it there.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes & bread. Give me all the carbs please
How far along are you?
20 weeks - half way, I can't believe it!
Current symptoms:
So tired.
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth?
Hmm... Good question. My 1st delivery was fast and straight forward, so part of me feels like I can't get that lucky again. But it was also labor, crazy hard, and this time I'm older and more tired and just not as motivated.
Like @jakobaby, in this case knowing what to expect doesn't really help calm the nerves!
I'm bummed that, being 40, it's standard to induce at 39 weeks. I strongly want to avoid induction.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party?
I doubt it and hope not. Having a 2nd boy pretty close in age, so we don't need much. No judgement on those who do, I'm always down to celebrate a new life and bless my friends. But like @schaze said, opening presents is the worst, just makes me feel so awkward being the center of attention.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
Yes, all the carbs!
I love to bake a couple pumpkins to make puree (instead of canned) and big a whole bunch of pumpkin cookies.
How far along are you? 21+6
Current symptoms: Tired .. so so tired and my hips and legs are just sore
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth??
Yes and no-- ugh . Are you ever prepared ? Lol my first birth was a breeze the second I spent a month on hospital bed rest and got induced .. praying this one is uneventful and smooth
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party?
I've told friends and family no .. it's my third and also my third girl -- my last is only 18 months I still have everything .. my mil is insistent on something so we will have a family lunch to celebrate this baby but nothing formal nothing huge very low key .. she thinks it's weird that I think it's weird to have another big one .. we agree to disagree
GTKY: Favorite holiday food?
Alll the carbs !!! Bring on the mac n cheese the mashed potatoes the rolls etc oh and man all that desert -- pies cakes cookies yum !!
How far along are you? 22 +2 (you can tell it's a second baby when I had to check my Ovia app just now to see how far along I am... ;-))
Current symptoms: Up all night to pee, tired, lots of movement!, and heartburn is starting to set in
Being a STM+ do you feel more prepared for birth? Yes and no. I know that I will know when I am in labor, but I am also anxious as I had a challenging labor/delivery last time. I am hoping to troubleshoot with my ob as I get closer to EDD to see what things I can do to increase my chances of a smoother time once it's go time.
Despite conflicting views on this topic, is anyone throwing you a shower/sprinkle/party? Nope. It's totally side eyed in my circles and seeing as I was super uncomfortable at both my bridal shower and baby shower (I hate being the center of attention) I would veto that very quickly if anyone tried to offer. Not that they would since it's pretty unheard of around here.
GTKY: Favorite holiday food? Apple pie all the way!
Current Symptoms: mild heartburn, lots of movement, very fatigued. I've taken a little break from the Bump to recover from a recent surgery and it's taken its toll on me in general, but I'm starting to feel more like myself finally.
Do you feel more prepared? I'm mixed on this. My first delivery did not go as I'd hoped and I had a csection after 29 hours. I'm really hoping for vbac this time, like a few others said. My drs are saying i'm still a good candidate, so we'll see. So many unknowns!
Shower/Sprinkle: No one has mentioned it, although I did tell my work BFF not to do anything. I am having another girl and we already have so much stuff... and work drama in general about like everything... ugh, just easier not to deal with it! I wouldn't mind a small get together with close friends, which is what we did for another close friend when she had her second. It was mainly family and like 3 of our besties from HS. But we'll see.
Fave holiday food: I'll jump on the Thanksgiving train, too! Stuffing has been one of my favorite foods since I was a kid, but only my mom's recipe.
