Pregnant after IF

Can we talk morning sickness?!?

Am I thankful for having the chance to have morning sickness? Sure I am!!

But dang! The nausea comes in waves. When I am trying to leave for work, right before lunch, if I smell something foul, get too hot, or bend over.

Last night, I read an article about a pet cruelty arrest and the attached pictures were too much.

Anyone have a home remedy to prevent it, other than sitting on the couch avoiding the kitchen and cleaning? Lol

Ginger candy and mint gum is starting to make me nauseous.

Re: Can we talk morning sickness?!?

  • Mine wasn't too bad but eating crackers helped. Sounds backwards but an empty stomach made me more sick. If it gets really bad your doctor can give medicine, I've heard that can be helpful. Hope it passes soon for you!!

  • Thank you!

Crackers do seem to help, but I am trying to stay away from the salt this pregnancy. I craved it with DD and had really high blood pressure and water retention.
  • At 26 weeks I still can't stand ginger after the months of MS... it was good at first, but then became a trigger! Sour candy was the best thing I found - I felt so guilty about feeding my baby sitar (and little else) but those gummies got me through. Hang on!

  • Worth a shot! Sour candy is good! And if anything it will change the funny taste in my mouth when I get nauseous! Thank you!
  • Ugh mine is so bad right now. I just went and bought everything ginger and peppermint. I'm hoping it helps. I feel like I'm eating all day long to keep the nausea at bay
  • I was sick my entire pregnancy the first time around and nothing touched it including drugs!!! Hopefully it subsides soon. Sometimes just sucking on a candy kind of helped. I have no idea why....
  • I had hypermessis gravidarum and it was hell. If I managed to eat something it were either apples (only pink lady!) or cold pancake (made in another apartment by someone else, the thin European ones)
One tip my doctor gave me: do not eat your favourite food!
You do not want to be throwing that up, cause it won't be your favourite for long.
Im glad I listened, because certain foods I still have a bad memory off.

  • That is so true!! I am afraid to eat fried eggs, becaue it wasnt fun throwing them up. I can handle scrambled without milk, so I am able to get my protein in the mornings!
  • @workmanj1, ginger was helping so much in the beginning, but I no longer have any interest in ginger! Lol

@jfeeney06 I have been eating more fruits for snacks through out the day and it is helping so much!
