Symptoms Week- 9/3

Re: Symptoms Week- 9/3

  • Thought I was having a good day then a glass of water sent me running to throw up. I've been in bed for over an hour with intense nausea. So grateful for DH taking care of DS but feeling so guilty right now that I'm not downstairs with them. My MS definitely seems to get worse in the late afternoon through the evening.

It gets worse as the day goes on for me too, @julzy, and unfortunately that includes the middle of the night. I hope you're able to hold down dinner and feel better soon.

  • @julzy @lindsye I'm with you on the MS getting worse in the evening
  • @allowachick yes, middle of the night too! It's not every night but I've been woken up by it several nights and I felt so so sick. Ugh just counting down the weeks until 2nd trimester.
  • @julzy I feel like the little engine that could ... a very tired one

@JJMNO1616 I feel exactly the same way! Even if I'm starving I can't seem to eat more than a small bowl of soup or half a sandwich before I'm stuffed.
  • I am so exhausted I can't seem to get anything done. I'm in school right now and I actually cried when I had to get out of bed this morning. And that's after going to bed super early! I also can't even think about most food without feeling sick. My husband said the word sushi yesterday and I almost threw up in the grocery store. Seems like the only thing I can eat is soup and French fries.
  • @onesmallcoconut  oh my god! McDonald's fries for me too!  Or any French fries for that matter... It's the only thing I can consistently eat without feeling sick thinking about it. The way I see it is the French fries are better than starving... Whatever you have to do to get through the 1st trimester.
  • @onesmallcoconut I feel like at this stage, you just have to do whatever it takes to get some calories in. :) I've always been a french fry connoisseur, but I've been having them quite often now. Hoping the nausea subsides for you soon!

    So. Much. Nausea.
Which I did not have the first time.

I brought a nice healthy lunch to work and could not bring myself to eat it.

The ONLY thing that sounded remotely ok was McDonald's fries. So I said screw it and totally destroyed a large fries.

It stayed down, I feel slightly better and I think I can make it through my workday now.
@onesmallcoconut I am the same way! The smell of meat, looking at meat, makes me nauseous. Mexican is the only thing I can muster with all the veggies piled on top. My boss offered to pick me up lunch and thankfully got Chipotle. Day was made. And no my boss doesn't know. 8 weeks 1 day, we can do it!!

  • Nausea and vomiting kicking my butt this week...my doctor is calling in diclegis. Anyone have any luck with it actually working?
  • The nausea has really set in the last few days. If i dont eat, I feel sick...If I eat, i feel sick. And nothing is appealing. The thought of all food makes me sick  :s
  • Diclegis worked for me. I still feel some nausea most of the time and I wouldn't say it's a miracle but it has made it possible to go to eat a bit more, work, and maintain some level of function instead of living on the bathroom floor. Good luck!
  • +1 to being grossed out by cooking meat. I was able to eat grilled chicken, but now I can't even do that. I ended up eating pretzels for lunch. Fortunately, I haven't been puking. I'm grateful because I know it could be a lot worse.

I am still very exhausted. I can barely stay awake at the end of the day. My boobs still hurt, but not quite has bad. I'm really looking forward to second Tri. I get to find out tomorrow how much longer I have left!

  •  Today my back is killing me, and the stupid plastic lecture hall chairs were not helping. It's definitely warm bath time
  • Constipation!! So bad. Literally had to resort in a suppository. Still backed up but got some temporary relief for a hot minute. I've decided to not take zofran today because I think it's part of the cause. I honestly can't tell a difference. Still feel like poo when I was taking it and I do today.
  • @jkatkins zofran does lead to constipation, so that could definitely be part of it

So I haven't been feeling sick the last few days but I have noticed that I just can't eat much. I don't have aversions to food, I just can't handle more then a few bites here and there of whatever I'm eating. I feel full really fast. Has anyone else experienced this?
YESS!!!!! I noticed this the last few days! I cant finish anything lately and if I push myself to do so, I end up throwing it all up!
Glad I'm not the only one! It seems weird to me considering everyone else seems to be wanting to eat more.
This is me too. I'm eating about 1/2 of what I'd normally eat at a meal. Any more than that, and almost inevitably I feel terrible or throw up. Better to cut meals in half and add a meal or snack in somewhere for sure!

Nausea has been minimal for me so far, thankfully. I get the occasional wave of... almost like a motion sick feeling... here and there. Seems to happen when I'm really hungry or extremely full, or when there's a smell bothering me. Sore boobs are a constant, and bloating. My major complaint is the exhaustion. I'm consistently getting 8-10 hours of sleep every night and still need a nap after work. I sometimes have trouble keeping my eyes open during the day, and I get winded and exhausted after the smallest tasks, like folding a basket of laundry.
I'm trapped in this weird quote bubble - man do I suck at using the bump on my phone! - but I wanted to say that I could have written your post almost verbatim. Boobs, exhaustion, semi-random nausea. I hear you @klburke88
  • I guess I can add nose bleeds to the list.  They're not horrible, just bleeding when I blow my nose. I never get nose bleeds, but I've had them for the past 3 days now.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Nauseous and exhausted this week.
  • @thisgirlagain I don't have heart burn yet for this pregnancy, but in my last pregnancy, sipping hot water with lemon slices or lemon juice helped with heart burn. Also, not laying down for about an hour after I ate helped too.
  • The constipation is awful. I'm so uncomfortable. MS is easing a tiny bit but man, what I would give to drink a bottle of miralax.

  • I am pretty much symptomless this pregnancy. I'm not bragging-- trust me, my morning sickness in my first two pregnancies lasted for months, I had ligament pain, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, and dizziness.  It is actually kinda scaring me that I'm ten weeks along and have had no symptoms besides I'm tired.  Every day the thought crosses my mind-- is this baby really in there and growing!?  I am looking forward to my ultrasound next week.
  • @allowachick I ended up throwing up and having nausea all night last night so back to the zofran for me. I'll take constipation over the severe nausea 24-7 any day. Almost 10 weeks. My other 2 pregnancies MS lasted till 16 and 20 weeks! Hoping this one ends way earlier!!!

My first pregnancy was what you're experiencing now. It can definitely be worrisome but everything will be fine. Funny how pregnancies can be so different from one kid to the next.

Does anybody else feel like your nausea is significantly worse when you're constipated? I definitely think there's a connection for me. I'm currently using all my willpower not to start a "I just pooped" thread to celebrate that achievement (if it ever happens) because wow does it make a difference.
Yes. Definitely. I'm like a completely new person. Lol I love the thread idea.

It really does feel like an achievement. I was finally able to go after 6 days yesterday and wanted to call all the people to share my joy.
I will have to pay attention next time to see how my nausea is when I'm "full".

  • @jkatkins here's to an end to the MS soon, for all our sakes!
  • I am so freakin' thirsty all of the time; yet the thought of drinking anything makes me green.  The nausea and fatigue are so much worse this time around :(

I was dealing with that too!! The only thing I finally found that I could keep down was slowly sipping orange Gatorade.

Anyone else get the really uncomfortably "full" feeling in the evenings? This just started a few days ago, but even if I only eat a small dinner I feel REALLY full and somewhat nauseous all night. For reference I'm 10 weeks.

ETA and no, I'm not constipated. So far I'm a pregnancy pooping unicorn  :D

And then last night I had the combination of feeling really full AND being hungry right before bed.

  • @lund I definitely get the over full feeling, exacerbated by the fact that I am still adjusting to eating less, especially at dinner. And yes also to feeling hungry and over full at once. Grrrrrr....

  • @lund Yup, last night we were over at my parents house and I was starving and ate all the chips and salsa, then wasn't hungry for dinner, but had to eat anyways, because it was all so good though, and suffered.

  • If you're feeling bad and you haven't tried the B6/unisom combo then you really need too. I was feeling terrible on Wednesday so I started it and I'm a new person the past 2 days.
  • @lund yes.  I mentally think i'm starving and then I go to eat and get full so quickly.  I thought it was in my head at first but its becoming more consistent of a feeling.
