Okay guys, here's my confession (hope I don't get flamed too badly):
Despite mixed reviews from all over the place (including our own BMB), we decided to go ahead and do the Sneak Peek Early Gender DNA test. I took the test on Monday and got the results back today and it looks like my intuition was confirmed.... we're having another BOY. Although we'll still have an ultrasound to confirm everything, I trust the results 100%.
No flames here!!! I did the same thing, we got a girl result. We're totally not buying anything or making plans until we get the ultrasound to confirm... but we totally told our 2 y/o he's getting a baby sister.
@ashleyf911 Congratulations on your GIRL!! That's so exciting!
We were in the process of placing a deposit down for our new Bernese Mountain dog puppy after ours passed away this past spring, but stopped it once we discovered we were pregnant (surprise). The Mama just had puppies two days ago, and I'm tempted to. I miss my best buddy at my side and the house feels incomplete. However, my family would think I've lost my mind, but my DH is totally on board.
@mmom3 we got our third dog, a pit/lab mix, two weeks before my daughter was born. My parents were not impressed, but that dog is my daughters best friend. Do it!!!
I love makeup but I also do it as a job so I have more than any person should. I put on cc cream, blush, gloss, and mascara on if I go anywhere. I do also have an airbrush machine when I want to get really fancy.
Ooh I would LOVE an airbrush machine (and actually know how to use it)

How did training go with a baby? I have an older daughter (6) and a son (2). I trained our other dog for over 2 years until my daughter was born. We were training for competive obidence so he was the best behaved dog ever. That's my biggest concern. But all those late nights He was there for both kids.
i know some people can go days with dry shampoo but sadly I am not one of them. My hair requires daily washing or a ponytail is all that looks ok
I'm actually going to suggest that you maybe haven't found your dry shampoo yet. It took me like 4 brands until i found one that works for me. Also dry shampoo is my BFF and I push it on everybody.

@mmom3 Nova, the puppy, is our largest dog so really she just needed to learn that she couldn't crawl all over the baby. Once she got over that, it was easy. Now my daughter is the one climbing all over her. We've never had a problem with either of my other two dogs either. They're both small so size wasn't an issue with them. We didn't really do anything special. We just brought her home and they adjusted really quickly! Our oldest dog is a 7 year old grumpy jack russel and even he's great with her. But every dog is different. I think as long as you're good about keeping an eye on the dog when they're around baby, everything should be fine!
Put me in the "I like makeup" club. I get frustrated when people imply that I feel like I have to, when in reality, I just like it. I wear it most days, but I also balance with a bare face because I want my daughter to feel like whatever you like the most is the best for you. I'm all about balance and making sure she feels like there isn't one right way to be as a girl/grown woman.
@mmom3 I totally suggest doing it now! We got my husky a week before we found out I was pregnant with DD. She treats DD like her puppy and watches out for her. When we brought her home from the hospital she licked her head to no end and sat and watched over her bassinet at night. Having them grow up together has been amazing and has made her very tolerant of what kids may do.
My daughter has a fundraiser for school. Because we are forking out enough money already for tuition and monthly fees, I'm not donating a dime. We told family/friends about it, but told them there was zero pressure to donate.
Tell me where all my other money is going, first, then maybe I'll consider raising some. With our son we raised plenty, but his fees per month were about half what they have been bumped to now. Just sketchy.

Yes!!!! This! I wear it because I want to, not because I have to, and I will NEVER pressure my daughter to look a certain way.

I totally agree with this - some just do absolutely nothing for me. anything that goes on "clear-ish" is basically useless for me. I like batiste.
Also - if you have Dark hair... cocoa powder works really well and as a bonus you smell like chocolate! Blonde - cornstarch does wonders!
my FFFC is that I've done ZERO exercise in the last 6-7 weeks. Not that I do much to begin with honestly.... but I don't even walk the dog anymore. I get home from work, get in bed and don't move again until the next day....
I keep seeing all these articles about staying healthy during pregnancy - I don't know how women do it. I don't have the energy or drive

@bb3vj3n girl you rest! I used to walk my daughter anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours every day and the last month at least I haven't walked her at all because I feel so crappy. You'll get your energy back eventually. I promise you're not the only one

Yes to all of this ! It's driving my husband crazy but I just can't.
I shave my legs every day. I hate the feeling of stubble on my legs and it seems to come back every day if I don't get rid of it.
As for people touching my belly I think I said this before but I will NOT be OK with it. I told MH today I want a maternity shirt that says "don't touch me". He said he already had one saved in his cart online.
I totally judge the mess in the background of people's pictures, particularly selfies. I am not talking about disorganized kids toys or clutter, but mess and dirtiness. There is zero reason you need five 7-11 cups on your dresser while you are trying to take a cute picture. Please clean the background up, so I can focus on the picture and not your inability to throw away your trash.
@barrelocarol That's looking like how this pregnancy is going to go. Still no energy and I'm in second tri. I don't know what to do to even help myself at this point, I'm so. Wiped.
FFSC: I've never gone to the gym unless Pilates at the Y counts. Maybe if I got up and simply went for a walk. I do notice the longer I lounge around in the morning the worse I feel! @heatherdubrow
@chasingroygbiv You sound like me! I started going to water aerobics thinking "if seniors can do it, so can I" and now I teach it and I'm so happy with the shape I'm in. It feels great.
Sign up to teach something somewhere! Sounds crazy, but that's the ONLY way I get moving...Bc if I don't show up, someone's gonna have words with me!
As a FTM, I'm starting to get the impression that 2nd trimester is like a lie or mirage to get us to force ourselves through first trimester.
"You'll have so much energy... in second trimester." "You'll be able to eat food... in second trimester." "You'll enjoy being pregnant... in second trimester."
The holy grail of trimesters, it seems. I want to believe! Really, I do!
Me too @vflux33 but I've fallen for it every time and it's only proven to be true in one pregnancy. Hate to be that Debbie downer today, but I want to feel good so bad!
@vflux33, here's the truth about the second trimester. There are still days you feel like crap, and times that you're like "whyyyyyy????"
But then after the 9 months are over, and you look back on your pregnancy, you'll recognize that second trimester really was the easiest. Especially the second half of it where you feel baby kicking away, and you aren't still having the leftover every day sickness from first trimester. But you aren't in the "I'm a whale and I'm so uncomfortable" stage yet.
This is coming from someone who threw up well into second trimester. It still is the "best" trimester.

Omg yes! I wish I would have heard this in my first pregnancy. "You'll have more energy and can do more" was a lie. "It's possibly the best of the 3" was more true for me...Still not like tap dancing or anything, but it got better and better. Anything was and is better than first trimester for me!
Re: FFFC* - 8/25
I shaved mine on the weekend. First time in a MONTH.
Don't flame me!!! I just wear pants 24/7.

I'm banking on it.....2nd trimester can't get here fast enough....11+3. So close and yet so far away
So, don't feel bad. Do what you can. Sometimes just living life is exercise enough and I'm saying this as a person who is very active now!
