Anyone use essential oils? I've been using them for everything and I have no idea which ones are safe to use during pregnancy and I don't see my OB until October.
check out the FB group "Using Essential Oils Safely ". They really recommend no use during first tri, and really good guidelines for later. I like hydrosols for pregnancy and infants.
Anyone remember what I can take for congestion and drainage? Somehow I have both. I can't remember what I did with my paperwork from my first pregnancy and haven't even called my doctor yet for a first appointment. Should probably do that...

@artlea2013 I've had a cold/allergies for the past week too. I take Claritin and do the saline nasal rinses. Most of the good meds can't be taken until after first tri. Thanks for the list @mileswithmyles!
@dinonugget I have the WORST allergies. No joke, I look like a zombie off Zyrtek. But alas I have stopped all allergy and asthma meds to try to go natural. I think I will def try the saline rinse. I am on the tiniest does of a benzo (.5 mg/day) and you aren't supposed to mix with benedryl so my one life saver has been taken off of the table.
@justsuzie I can totally commiserate! I have awful allergies and I have asthma too. I haven't taken my Allegra D since I found out I was pregnant and I'm so miserable!! This stuffy nose sucks
@justsuzie and @Jlr025 agreed that allergies suck! My favorite is Allegra D but between pregnancy and breastfeeding I've learned to deal with just Claritin. My OB also gave me the ok for Flonase when it's really bad. I just want to be able to breathe and am totally jealous of DH who is passed out all doped up on the good meds.
@artlea2013 I have a bad cold right now and I've been doing benedryl and Tylenol, at night especially, and both are safe. I've had to use pregnancy safe meds during all my fertility treatments and miss the good stuff! Haha. Saline rinses and netti pots also are a lifesaver! Hope you feel better soon!
