strollers?

Who has bought one yet, and tell me if you love it? I know there was a prior discussion on this but I don't think everyone had purchased at that point. I want one that has the pram-style bassinet for infants that converts to a regular stroller for toddlers. Bonus if it also includes an infant seat. I know this is basically the full Uppa Baby set but I don't want to pay $850.

Re: strollers?

  • I have the Graco Modes travel system. I paid around $275 at Target. One of my good friends has it and loves it.

  • I got an Eddie Bauer one. It's the travel system, so it should come with a car seat that attaches but we got it second hand and free so there was no seat. We plan on baby wearing so once he's bigger and fits the stroller well pull it out but I couldn't pass up free. I mentioned to the registry guy at buy buy baby that's the one we had and he said we lucked out cuz the EB sets are really nice and durable.

I got the Graco Click Connect Pace travel system with Snugride infant seat. I was on the fence about an infant seat, but got one since he will be born in November and it's easier than baby wearing with a winter coat in the snow. I chose it because I got it for $50 (clearance for $100 and had a $50 gift card from buying the convertible seat.) Both the seat and stroller are very light weight and compact, which is important since I've had two shoulder surgeries and a bad back. I also have a compact sedan, so I needed something small enough to fit in my trunk. We don't have sidewalks since we live on a busy street in a lake community, so I don't think we will go for many strolls in the near future unless we go out. Most of the time we use a stroller will be on sidewalks, parking lots, and in stores, so I am okay with it. I like the City Select and have it on our registry for when he's out of an infant seat and / or has a sibling, but it's expensive and I don't expect anyone to buy it for us. DH wanted one with air tires, but he's been surprisingly frugal about baby stuff and didn't like the price tag!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • We had the City Select with my daughter and really liked it. I like how the seat is up much higher than a lot of strollers. My only problem with it was that it was heavy and a pain to pick up when folded, but that was why it was so sturdy on the street.

  • We used the Graco Click Connect Travel System with DS. I love it! Very easy to transfer the infant seat from stroller to car. And the stroller folds up very easily. I'm getting a sit and stand stroller this time around because I'll need two places since DS will be just over 2 when this one is born.
  • We got the Mutsy Evo ($275 off of Amazon for the clearance colors). It reclines almost all the way and folds really easily! My favorite part is that the seat can face you or face the other direction. Only negative so far is that it doesn't have too many accessories and doesn't come with a cupholder or a belly tray.
