I won a fitbit at work and told DH I was probably never going to use it so he could have it instead. He got all excited and has yet to even register it/plug it in/however it works. This was 2 years ago.

@peachy13 I made a huge mistake about 3 years ago and gave my husband a fitbit for xmas. It would have been a good idea, because he's a pretty active guy, but the timing couldn't have been worse; It was a few weeks after our daughter was born and it was that fun time of life where you are getting no sleep, no exercise, and are pretty miserable (I promise this time is short and will pass!). However, at that time it was literally the worst idea I've ever had, because all it did was remind him how little sleep he was getting, and how little time he had for exercise. It was the first time he ever returned a gift.....
@kickball7091 I loved having my Fitbit after DS was born! It was to helpful in those sleep deprived hazed days to be able to have a visual of how many times i got up to feed in the night. It helped me keep track of everything!
Just want to preface this by saying I love DH to pieces and he is the best person I'll ever be with, but does anyone else get curious about the lives of your exes? Specifically, if they are married/have kids, do you scope it out? My last serious bf before DH just got married this past weekend and wedding photos were uploaded on FB today. I was pretty excited to check them out! It's pretty cool to see him wearing a wedding band and doing a first dance and everything. The wedding looked really nice, beautiful weather and flowers and everything, but the bride doesn't look great in my opinion. Trying hard to not sound too petty here, but her dress doesn't flatter her, her makeup looks too unnatural, and she's not smiling in any of the pictures. Oh well.

I had my first GD appointment this morning. Still overwhelmed and still feeling stupidly emotional about it, but we'll see how it goes. My post-breakfast number was really good (says the dietician), albeit a 2hr pp reading instead of a 1hr... so that's a start.
Fyi. The fruit punch gd drink really isn't that bad. It just tasted like normal fruit punch. Not super sweet fruit punch, not flat soda. Just regular old fruit punch.
I also expected it to be thick - like syrupy. It was just like regular liquid.
Fingers crossed that the appointment goes well!

I had orange. It's definitely my least favorite. It was warm too, which is always harder for me. I can get it down quickly if it's cold. Hoping they're quick with the results and I'll know today if I have to do the 3 hour on Saturday.

Yes, and usually I just laugh and count my lucky stars! My first love is not on any social media though, and for that I'm grateful. I don't think I could avoid the temptation of looking and no matter what, even if he married a troll, I would be jealous.
Oh man. I'm waiting for my ultrasound with my MFM and there's a woman with her husband also waiting and she's on the phone crying and saying they found something bad in her ultrasound and she has to get rechecked. Oh my heart is breaking for her. Poor thing. I hope it's nothing serious
@Tennis11785 good to hear! They gave me my choice of flavors and I picked fruit punch but I wasn't sure it was a good choice. I think I had orange last time, and it was ok at first but hard to drink the whole thing.

@Tennis11785 Totally agree on the Fruit Punch. When it's cold, it pretty much tastes like Capri Sun. The only thing I don't like about it is the speed at which you're supposed to finish. I guess I'm a slow drinker, because I always feel like I'm racing the clock to finish in 5 minutes.
@kickball7091 They sent me home with my drink and did not tell me how quickly to drink it--just to eat 1.5-2 hours before and show up for my appt 30 mins later. Last time (different OB) I drank it in the office and I think they did make me drink it within a certain time, but I forgot about that part.

Why do so many women driving minivans tailgate? I just noticed this recently. (Also, I'm not one to say that women are bad drivers, but 99% of the time I see a minivan, a woman is driving. Just how it is.) I feel like once I see a minivan behind me it's a 50/50 shot on whether or not they'll tailgate me, which is much worse than my odds with other cars. Presumably these women have kids (or drive kids around, at least) so why wouldn't they drive safely?!
ETA: I know there are probably some women on this board who drive minivans and this is not a personal attack. Not everyone who drives one is a shitty driver.
@MJDsquared I've noticed the opposite problem, where everyone in a minivan goes 10-15 mph below the speed limit and I end up tailgating them.
Side note: does anyone own a van these days that is NOT a Honda Odyssey? Growing up in the delightful days of the Chrysler T&C I find it weird that there aren't many reputable vans on the market now.

I drive a Kia Sedona and loooove it. It's pretty much the exact same as the Odyssey, but about $10-15k cheaper.
As to van drivers being crappy drivers, I almost always get tailgated by crappy, beat up mini vans or BMWs. There is no in beteeen...I'm *usually* a good driver, especially in the van, exactly because of what PP said - my kid is in the car. But if I do start sucking, I'm usually the one going 10 under the speed limit
I just want one of those giant Costco bags of M&Ms (like 8 lbs or something?) at my desk at work so I can just have a little container of M&Ms every day for a long ass time. Lol. I've been thinking about this for at least an hour...
My dog was being a huge dick this morning and hiding under our guest bed (she used to do this at our old apartment but hasn't since, so it's been at least a year, but I think longer) and keeping me from putting her in her crate so I could go to work so I was yelling at her and so mad. I finally tricked her and got it figured out and made it to work but now I just want to cuddle with her because I feel guilty, even though she was being horrible.
@MJDsquared maybe it's cause they're too busy yelling at annoying kids in the back to pay close enough attention to their distance from the driver in front of them? One theory anyway haha
@elcd458 we have a Dodge Caravan and I like it. It's got all the bells and whistles and though it's not as pretty as an odyssey, it does the job, and is WAY cheaper.
@kvacmak The Odyssey ads get me with that built-in vacuum cleaner... which is silly since I have a shopvac in the garage... but I can't stand having a dirty car! I'm glad to know there are still other more affordable options!
@elcd458 proud Odyssey driver here (and non tailgater.. ) and I love it. I think I test drove every van on the market and nothing compared to the Odyssey. That said, they are not cheap - I think I almost fainted when I saw the price tag, and we ultimately ended up without the vacuum or the entertainment package, but I love everything else. And I just keep a hand vac in the garage and it's easy to clean (did it today while the girls were at school). My life is so exciting!
@peachy13 so my last serious bf before DH is 30, he still lives with his mom, he's been with his gf (who is super sweet) for nearly 5 years now, and he still hasn't made any effort to get them to move in together, or even talk about their future together. And one of my bffs just pointed out that this girl looks like me when we were in high school. Rumor has it he hasn't moved on in the 12 years it's been since we graduated.
Although i creeped DH's ex (they were engaged at one point but she cheated on him with like, 4 guys from her dorm building). She's been married 3 times, has 2 kids by 2 different guys (1 of which is not any of the men she was married to), and can't find a stable job.
@blueskies17 i love my snoogle! Just a random tip though that if for some reason you are having a bad night's sleep with it, try for that night going back to your old pillow routine. Sometimes I just need that one night switch... it has only happened maybe 3 times but each time it happens, I end up falling asleep with my regular pillows, and then the next night I go back to the snoogle.

Question for the ladies who have had their GD test already/previously... how long does it take for the results to come back? Is it same day? (I have my test tomorrow afternoon, so I'm wondering if I'll know whether I passed/failed by EOD Thursday.)
@djd0404 I found out next day. My results posted online at my provider's patient web portal before I got the call for both my 1hr and 3hr, but they called by mid-day in both cases.
