Just a fun fact to add regarding heart rate during O, I just checked my Apple Watch stats for my estimated O day (which I estimated based off of OPK, CM, BBT, and the fact that I get what I call O pains because it hurts on the day all that adds up) and verified that my average heart rate was about 2 BPM higher than an average rest day.

Doesnt really do anything because it's 1 persons data for 1 month but it's just interesting.

    Edit: grammar. Damn mobile!

  • @lalala2004 totally, I don't think it actually affects anything I do, but it's more about retrospective data related to LP, etc., I think that annoys me, or feeling like I don't actually know retrospectively when exactly I O. Like, it's fine, it doesn't matter. I think I just wish bodies were robots. lol

Hello everyone!! I'm new to the forum and glad to find a number of related posts. Well, I have been going to a number of forums to seek the best possible solutions on infertility. But, didn't get satisfactory answers from anywhere, I'm sorry! Hope people here will share their experiences, know-how about the treatments, procedures, reliable clinics etc. My family seems to suffer from genetic fertility disorder, IMO. A number of women have been TTC'ing for like ages TBH, but nothing comes positive. One of my cousin (male) has been suffering from Kallmann syndrome. His physical changes related to puberty got delayed because of this genetic disorder. Different biochemical blood tests were done to assure the presence of this disease. And it was a negative. :( As a treatment prescribed by his specialist, he took Hormonal replacement therapies but things didn't improve. He is declared infertile now. Can someone help us in this? I'll really appreciate you POV.  I'll BRB. Hoping for answers!

@aliceduke There's a whole section of TB community that is related to infertility and trouble trying to conceive. I would lurk there for awhile to see if anyone has mentioned anything similar. Also be sure to read the "VISITORS: PLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING" thread first to see if you should be posting there as well. Just note, for each board there is one of these posts which lays the ground rules. We love to be supportive, we just want you to make sure you're in the right place first :)

  • Would love a second opinion on O date. Feeling very confused. BFN this morning. Just haven't had the heart to chart it yet. Thanks ladies

@icecubeinthedesert Thank you for taking a look!

Well the spotting was a light brown spotting. Not even enough for a panty liner really but I've gotten used to documenting it because I get random bursts of it, sometimes lasting 90 days at a time. Ugh.

Yes. I am typically anovulatory. I usually only have two periods a year without some sort of help. Which is why I was so thrilled by this cycle. I haven't charted temps very long, usually because there's nothing to chart without getting a period, you know? So I have no clue about baseline coverline over a long term. I have charted my two medicated cycles from my last pregnancy and their baseline is 97.4 and 97.5. Not sure if being medicated made a difference.

Edit to add: I also found out that I have a fibroid, so that may be why I have the brown spotting you think?

Siggy Challenge - Summer Movie Scenes

  • @josie12367 Unfortunately, yes, the fibroid could cause that :( I agree with @icecubeinthedesert

Thanks ladies. If I did ovulate on the 37th or 38th, then my timing suck, my cm sucked....basically it all sucked. Guess i'm in a wait and see game now as to which one is right. I don't think I did though, or at least i'm hoping I didn't. I want to agree with FF because of all the other signs I noticed, and the lack of them later in the cycle. Here's to hoping AF shows up and soon!

  • I have a coQ10 question. I read 'it starts with an egg' and understand there's 2 forms. And for TTC, ubiquinol is the recommended one cause it is easily absorbed. The book does say 'that 95% of coq10 in circulation is this form.' But then says 'if the label just says Coq10 without more information, you have to assume that it is the poorly absorbed ubiqione because ubiquinol is more expensive to produce' and to look for the specific word ubiquinol on the label.

I have been to our pharmacy multiple times... can not find anything that says either word. Everything just says Coq10. Every bottle lol. some are a lot more expensive than others.
I did find some on Amazon that actually say ubiquinol. But hoped to get some sooner than that. But at this point, that could be fastest lol.

am I looking to hard into this?

  • @catlady1215 I get nearly all my supps from Amazon.  More selection and then I can just order when it looks like I'm running low. ;)  Two days is NBD, really, in the grand scheme.
  • @catlady1215, I use the ubiquinol version from Costco. The same brand (it is a red label with a heart on it) makes 2 versions, one is ubiquinone and the other ubiquinol.

Related to this, what dose is everyone taking, and should doses be adjusted based on whether you use ubiquinol or ubiquinone? ISWTE recommended something like 200 or 300mg daily for RPL recommendations, but wouldn't you need less if it was ubiquinol? I've only been taking the 100mg (when I can remember to eat it at dinner) because of this. I guess I also figure some is better than none, and that stuff is not super cheap.

  • @businesswife which brand do you take? But I'm guessing there's no 'bad' brand. And have you tried different brands? Curious about size of pills. I struggle with anything to big. Ones I've seen in stores look ok. But can't see online.

    @icecubeinthedesert sadly I don't have a Costco membership.
for the dose, the book says 100mg of ubiquinol is the same as 200mg of ubiquinone. So double basically. I was going to start with 200. But it says 'advanced family plan:recurrent loss' is 300 mg ubiquionol. so debated on that also. But didn't want to do it till we had the testing done. We have a genetic consult on tues so I'll ask for sure then.

  • @catlady1215 I've taken CoQ10 from both Trader Joe's and Costco (high five @icecubeinthedesert). My RE recommends the ubiquinol over ubiquinone. We take 200mg ubiquinol approximately daily (probably 5-6 times per week). I think you can start with any amount you're comfortable with and increase if desired. Plus side, my RE and my endocrinologist said that CoQ10 can only help -- it can't hurt you -- so you should certainly feel comfortable with any low dose.

  • @catlady1215 I order Jarrow brand Ubiquinol from Amazon 120 caps of 100 mg each and I pay $28.10 with a subscribe and save. I am taking 3 caps and MH is taking 1. I started at 1 and increased to 3 over the first month I took it because I read it sometimes causes kind of a caffeinated effect (have not noticed that happening). FYI I do think this brand includes a small amount of soy if anyone is avoiding soy.
  • @zamora_spin not a bad price at all! I'll look those up. Some of the pharmacy ones are 40-50 for 30. I want DH to take them also so yikes!

Theyre not big pills are they? I'm a baby and struggle lol

  • @josie12367 posting chart here instead of TWW if you prefer to discuss here. But, like I said...I just started temping this cycle...so I do not think I was consistent enough as far as when I temp in the AM. I stopped temping on 8/12 which is when I think I O'd (based on CM and OPK). I know terrible timing to stop temping, but was on vacation/camping with my parents and just overall trying not to stress about TTC.

  • @kperrucci did you keep doing OPKs before/after that positive? I know I sometimes get 2-3 days of positive OPKs (but less than 48 hours, if that makes sense), and my temps will show that I O'd after the positives stopped. Were you completely dry re: CM after CD 12? Or did you just not note?
  • Pretty much dry CM after CD 12. Since I wasn't diligent with temping/testing I am guessing I O'd later? Or am just having a longer LP that I expected I would have. So anxious to start new cycle so I can try and get it right this time.... I mean...even if I O'd later, couldn't do much about it since we were in a tent that was pitched right next to my parents hahahaha, def not trying to HIO next to my parents.
  • @kperrucci I have a 14-16 day LP, I think the longest it's even possible to have is 18 days? But more than 16 without a BFP is pretty uncommon. I would guess you O'd a little later and tend to have a long LP.

yeah, that's what I am thinking. I had spotting on saturday, but nothing since. Which is unusual for me. Usually when I start spotting it's consistent for a few days then AF starts. I'm sure this has happened before and I am just super aware of it right now. Plus, I really have only had 3 cycles since Mirena removal. So I probably don't even know what is normal for me at this point.

Is it possible to not ovulate at all, but still have positive OPK and EWCM? Not trying to be paranoid here....just trying to get an idea of what's going on. I prob O'd a day or two later....that would put me at 14 or 13 DPO.
  • @kperrucci yes, that is possible. OPKs and CM can tell you that you may O, but there is no way to confirm it without temps/an ultrasound. Some women do get multiple patches of fertile CM and multiple patches of positive (or almost positive) OPKs. Typically multiple patches of positive OPKs is related to PCOS, though, from what I understand. Given that your latest temps are quite a bit higher than your previous ones, I think you probably did O, but unfortunately there just isn't any way to know unless you get a BFP lol since obv that would mean you O'd.
  • lol...so many BFNs over here. Trying to just be patient and wait it out a few more days before testing again. I am hoping I O'd and that I was just off on my timing/I have no clue now long my LP is. Thanks for talking me off the ledge. I think I am just prematurely panicking and obviously didn't temp consistently.
  • @kperrucci  There's also a type of cyst (lutienizing unruptured follicle or something along those lines) which basically mimics ovulation (ie the LH surge happens and your body gets ready for O, but then the egg just never comes out)...and with this type of cyst temp still rises and so the chart looks like a normal chart (I know so great right?... *eyeroll*) When I get home I'll try and find the example chart in TCOYF and take a pic for you -- perhaps there might be some similarities.  I think you can also have multiple LH surges for reasons other than PCOS, even if your body is gearing up to O and then decides to wait a few days... that could be what happened which would give you what seems to be a longer than expected LP.  Especially as you mentioned you were on vacation - this might have been the trigger for your body not to O quite yet.

  • @canucklehead123 thank you! Trying not to be too worried...its our first cycle and i sucked at temping. And "youre normal till youre not" lol. But i will keep all of that in mind once my next cycle finally starts.
  • @catlady1215 the Jarrow pills are kinda big but are very nicely coated and I find them easy to swallow.
