Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
So I'm currently living in England (hence why this newb started the newbie thread! Hope y'all don't mind!), but I'm originally from Texas. My husband is in the Air Force. We have two DDs, one is 7, the other is 16 months. We also have two fluff ball shih tzus, Benjamin Brewster, and Peppermint Fatty. I'm unemployed at the moment so I can finish my Masters, but have a Bachelors in Radiology. I've got lots of hobbies that include binge watching documentaries, horseback riding, hiking, wondering around new places, coffee drinking, paint and sips, and clearance shopping.
I also have PCOS, and do not ovulate regularly. I didn't think we were ready to start trying again seriously, but here I am. I knew we were in trying mode when I started temping again, AND my husband started asking what my temps were...lol. I've been a bumpie for years (BGs say 8 years now) mainly on this board. I've always found this board to be a great outlet during the TTC process. Happy to be back in this community, and can't wait to get to know you ladies!
DD: 07/19/18

How many months have you been TTC? 3 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? PNV, OPK, temping, CM monitoring, just bought some pre-seed
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have 2 dogs (mutts) that we are obsessed with. Like they sleep on pillows next to us and stuff. We are nuts. I like to read and excercise (although I just figured out that I like to workout in the last year so I am not super fit or anything). My husband works a lot and his work is his main hobby other than guitar. TW we have a niece who is 2 and we are obsessed with her. She loves 2 hours away so we travel with the dogs 2 weekends a month to spend time with her. end TW
I've been lurking here for months and honestly thought it was finally time to just particiape!

How many months have you been TTC? Just started this month
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Just charting for this cycle. If we get a BFN then I'll start temping and CM monitoring next cycle.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have a beautiful DD born Nov 13. I was a part of the Nov 13 BMB but took a break from TB for a while when I went back to work after maternity leave.
I love to go camping, backpacking, and hiking almost every weekend in the summer but am a complete recluse in the winter. I hate cold weather and live in a place that can get to -30 degrees F with wind chill... WTF was I thinking when I moved here!?! But the people are amazing and I have two wonderful jobs. My normal 8-5 job is fun and challenging and I work with awesome people but my second job is my passion. I am a HS softball coach during the spring softball season and I absolutely love every minute of it. It's a great excuse to be outside and play in the dirt for a couple hours everyday and share the sport I love.
We have a couple furbabies, Moose (dog) and Charlie (cat). I'm also a Pinterest-aholic. I have a problem. We are having a big birthday party for DD in November and I already have it planned out thanks to my friend Pinterest. I am super excited to be back in the community and can't wait to get to know everyone!

@jaymayhatton what's you're favorite recent Pinterest project? My DH reluctantly plays along with my crazy Pinterest ideas that "can't be too difficult..." We currently have a "concrete countertop" curing in the backyard - results TBD.
You'll have to let me know how the concrete countertop project goes! I love the look of them!

Where to begin?
We were trying to get pregnant back in 2014-2015, but in February of 2015, I found out I had stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer. It was extremely aggressive, so I had no time to preserve my eggs before starting treatment. They said if I waited, I would have become terminal. So I went through 16 rounds of chemo, with 6 different drugs, then a mastectomy on my left side and 44 rounds of radiation. In October I will be NED (no evidence of disease) for two years. I have finally been cleared to start trying to get pregnant, however, chemo destroyed a lot of my fertility. I am currently seeing a reproductive endocrinologist, who works at the cancer hospital I was treated at, and she is working with me on the best way to help me get pregnant. I am aiming to do this as naturally as possible since my body has already been through enough crap. I am all about snark, but I am also able to cut it off when needed. Anyway, glad to be joining you all.
@jaymayhatton Welcome from another newb! My DD's fifth was a My Little Pony Party. We had so much fun! I loved planning it because you can do all kinds of colors, and rainbow everything. I definitely let my girly side run wild (I'm a tomboy myself, and my DD is ultra girly girl). What kinds of games are you doing? We had a bobbing for apples station for Apple Jack, a potato sack race for pinkie pie, and a pinata of rainbow dash because she "flys"...lol. The adults got to participate, and I think we had just as much, if not more, fun than the kids!
@bjkay22 I'm a fellow reader as well! Though for the past few months I've read nothing but textbooks...ugh. What are you reading right now? I NEED a good book to dive into. It's my "get away" time, and the textbooks are just not cutting it!
@atb9515 I think men secretly like crafting...especially if it involves "manly" stuff. I recently took interest in painting furniture and my husband totally tried to take over. I was like, "Nah man! You wanted nothing to do with this till you saw me bring out a sander!"
@jaymayhatton Sounds like we're hailing from the same region!!
@duckingfabulous thank you for sharing your story, glad you are joining us! Also, love the snark!
Months ttc: we're only officially starting in November as we have to go overseas next year for a wedding and I can't be too pregnant to fly. Pretty annoying as we had just decided to start trying.
Waydtgku? : currently temping and just bought opk's for next month. I figure two months of data will give us a head start for timing in Nov.
About me: no kids, no pets. Hobbies include binge watching TV, dipping in and out of learning Spanish, and crochet. And yes my crochet collection includes a pile of baby booties and hats
I recently started a new job where about 5 of my colleauges are pregnant, all conversation is baby related which is making it harder to wait.
Can't wait to get to know you guys!
@josie12367 you are absolutely right! My husband usually starts to hover as soon as I start something that he wanted nothing to do with during planning. What all are you refinishing? Sounds awesome!
@duckingfabulous Welcome! I'm so sorry for all you've been through in the past few years
@hello_hoppy welcome!
@atb9515 lmao Home Depot is trouble!!!!! I get way too many ideas while walking around there!
@canucklehead123 north-central Montana! How bout you?
@josie12367 We'll be indoors with a couple jump houses so we will not have a bunch of space but so far I have planned a cutie mark station where they can pick their own cutie mark with temporary tattoos. My DD has been really into having her picture taken lately so I thought it would be fun to have "Rarity's Carousel Boutique" dress up and photo booth. I'll make a few tutus with cutie marks made from felt and glue them on then also have headbands with the horse ears and some with unicorn horns. I am also more of a tomboy than girlie girl and DD leans more to the girlie girl side. She loves dress up and wearing bows in her hair! I was also planning on a piñata! I might copy you on the bobbing for apples! That would be fun!!! Thanks for the idea!
@hello_hoppy welcome!!

How many months have you been TTC? 24 month total- 3 months since septum resection surgery.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? BBT, OPK and fertility diet.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have 2 miniature poodle fur babies, Max and Ruby. I teach Kindergarten and have had the pleasure of having some pretty awesome kids. My partner and I love spending time outside and one of my favourite pass times is planning backcountry camping trips.
Here is a bit of my ttc journey so far: When we first started I had expectations of getting pregnant quickly I was 27 and my partner was 26, obviously I was wrong. Last July, after 10 months of trying I finally had my bfp, I was walking on sunshine. At 8 weeks I miscarried. Everything seemed normal with my partner and myself, so my doctor gave us the go ahead to keep trying right after. Six months later, and no luck, I finally sought out an RE to see what was going on. It was there that I learned that I have what is called a septum in my uterus, a birth defect with extra skin that spreads across and down in the middle of my uterus that is without blood flow, inhibiting the possibility of implantation. In May of this year I had surgery in order to have it removed. So although I have been trying for a long time it has only been 2 regular cycles since my surgery, so it feels a bit like a fresh start.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting and monitoring CM and OPKs
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I'm married with a 14 mo old son and a senior cat. I work full time as a manager of a team dealing with business systems and projects at an insurance company. My favorite hobbies are travel and the outdoors (hiking and camping) -- I love exploring new places both near and far. My husband and I have been married exactly 10 years on Saturday (together for 14 years) and he is seriously my best friend and the best dad to our son. We waited a long time to start our family and we really want a sibling for him as soon as possible because we are older. *TW* I had a chemical pregnancy the first month we started trying *end TW* and AF just showed up today so I'm a bit bummed, but on the bright side I'll get to drink the special wine I bought several years ago for our anniversary, so there's that! Looking forward to contributing to this community!

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have been married for just over a year. We have a rescue dog shepherd mix who is 1 1/2 that we are pretty obsessed with and are working on training to be a therapy dog - I am an elementary school speech-language pathologist. We live on a lake and enjoy boating and spending time out on the water, ice fishing and snowshoeing in the winter.
As far as TTC... I surprised myself that we're "here." I think I've known in my heart that I was ready to try for a WHILE, but my head had to catch up and then it did all at once! I was convinced we couldn't afford it, and then that the house wasn't conducive to being at that point (back story: we found out about four months ago that our home was sold to us with multiple code violations and requires tens of thousands of dollars of work due to coding and resultant damages for a lack of it... without writing a book, it's been an emotional roller coaster and stressor that will still require several more months of major work, but repairs are finally rolling and there's an end in sight. We are currently living on one floor with storage out in the yard and joking that it's our apartment.) Something in me just finally kind of "snapped" and DH and I both feel ready now. For whatever reason I can kind of accept that life will never feel or be perfect and this is something we really want, so it's time to start trying!
