OB appointment on Thursday. Woot woot! I can't remember when they stopped transvaginal ultrasounds last time but I'm hoping I can keep my pants on this time! (I'll be 11w6d)
I had an appointment with the Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist today because I'm newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I got to see Peanut today and baby is doing great! I, however, have to start insulin immediately and I'm super scared. I have a great team of doctors supporting me and I'm sure I'll be fine.... just new to all of this and freaking out a little.
I have had QUITE the day today, my first appointment with my MW. I get to my MW appt and we do all the history, etc. and are just going to try for a heartbeat on the doppler. TW I go to lay down when I start gushing blood. Everywhere. She brings me to a private bathroom to change into pants another midwife has found me, and gives me a pad. I had no cramping or anything. So after, she thinks we should still look for a heartbeat, since she feels that it could have been the second sac finally expelling, or a hematoma. She did find a strong heartbeat. Such a horrible rollercoaster of emotions. I am still bleeding, but no cramps or clots. And it slowed down a lot after the initial gush. I do have an ultrasound tomorrow. I just need whatever positive thoughts and prayers you ladies can dig up!

@kalawa Sending you lots of love and light! Fx for a great ultrasound tomorrow!
Ultrasound yesterday went well except for a small SCH which should resolve itself. First OB app is Thursday and we'll discuss it then. Not sure if pelvic rest is in my future or not but I'm cutting my SO off until the doc says otherwise anyway. 50% because of the SCH and 50% because I have noooo sex drive right now.
@kalawa That sounds so so so stressful and scary!! Let us know how your US goes tomorrow.
First appointment is Thursday! Hoping we get an ultrasound but the hospitals policy on stuff had changed so not sure yet, but at least we well get to hear the heart beat.
Second appointment tomorrow, 12 weeks on a Friday. We'll do blood work for genetic testing and get to hear heartbeat. When we went for initial apt/ultrasound we saw heartbeat but didn't hear it so I'm excited to hear that sound again- so amazing.
@kalawa Keeping you in my thoughts and sending positive vibes! Such a scary experience, I hope you're doing ok.
my first appointment is tomorrow at 10:30!! I will be 8 weeks 4 days. It feels like I've been waiting forever and ever to hear this baby's heartbeat and I'm so nervous and excited. I've been having crazy dreams... most recently DH wasnt in the picture, instead I was married to Serena Vanderwoodsen (a character on a gossip girl LOL) and she was expecting our twins and I was expecting our single baby. WTF. I hope the dreams chill out after a good appointment. DH and j both feel scared to be too excited yet but I do feel very positive and optimistic!
My SIL just got a teaching job at the last minute and is no longer my go-to daytime babysitter for appointments. So we're bringing my 15 month old... UGH. The ultrasound is first thankfully and DH sand DS will be there and then DH will take him home to nap while I stay for the additional hour or so of questions and etc. Crazy day!!
Had my second appointment today at 11w1d. Got to see the little one and hear the heartbeat again. Also had my blood drawn for carrier and chromosome testing.
Just got off the phone with my women's health center, they called and I thought they were going to reschedule my appointment to another day... I got sad. But they were just calling to ask to push it back from 9am to 12pm for Friday! I also confirmed with them that we WILL GET TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT!!!
I am over the freakin' moon right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the positive thoughts and prayers! Had my US today and everything looked great! I got to see the baby's heartbeat, legs, arms, and it was wiggling around. TW The radiologist noted there was a small implantation bleed which could be from the placenta, or pooled blood from actual implantation of the egg. He also noted that the twin sac is officially gone, which could have been what I experienced yesterday.
Had 12 week apt today, heard heartbeat for first time- 166. Got blood drawn for testing and we said no to gender and yet they still took blood for it. Did that for our first kid too! Hoping I don't get queezy.
Had my first appointment on Tuesday. I thought I was 8 weeks but turned out I was only 6w4d!! Heartbeat was 109 which seems low to me but dr said it's good. I was told nothing to worry about but of course now I'm worried! Has anyone had this experience?
Just got back from my first appt!! DH and DS were there for the ultrasound, so we all got to hear the heartbeat!! 175 bpm!! We saw the little arms and legs and the baby was wiggling around which was really cool to see so early!!!!!!!! I am so excited! Also, my DD was adjusted one day and my DD is a March 26th!
@kitandcat - you say you got to see the baby? Was that part of an ultrasound or part of hearing the heartbeat? I get to hear mine tomorrow and I wonder how that works?

@crossfitbabybump - If they just told you that you're going to hear the heartbeat, then more than likely they'll just use a doppler to listen. You can hear the heartbeat with an ultrasound too but normally (at least in my office) you know in advance if you're getting an u/s. You could call them though and see if they have you down for an u/s tomorrow though or when you'll get one.
So I had my first OB appointment today. Didn't do much except give me cramps because of the pelvic exam. But it went well. This is the OB who ended up delivering my daughter, but not who I saw throughout the pregnancy. I decided to switch to him and I have a good feeling about it. We talked about my SCH and he said pelvic rest until my next ultrasound. That's in 4 weeks.
Yesterday was with the midwife and she couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. She wasn't worried because it's still early (11w2d) but it didn't sit well with my PAIF brain.
Today thankfully was my NT scan and not only was the heartbeat great but the technician said I have a "textbook baby" and the NT measurement was the smallest possible measurement. So, phew.
I had my first appointment on Monday. They tried to listen to baby's heart beat on the Doppler but couldn't because he/she is still tucked in there. They did a mini ultrasound and heartbeat was in the 180s. We talked about NIPT but we opted not to do it. We didn't have it done with my son either. I won't have another ultrasound until around 20 weeks. My next OB appointment is Sept 11th I think.
Had my first appointment yesterday and after reading everyone's posts I was looking forward to an ultrasound or hearing the baby's heartbeat but I didn't get either. Just the medical history questions and a pelvic exam. Ultrasound is scheduled for my next appointment in 4 weeks
@crossfitbabybump Yes I had an ultrasound... I am 8 weeks 4 days so they had to do a vaginal ultrasound, it's too early for over the belly. You get a really good picture with the vaginal ultrasound so we could see the little stumps for arms and legs and saw the baby moving!!! It was really really cool.
@kitandcat - I will be over 12w 4days on Monday when I have mine. Do you know if that's too early as well for a belly u/s? I cannot wait to see LO! Congrats on seeing yours, I bet it was wonderful!
@crossfitbabybump I had a belly u/s at 9 weeks and could see baby perfectly, even saw a little arm waving around! I'm excited for you finally getting to see your little one!!
@crossfitbabybump, I had an US last week at 7+2 and it was just abdominal. Normally it would be transvaginal but I have had some really negative experiences with this and requested them to see what they could do abdominally. We were able to see a heartbeat and measure baby. Only thing we couldn't do was get how many beats per minute the heart was. But we could tell it was strong.
My OB said my nuchal scan will be at 12 weeks and it will be abdominal.

@crossfitbabybump I had my u/s for dating at 8w6d with this one, 7w2d with my second, and before 7 weeks with my first, all of which were abdominal. I've never had a transvaginal, but I know many women do and get great pictures early on!
We told my MIL today. Went well for the most part. DH told her he wanted to call his grandma and aunt and tell them himself. She proceeded to beg to be the one to tell her sister. It was weird. He ended up giving in, just not worth the fight with her.
I had my first appointment with my OB on Thursday, Aug 17. Blood work and urine culture both good (other than my being anemic and needing an iron supplement). Heard the HB again which was awesome.
My OB did advise me that my right ovary now has a cyst the size of a plum (6cm). Apparently cysts are common during pregnancy but mine is larger than usual so they'll be keeping an eye on it. She said she wound not expect it to grow any larger and it should go away on it's own. If it causes me pain at any point I'm supposed to call in. Just a little something to shake things up I guess. But Baby continues to do great
