Membrane Stripping

40 weeks today! 
I've only been dilated to 1cm since week 36 (and 75% effaced) so I asked the doctor about membrane stripping today. She said since I'm now at my due date she would do it, and I'd know within 24 hours if it's worked or not. I had sharp cramps for about 2 hours and now I feel relatively fine again. Zero sign of giving birth anytime soon. 
Has anyone else had membrane stripping??

I asked my OB to do it at 39+2, as I was 2.5cm dilated and 70% effaced.  She said no bc my cervix wasn't soft enough.  At 39+5, I was 3.5cm, 80% and my cervix was super soft so she agreed to do it.  I started having contractions within an hour, and about 11 hours later my contractions were a steady 7 mins apart.  In had my daughter the next day, about 29 hours after being stripped.

Lucky! It's now been exactly 24 hours and I've had nothing more than sharp cramps.

I had mine done at 39+1. I was 1-2 cm dialated and very soft, not sure effacement - maybe 50? I had inconsistent contractions at 39+0 exactly, so I think it helped push me over the edge to have the strip at 39+1. That night had contractions 10-15 apart, then fizzled and came back stronger next in AM but still 10 mins apart. Went to doctor that AM and I was 4cm so she said, go to L&D, your dialated enough. Ironically between going home/leaving for hospital they increased to 5-7 min apart anyway. I'd def say go for it!!!!

It's now been just over 48 hours...and nothing.

not fun! Honestly I had this done twice with my second and it never worked . She came when she wanted too....I don't think it works unless your body is already ready to go.
