I had my 28 week appointment yesterday. Glucose challenge, ultrasound and prenatal checkup. I'm now officially considered third trimester so on to bi-weekly appointments. Next one is the 28th at 30 weeks.
3. How are you feeling this week?
For the most part okay. I'm having a hard time staying asleep.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
Rant- my MIL thinks it is necessary to ask about every intimate detail of our pregnancy. Especially after my ultrasound yesterday she wanted to know how long my cervix was. Um, none of your business plus I already googled it and I don't need you to tell me what I need to do to improve it. Rave- yesterday DH couldn't make it to my ultrasound so I brought the disk the tech gave us at 7 weeks to upload pictures to. I watched her save it and when I got home not only did that ultrasound not show up our 20 week ones were gone too. The doctor told me our little girl had a small cyst by her eye that will go away after she is born but I needed to go back and look at the pictures so I could see for myself. I called the office quite upset yesterday and the tech personally called me back, apologized, told me she was burning me a new disk and told me her personal experience with this particular condition which helped calm me a little bit.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now?
Yes and no. Compared to our first house this one is our dream home and we live in a great neighborhood. But like most people as soon as we moved in we noticed some issues that we weren't planning on having to deal with and it has made us create a wish list of things we would like to change. Some of the items are extensive/expensive and almost makes more sense to save that money we would invest in those projects into a completely new house.
@MKMandeville Eek! 3rd tri and bi-weekly appts! Now that's something I can get excited about!! Sorry about the cd but maybe it was meant to be so that you could talk to the tech about the cyst. Sounds like everything is going to be ok!
I have to go for
blood work for the glucose test, thinking I might stop on my way to work
tomorrow. 3.
How are you feeling this week?
I have been feeling
good this week other than heartburn at night I now sleep in a kind of sitting position
with like 3 or 4 pillows, which helps.
4.
Rants/Raves/Questions
Rave: My pack and
play came in today so I can't wait to get home from work to see it, DH husband
sent me a picture of the box. I love getting baby items it just make me feel
more organized and like I will be ready for LO when she arrives.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now?
I
love our new house it’s an older house with lots of character that has been
well looked after. However, I would love if I could move it 10 minutes down the
road to be next to the ocean oh and a finished basement would be nice.
Thank you @mymulligan! The tech made it sound like it was so small that it may even be gone by the time she is born. However, being a mom is scary. I constantly worry if DD is sick and I don't know and the fact our second little girl has this tiny little cyst immediately makes me think she is sick even though the doctor and tech reassured me she is perfectly healthy I just want to to hold her and kiss her and tell her she will be okay. Only 12 weeks to go!
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 26 weeks. Squash or kale. 2. Appointments this week? Blood work and glucose test on Sat 3. How are you feeling this week? Cramping and extremely tired with no relief when I sleep. And my back is killing me, I slipped a joint 2.5 years ago and because baby is so low that joint is acting up again..I just pray it doesn't slip again cuz that pain was no joke. 4. Rants/Raves/Questions I only feel baby in the very early morning before I get up..today I counted 10 kicks or so I think, but it wasn't nearly as quick as I felt them before (under 4 mins) but usually feel them in about 2 mins. I just wish I could feel him more often and that I knew for sure what I was feeling was kicks 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? a house down the shore or at a lake. Somewhere that seems like its own oasis even if it's not secluded. Not even close! we had found a house in a lake community right at the edge of the town we live in. And I fell in love. The house was small but we could build on it. It was so perfect. But DH put in for a state job and we don't know if we'll have to move, so we're stuck in our crappy townhouse rental until he hears otherwise.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 28 weeks and I think that's an eggplant. I obviously need to eat more variety of veggies.
NOOOOO TB cutoff the rest of my post. Boo and I didn't have it saved. I need to go to bed so quick recap from my long post. No appointments this week, we are starting on cleaning out what will be the nursery (FINALLY) and a plantation style home with a wrap around porch, 10 acres of land and a few farm animals.
1. 28 weeks 2. None 3. Tired (part pregnancy part jet lag) 4. Rant: I have a yeast infection and it's awful 5. A lake house would be mine too! We currently live in a condo but are moving into our new house in January. Definitely not a dream home but we have a little yard and a playground nearby so it will be a good place for LO.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 28/1 ...lantern or bunch of bananas
2. Appointments this week? Not this week! I did get my test strips to start monitoring my blood glucose to see if I have GD again. Can't do the glucose test because sugar drinks make me throw up after my bypass.
3. How are you feeling this week? Good but Starting to get some real hip and back pain especially when I just wake up and at the end of the day. 4. Rants/Raves/Questions
anyone else already getting leaky bbs? I didn't have that at all with my son so this is weird to me. It's only a tiny bit but it's so early!!!
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? Probably a beach home so no haha
@jka427 yes to the leaky bbs. It started last week sometime and I'm 28+2 now. It's my understanding it can really happen to any pregnant women just getting ready for delivery day but my doctor made it sound like it is really common for subsequent pregnancies.
@MKMandeville interesting! Glad to know it's normal haha
@maegpie I haven't needed a pad yet either but I just dug around and found a few I had left over (can't believe I even have them still!!!) just in case
I totally woke up sometime last night n saw a wet spot right where my boob had been and underneath was soaked. IDK if it was a lot of sweat cuz I sweat bad at night or if it was leakage. I've never had a wet spot on the bed from sweating
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 25 + 2 - size of a cauliflower 2. Appointments this week? None! 3. How are you feeling this week? My lower back hurts so bad and I keep getting these stabbing pains in my lower back. Have also been getting a crampy type pain under my belly. It feels like RLP but under my belly instead of on the sides of my belly. 4. Rants/Raves/Questions We're almost completely moved into our new house and I'm so excited to finally be out of our rundown trailer! But the roosters next door are driving me insane. 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? Our new house is definitely not my dream home, just a starter home. I would love to have more land a little bit out of town where we work instead of driving an hour and 15 minutes to work everyday. Closer to the beach and fiance's parents but SUPER expensive to live there. I would also really love to have a vacation home in WI near my family.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 27 weeks, lettuce (how is that much bigger than kale?)
2. Appointments this week? None thankfully
3. How are you feeling this week? Pretty good considering how I've been this pregnancy. Protonix is a life saver. Insomnia still kicks my butt but my pelvis is at least letting me walk again.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions found out my MIL did ask my mom about a shower and my mom's response was "maybe closer" uh, how close do you want to get and are you not planning anything cause people need a heads up. 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? good question. My dream home is a Cape style home with the covered porch but also a garage. I room for myself in it, plenty of storage and an open kitchen where all my stuff fits I do not live there now.
@MKMandeville how exciting to be at the third trimester finally!!
seems like fatigue is really starting to ramp up for lots of ladies
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 25 weeks today. A baseball glove or cauliflower
2. Appointments this week? Saturday we have a make up at the boutique ultrasound we took my parents too. They couldn't get any good 3D pictures so they are having us come back for free to try again
3. How are you feeling this week? heartburn is on full swing and evening bloating that reminds me of the first trimester
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
rave: I go in vacation Sunday!! And they finally poured the cement for our pool yesterday
rant: the 5pm bloating is so uncomfortable
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? I would love a 1920s craftsman with a big front porch back in victoria BC where H is from. Probably farthest from it. We live in a new build in phoenix az and while it's nice, we don't want to be here forever. We are atleast finally landscaping the backyard and putting in a pool to make it much more tolerabke

Sleeplessness has begun, so I feel exhausted. Heartburn, rlp, leg cramps, really painful gas, and BH 4. Rants/Raves/Questions Third trimester, yay! And beach this weekend, double yay! Failed my 1 hour glucose test, boo, so 3 hour next week. 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now?I love the 20s bungalows common in this part of Florida. Big front porch, lots of Windows to take advantage of the breeze, honey but tropical. Thing I would change is I want it on acerage, please. Instead we live in a 1960s brick house, with a wood paneled sunroom (still trying to figure out how H's grandma thought that worked) with no backyard thanks to the garage and pool. It's not a bad house but not a dream either.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 27w3d. Lettuce. I think I'm 7 months now?! That kind of scares me.
2. Appointments this week? I had my last monthly appointment on Tuesday and have been scheduled for 2 weeks away next time. I did the one-hour glucose test, which I'm still anxiously awaiting the results of. I told the OB I was worried about being induced before my due date (which apparently they do for anyone over 40 or close to it - I'm 39) and she agreed to not worry about me delivering until later into week 40, as long as I start coming in for 2x a week checks at 39 weeks. This makes me feel so much better. I was dreading an induction and nearly inevitable c-section and at that point would rather just go to a scheduled c-section, although I really really want to try to deliver naturally. I also really want the baby to be ready to be born and to go into labor on my own.
3. How are you feeling this week? Meh, belly is feeling awkward and stretchy and belly button is really sensitive. I'm tired too. But otherwise I'm fine, honestly.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions - When do BH start? I was super crampy on Sunday and I was wondering if that could be it. I asked my OB about the cramps and she was worried at first but said it was OK because they resolved with rest, but she didn't mention BH and I didn't think to ask. I didn't have any with DD. 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? I'm in close to my dream home - if it were fixed up and not constantly in a state of construction. I live in a sidewalked, green lawn neighborhood in a suburb of Boston, which is basically all I need in life since I love New England, but I REALLY REALLY would like a living room that was not just a room with unfinished walls, old furniture, a TV, and random moving boxes. We can't have people over until this is done - and it has been 2 years since we bought the place. My house is also highly ugly with a hideous bright blue that it was painted - I cannot wait to paint it and add shutters but that's a $10K+ job and then it will actually look pretty as it should. But, it's a big enough house with a big yard in the area we wanted, and we could afford it in this insane housing market. Long story, sorry.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 29 weeks today
2. Appointments this week? Not this week. Glucose last week & passed yay! 3. How are you feeling this week? Good! Heartburn here and there nothing major. My outer labia is very painful right now! (Tmi lol) very sore to walk.. wierd symptom
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
Rant:. MIL wants to do shower weekend after baby is born... Uhh no. Lol "so everyone can hold and meet the baby!" No way, Jose! I'll be busy and overwhelmed enough and keeping germs away lol. So she scheduled it for when I'm 38 weeks. Thanks, hopefully I won't give birth by then ugh.
Rave: 11 more weeks!! Feeling so real this week and lil man is so active. And happy to not have to deal with GD!
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? Dream house is a pretty two story farm house with a big wrap around porch where I can rock with my husband and kids Not there yet but happy to have a nice first home that we bought last year
I had a shower after DD was born, although I had had a more "official" one earlier on. It was kind of fun because it got me out of the house and people got to meet her. I wouldn't have wanted it to be my only shower though, because I needed to set stuff up before she arrived, not after.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 25 weeks today- cauliflower
2. Appointments this week? No
3. How are you feeling this week? same. Insomnia, general discomfort with a growing belly, getting tougher to lean over, always hungry but nothing satisfies
4. Rants/Raves/Questions rant. We are on a mini 3-day vacation in northern MN and it's been rainy and 65 since we practically arived. Fortunately there's plenty for DD to do but I can't participate - she goes from the indoor water slides to the "warm" tub. Her and DH are having a blast though while i sit on the sidelines.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? so many great ideas from you ladies. I would say a 2-story cape or colonial with an open main floor, nice patio/deck for entertaining in a semi urban/suburban location. We don't live there now. We just bought a home in the right location but not my favorite style of home (walk out rambler). We have a lot of work to do to make me love it.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 26 weeks - size of kale
2. Appointments this week? Yes. Had glucose and blood work, ultrasound, and reg OB appointment. Found out I have an autoimmune issue that can happen during pregnancy and will need to have blood tests every two weeks to monitor. If it gets worse, may need steroids to treat. Good news is that baby looked good on ultrasound. She had her hand up close to her mouth like she was going to suck her thumb. Ultrasound tech said she was "so cute" lol.
3. How are you feeling this week? heartburn wakes me up and then I can't get back to sleep. If I take a Zantac before bed, it helps but I don't like to take meds too often.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions Rave: BFF was in town this week so it was great to spend a little time with her. 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now?
Dream home is an older home near a lake or some sort of beautiful scenery that HGTV comes and renovates. Definitely don't live there now, but I like our home and it is perfect for us right now.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 26 weeks today; kale.
2. Appointments this week? Nope.
3. How are you feeling this week? So lousy. I have a cold (in August? what?) and I'm not comfortable taking any medications unless absolutely essential, so I'm congested and miserable and can't sleep.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions On the positive side... I started swimming lessons today and am pretty excited about it! It was challenging, but so much more comfortable on the belly than the cardio I had been doing.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? I like the community we live in now, but this is definitely not my dream home. We're currently renting a small townhouse just outside a major city. We can't decide where we want to put our roots down, but it's not here. Our dream house is on a nice little spread of land, but with neighbors within walking distance. Two stories, but not ginormous / no wasted space. Definitely want a porch or deck and a nice kitchen. I love Craftsman style homes, but I think the style we end up with will depend on the area we choose.
@jka427I don't know the slang, but if "bbs" means breasts/nipples, then yes, mine are sometimes leaky! I think it started around 22 weeks. It hasn't been bad enough that I've needed to use pads, luckily. So strange, right?!
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 27w today; lettuce 2. Appointments this week? I had the 1 hour glucose test on Tuesday and failed it. I go back next Thursday for the 3 hour. 3. How are you feeling this week? Exhausted! I've been working in my classroom or going to inservice sessions all week, but this getting up early has been really hard on me. 4. Rants/Raves/Questions Finally have to break down and buy some maternity pants. My pre-pregnancy jeans just aren't working anymore, so I'm pretty sure my dress pants won't work either! 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? My dream home would have a huge kitchen, on maybe 3 acres with tons of trees. I like many styles of houses, so I'm not 100% sure what my dream home style would be. I know I'm not real big on the super modern looking homes. I prefer a more classic look, like craftsman or a ranch style. I just want a big yard. DH is going to school for horticulture, so he is big into gardening and planting trees. We currently live in the opposite situation. It's in a "cookie cutter" neighborhood with a microscopic yard, but having lots of families with young kiddos will be great once LO arrives! Plus, it's in a great school district and they built a brand new elementary school in our neighborhood.
1. How far along are you? And how big is baby? 26 weeks
2. Appointments this week? Had my appt last Tuesday. Got my script for the glucose test and I'm now up to visits every 2 weeks. I have to get the Rohgam shot at my 28 weeks appt. ugh .. I hate that shot!
3. How are you feeling this week? pregnancy wise I'm feeling fine. Kicks and movement are stepping up! I was sick last week with a nasty sinus infection but I'm feeling better now.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions I don't think I have anything this week. 5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? Our house itself is the base to my dream house. We just have to add our own personal style to the house. If we could pick up the house and move it to a big plot of land with an in ground pool it would be perfect.
@DungeonTrollMel I've been living in elastic waistband or drawstring pants all summer, and I'm carrying low and not showing much until now. The few times I've worn jeans, I've done the rubber band around the button trick.

Nope. I am looking forward to a week off.
3. How are you feeling this week?
Sleeplessness has begun, so I feel exhausted. Heartburn, rlp, leg cramps, really painful gas, and BH
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
Third trimester, yay! And beach this weekend, double yay!
Failed my 1 hour glucose test, boo, so 3 hour next week.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now? I love the 20s bungalows common in this part of Florida.

2. Appointments this week? No
3. How are you feeling this week?
same. Insomnia, general discomfort with a growing belly, getting tougher to lean over, always hungry but nothing satisfies
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
rant.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
Rave: BFF was in town this week so it was great to spend a little time with her.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now?
27w today; lettuce
2. Appointments this week?
I had the 1 hour glucose test on Tuesday and failed it.
3. How are you feeling this week?
Exhausted! I've been working in my classroom or going to inservice sessions all week, but this getting up early has been really hard on me.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions
Finally have to break down and buy some maternity pants.

4. Rants/Raves/Questions
I don't think I have anything this week.
5. GTKY: what is your dream home? Do you live there now?
Our house itself is the base to my dream house. We just have to add our own personal style to the house. If we could pick up the house and move it to a big plot of land with an in ground pool it would be perfect.
