TTC After a Loss

Intro & TTC after chemical

TW for loss & other child

Hi everyone

Sad, but hopeful to join this board. We are TTC #2. I am 35 and my husband is 34. We have a 3 yr old who was an easy conception & relatively uncomplicated pregnancy. Delivery was another story! We live in Chicago and I work as a special ed administrator & my husband is in consulting.

I am on day 3 of an assumed chemical. My dr said there's no way of knowing if my hpt was a false positive or a chemical, since it turned negative within a couple days. My blood was drawn this morning and my hcg was 1.8 and progesterone was 0.14. I got a faint positive hpt at 13 dpo and started to bleed 16 dpo w/a negative hpt.

At first my dr said to wait a cycle, but then at the end of the convo she said it was ok to try again this month (because of my work schedule). For those who had a chemical, did you try right away & what was your success rate?

Thank you for your help!

Re: Intro & TTC after chemical

  • Sorry you are here!  I had a CP at 5 weeks and was told I could go ahead and TTC again but I decided to wait a month because of well emotions and somewhat depression about it.  We started the 2nd month after.

  • I just had a chemical as well. Not waiting but def worried about another one.
  • I was told it was fine to try again right away after both of my CPs. (I had to wait at least 1 cycle after my later MCs). Unfortunately, there is no success story here... I've had 4 MC and no live births.

    MC #1: D&C Oct 23, 2015 (7.5 weeks)
    MC #2: July 1, 2016 (5.5 weeks)
    MC #3: October 17, 2016 (CP)
    RE #1: RPL testing November 2016-January 2017
    MC #4: Feb. 28, 2017 (CP)
    RE #2: Additional RPL testing March-November 2017
    MC #5: January 2019 (6.5 weeks)

    RE #3: More testing 2023.
Egg Retrieval Sept/Oct 2023, 2 good embryos after PGT-A testing.
    Surgery for endometriosis January 2024
Lupron Depo March 2024.  Benched 3 months.

    FET #1: June 3, 2024 (failed)

Lupron Depo June 2024. Benched 3 months again before next FET.

    FET #2: September 2024 (failed)

  • Yep, told to try again as soon as I wanted....further research was baffling that the amount of CPs is so high!  I guess with all these super sensitive tests we just know quicker....double edged sword I guess. SO so sorry you are here with us, but welcome.
  • You can try as soon as you are ready after a CP. Sorry for your loss
