Teacher appreciation

So this is really random and not baby related but my son is ending his preschool class next week and I'd like to give the teachers a small token of appreciation on his behalf.any ideas on what I could get them? There are a total of 3 teachers there and they have all been so wonderful with him. I was thinking bottle of nice wine but I have no clue if they like wine. Tumblers and coffee cups are so cliche. What else?

Re: Teacher appreciation

  • @ShePersisted Last year, a student's mom gave me a picture frame with a picture of me and the student together, and I have it proudly displayed in my room. You could find frames at a dollar store.
I've also gotten little trinket holders, and those work well for paper clips, etc.
I know it's not much, but hope it helps. If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.  :)
  • I loved when parents got me small gift cards like to Dunkin Donuts or something and maybe a picture of him or a craft that he can make for them to keep as a keepsake.

  • Pintrest might have some ideas...
  • Go with a small gift card!  Those are always much appreciated. Starbucks or Target...

  • As someone who doesn't drink coffee, I give away the Starbucks gift cards. I think Amazon and Visa gift cards are awesome because they can be used for a lot of things with many vendors. I told my students that I always appreciate the gifts they give me, but to be honest, I don't have room in my house for any more stuff! Even things like lotion and candles go to my other family members. This year I showed them my Amazon wishlist for the class, which had books and games all saved up and told them how I would write names of students who donated towards them on the items. They were so excited and I got a bunch of Amazon / Barnes & Noble ones.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • Great ideas ladies. Thank you so much.
  • I always give gift cards - usually target (because let's face it - who doesn't love Target?!) or to coffee shops nearby the school (if I've seen them drink coffee). I think I've also done gift cards to the spa near the school.
  • Anything, even a card is nice. I have taught both as a "specials" (art, music, library, etc) in elementary and middle school and as a classroom teacher in middle school and most parents and students don't bother to do anything. So the ones who do say or do something really mean a lot to me. I have had parents tell me they appreciate my efforts or students say they miss me and those things mean the world. I keep all the notes for rough days. Last semester I had an interim position and one of my students wrote me a letter of recommendation when I said I was interviewing and it made my year.
