Hi! Thanks for your reply. I just looked at Martha video, and it doea look super simple. Just a few questions..
.Did you do a trial run?
Do you need also the special Ateco tips?
DO you have any tips for the face? I'm a little nervous about making a perfect oval, free hand.
Re: **CMCMILLAN**
I was super nervous about it as I normally do cupcakes for everything so I suck at frosting whole cakes. It was so easy. I didn't do a trial run. I baked it in a pyrex mixing bowl I think it was 2.5 qt., smaller then what she recommends but it was either that or a lot bigger. I made it the Thursday night (used yellow cake mix), wrapped it in seran wrap, put in tupperware and froze. The next afternoon I made up hershey's chocoalte frosting (or you can use store bought), frosted the cake and attached the ears. Put back in the fridge for about an hour for it to set then did the yellow details. I left it in the fridge overnight and it was great!
Did you buy the Martha Stewart monkey kit? I made chocolate cupcakes to go with the cake. I cut up the cake for the kids, and adults had cupcakes.
Here is a link to our shutterfly account if you want to see more pics.. I also have a bag of leftover decorations if you want, where are you located?

What else did you serve(other than cake and cupcakes)? I'll have 6 kids (age range 9 months to 2.5yrs) and 6 adults. Did you serve a "monkey" beverage? I think I'm just serving a tropical punch and call it "monkey punch":)
Yes, I'm planning on getting the MS party kit for 8. I live in North Tacoma. I would love to have your leftovers if you live in the area.
I forgot to mention I didn't use the recommended tips. I have a cupcake decorating kit with tips and I used that. YOu can just fill a ziploc gallon bag with the frosting and cut the corner off, it isn't a lot of precise details so it should work fine.
We served 3 different kids of croissant sandwiches, fruit salad (apples, blueberries and strawberries) and a bowl of chips. Our party was from 11-1. I bought the frozen dole 100% orange, pineapple, banana juice and called it monkey juice.
If you want to email me your address I can throw my leftovers into a padded envelope and mail it, I am up in Marysville. If not I will pass it on to someone else. canddprice @ comcast.net
