  • How far along are you? How big are the babies? Singleton this time is 21w4d currently!

Any appointments this week/last? I had an OB appt last week and I mentioned the cervix length. I have a follow up trans vaginal ultrasound scheduled for Friday. I'm really anxious to know what my measurements end up being. Hoping above a 3!

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current? Past show is Friends. All time fav! Current I enjoy Greys Anatomy and Nashville. Guilty pleasure is the Bachelor franchise and I must say I'm looking forward to Bachelor In Paradise.

What rants/raves/questions/advice?  My doc keeps asking if I want to do a vbac or a scheduled c section and I really don't know what I want to do...I'm leaning towards a repeat c section so I know what to expect.

  • @tmk0325 That would be a hard decision. With the twins, I kind of would rather have a CS because I'd hate to have one vaginally and end up needing an emergency CS for the other. I've had plenty of surgeries from having endometriosis so for some reason, I feel more comfortable with that.

How far along are you? How big are the babies?
21 + 3, the size of endives (whatever the heck that is)

    Any appointments this week/last?
I have a repeat anatomy scan on Thursday.

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current?
Past: The Cosby Show or A Different World. Current: Game of Thrones, Power and Queen Sugar.

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Rant: I can't stop craving sweets. It was apple pie with ice cream and I just bought a small birthday cake and ice cream just for me LOL. I had such high hopes for eating healthy. Also, I have been super tired today. Sorry, no raves, questions or advice today.
  • How far along are you? How big are the babies?

Exactly 20 weeks today, but measuring nearly a week ahead.

    Any appointments this week/last?

Cervix check today. Looking good, fingers crossed.

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current?

I can't pick just one! Love Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Northern Exposure, and the brief run of Outsourced. Currently watching The Amazing Johnsons on Netflix. Totally soapy and cheesy, but addictive. Excellent escapism.

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Not a rant, more of a whine-
My breasts huuuuurt. Ow ow ow. It's been 5 months of hurtiness. Hopefully this means I'll have some milk for the girls when they showed up. I struggled with bf-ing with my son, and the thought of going through that with two babies is daunting.

Raves- Migrastick is saving my butt tonight. I've had headaches and hate taking anything while pg, but the smell of the Migrastick plus Tylenol seems to have headed off most of the pain.

Questions- starting to worry about C sections. Google says it's possible. But based on what I've seen, it looks like a Section is typical in twin pregnancies in my area, period. I managed to avoid a C with my son, and was hoping to beat the odds this time around. What are you ladies thinking?

Advice- If you're looking for bargains on twin gear, join your local twin group on Facebook! Lots of great info and support, plus active sale/swap listings. I'm now the proud owner of a really nice Phil and Ted's double jogger, a rolling base to snap on two car seats, a twin Z pillow, and a My BF twin pillow which both came with extra covers. All second hand, great condition, fraction of the price I'd have paid for new.
  • @tmk0325 @clovelyone @jennasaisquoi Since all three of you brought up C-sections... I'm planning to request one. I know it's common to need them anyway with twins and as @clovelyone mentioned, I want to avoid trying vaginally and then needing an emergency CS for the second one. That happened to my colleague who just had twins this past winter and the thing about emergency CS is that they have to put you under. I 100% want to be awake and alert when both my babies are born. Plus, the idea of having to recover from both a vaginal labor AND a CS sounds particularly unpleasant to me. I'm planning to discuss this with my OB at my appointment this Friday, so I'll let you all know if he gives me any further input.

How far along are you? How big are the babies?
20+4, bananas/axolotls (which I totally had to google)

    Any appointments this week/last?
Seeing my OB this Friday afternoon. Hoping he'll still do a quick US even though I had the anatomy scan a couple of weeks ago.

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current?
Past - this is so hard... I think Six Feet Under and Breaking Bad, but I feel like I'm forgetting one or two
Current (though currently between seasons) - The Handmaid's Tale... hard to watch, but soooo good!

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Rave: My husband informed me that he's going to be busy every Friday afternoon until 6 pm until the babies arrive. He won't tell me why, just that it's a surprise for me. I have no idea what he's doing, but I just think it's sweet that he's putting so much time into whatever it is!
  • How far along are you? How big are the babies? 20+2 singleton ummm I think a soda can

Any appointments this week/last? I had my MW appointment and anatomy scan on monday and all looked good. My placenta is anterior this time which is part of why I'm not feeling nearly as much as I did with the twins at this stage

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current? ohh you guys have already listed so many good ones... the cosby show, the first few seasons of grey's, going real old school I loved full house. Current shows: NCIS, big bang theory, call the midwife. (well really just about anything on PBS/BBC)

What rants/raves/questions/advice?  Things are good right now so not much to complain about. I'm back in the happy I love pregnancy phase!

@tmk0325 fx for your scan on friday. I am hoping for a VBAC, but I really wanted a vaginal delivery with the twins, so this is a whole new world!
@clovelyone GL with your repeat anatomy scan tomorrow. The sweet cravings are strong here... I'm trying not to give in but not always successful. I saw a TV show with a character eating skittles and I wanted them, then someone else was eating a pop tart and I wanted that... damn this baby is susceptible to product placement!
@jennasaisquoi  I would have some frank discussions with your Doc about what you want. Its important to know what they are comfortable with. My MFM was game to try a vaginal delivery with my twins and at 36 weeks it looked like that was what was going to happen. then at 37 weeks baby B who was measuring larger flipped back to breech. We had several long discussions about the pros and cons of a vaginal delivery, attempts for a version and delivery when baby B is larger. Though it was not really what I wanted in the end we scheduled a C-section for the next day. ( i just wanted healthy babies). At the time of surgery baby B was transverse breech with her back down so I would have had a double whammy if we had tried a vaginal. Now I know of several twin moms who have had successful vaginal deliveries.  so talk to your doc, talk about your risk factors, is there a chance another doctor would be doing your delivery? etc.

  • @leilagphillips I totally forgot about Six Feet Under! It's hard to choose just one or two shows.

    Thanks, ladies!
  • How far along are you? How big are the babies? 21+3 with boy/girl twins. They are also endive size.

Any appointments this week/last? Appt yesterday was quick and painless. Got to see a quick ultrasound to check on heart rates as the nurse wasn't successful with the doppler. They were moving so much I'm not surprised that she couldn't get the hearts. Cervix check was good. We had a discussion about birth classes. She recommended that we put our time more towards the breastfeeding/infant care/surviving twins/ classes since birthing with twins is so often out of our hands with their positioning. We did nail down which hospital we would give birth in.  The MFM doctor strongly recommends I not go past 37 weeks.

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current? I'm a firefly fan. Sadness that it was only the single season. Currently we don't have cable as we've trimmed the budget to help cushion the finances. : )

What rants/raves/questions/advice?  I've currently got a 2 oz difference in the babies sizes. So I'm a bit concerned there. My next appt is the 24th with the MFM and they will do another growth scan. Viability is just around the corner ladies, I'll feel pretty good once I'm passed about 25 weeks. DH says he'll feel better at 32 weeks. We are so excited to meet them.

I'm going to a big Just between Friends sale over Labor Day weekend. Hoping to score some cheaper baby stuff!

  • @stella_700 I wouldn't worry too much about a 2oz difference. At this point that is less than 10%. they don't worry really untill your talking 15-20 or more % difference. also its not uncommon for one twin to lag behind a little one month than have a growth spurt and catch up or surpass the other. It happened to me.  Ohhh I forgot about firefly... that was a good show! oh and I loved "my so called life" another one season wonder.

@leilagphillips thats sweet of your DH. I can't wait to hear what the surprise is.

  • @tmk0325 Heres hoping your cervix is on track dude!  And I seriously cannot wait for Bachelor in Paradise to come back!!!!
@clovelyone Haha a whole cake!  Yes!  I've got to take a page out of your book!
@jennasaisquoi For the csection, with twins, it's a 50% chance that you'll have one. I'm personally just going with the thought that I'll have to have one, and I'm ok with that. It really depends on how the littles are positioned, but talk it over with your doctor.
@leilagphillips omg I wonder what the surprise is??!!
@wabash15 Im so glad you're in the happy I love pregnancy phase!  That one comes and goes with me lol. I'm watching Call the Midwife right now, as a matter of fact. I'm on the almost season now :)
@stella_700 Gkad your Appt went well!  Keep it up, lady!

How far along are you? How big are the babies?
19+4, babies are the size of MANGOS!

    Any appointments this week/last?
I had an obgyn Appt this Monday. My weight is right on track and I'm measuring 7 weeks ahead (if I had a singleton). I've got my 20 week anatomy scan next Wednesday, where they'll try to get some better pics of the littles hearts.

GTKY: Favorite tv show- past and current?
Past: Beverly Hills 90210 DUH, The Sopranos, The Wire, The Office. And anything from the early days of The WB - Felicity, Roswell (be still my heart Max Evans). I love cheesy stuff. LOST is the greatest tv show of all time, though.
Current: Game of Thrones DDDDUUUHHHHH!  All Real Housewives, really anything on Bravo, Outlander, and Property Brothers.

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Ive been feeling baby b move A LOT at night when I'm lying down. It's creepy but cool :)
My husband has started doing the cutest thing ever; talking to the babies in the morning and at night. It melts me to my core every time. Ugh. Plus I get a belly rub while he does it, so that's a win!
My upcoming move and remodel are just really going to send me into a panic, but I have to just let go and relax, and let my husband handle everything. I just have to breathe and relax. Breathe and relax.
    No questions today!
  • @breezybee I loved 90210 too! There are way too many good shows to pick one. I also love when my SO talks to the babies. He's pretty much been doing that since day 1 and I love massages or being rubbed so he rubs my belly too. Bless both of our SOs' hearts LOL.
