  • @mrsrep123 Yay! I'm glad Rowan likes it.
  • @mcvgal She is super cute. I think after 10 minutes, Rowan was getting pretty tired because he was no longer correcting his body to maintain alignment. He kept leaning to one side and then, eventually, forward. That's when I knew it was time to get out. But he seemed to enjoy the independence (and no extra body heat) while getting to enjoy his environment!

Glad her PT appointment was a success!

  • I also bought the sit me up thanks to the suggestions here, it arrived yesterday so we haven't put her in it. I'm excited to try it out though.

Dd was doing so well sleeping in her bassinet at night for 8 hours and for some reason we took a step back and she's waking up every four hours. I'm back to sleeping on the couch again. She's 12 weeks today. I know we'll eventually get back to sleeping longer but I miss my bed.
  • @Kateriee DD took at step back at 12 weeks adjusted age. Luckily it only lasted about a week and then she went back to STTN. I hope that ends up being the case for your DD as well.

  • Team sit me up seat here too!
Sorry I've been MIA lately but I've been lurking.
3 weeks left of my maternity leave and I'm dreading going back to work. I wish we had the luxury of me being able to stay home.

I'm still swaddling for naps and she's still in the halo sleep sack arms in for bed. I know I need to transition her out of that but I don't want to because she sleeps so well lol any recommendations? One arm at a time? Every other day?
  • I've also been a little mia these past few days. We went on a little trip and I didn't get any cell service. My LO hates the car, he cried and screamed... It was terrible. He was crying so hard I thought he was going to choke. We had to pull over multiple times . I tried everything but he just wanted to be held. We are home now and I don't want to get back in the car for a long time....

@Jens_Hoes I don't think you need to transition her out of a swaddle yet, you can wait until she can roll over if you want. People do one arm out for a couple days there's also a zippidy zip sack that has their arms in but there's more room that may help the transition. Also a 50/50 dream up swaddle or something. I waited until 6 months to get my ds out of the swaddle and I used the magic Merlin sleep suit and it didn't really work for me, not sure if it was his age or the suit. I don't recommend waiting that long but my baby just loved the swaddle.
  • @Jens_Hoes we use the ergococoon which has snaps at the shoulders, so when I'm ready (which won't be awhile yet as he's only rolling front to back occasionally and not even thinking about the other way) I can just unsnap the shoulders ether together or one at a time to turn it into a sleep sack

  • DD has been moving around/spinning when doing floor play, but not much movement in the crib when she sleeps at night. This morning she woke up in a completely different spot. Instead of in the center of the crib, she woke up closer towards the edge and her body perpendicular to her normal spot.

  • We haven't swaddled our LO since she was six weeks. She hated it. She likes to stretch out and she doesn't jerk herself awake. Is that normal for some babies to hate the swaddle?
  • @Kateriee I remember in my old BMB there were a lot of babies that did not like to be swaddled. At least now you don't have to worry about transitioning out of a swaddle.

  • @kateriee neither of my boys liked to be swaddled. @mcvgal both of my boys move/d around in the crib. I had to put the mesh lining on the crib from the get.

  • @Kateriee DS isn't a big swaddle fan either, he likes his arms to be free so we pretty much don't swaddle at this point and he sleeps very soundly
  • @lrwardrop how terrible! I wouldn't want to get back in the car for awhile either.  :/ Did you at least have fun at the destination?

  • Not to put a damper on things, but my step mom passed away on Saturday and tonight was the vigil. A slide show was prepared and lots of pictures of her and my dad were shown. I wasn't expecting that and a whole bunch of emotions came pouring out (my dad passed away 11 years ago). My sister felt the same way. I just looked at my two boys and wished they would've been able to have known him. They didn't even get to meet her...  :'(

  • @mrsrep123 I'm so sorry for your loss. Grief can hit you in such unexpected ways. T&P to you and your family.
  • @mrsrep123 sorry for your loss. :/:/

Unfortunately I didn't have too much fun at our destination. LO wanted to be held the entire trip and cried a ton. Ds1 had fun though, so that's what's important.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. How terrible!
  • @mrsrep123 I'm so sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

  • @mrsrep123 so sorry for your loss. That must be so hard.

Glad everyone here is also in the sit me up fan club. My Claire loves it.

Were headed out of town for the weekend for the first time. I'm a little embarrassed at how much of our house is packed into the car. Hah!
  • Thanks for the condolences ladies. Today was the funeral, and although it was sad, it was nice to be around family. It was the first time many of them were meeting DS1 so it was super cool (and surprising to them) to meet DS2 (since many didn't even know I was pregnant again).

@lrwardrop at least somebody enjoyed the trip!  ;)

@ShadeofGreen816 I'm the same way when it comes to packing... so you can only imagine packing for two LOs... smh... lol.

  • Moms are amazing! With the crazy week we just had, my mom came over today and I was able to get my house in order. Laundry, done. Grocery shopping, done. Dinner, done. Bottles and dishes, done. Amazon boxes broken down and recycled, done. Amazon returns, done. Lol. Kiddos happy and off to bed, half way done (the toddler is still fighting his sleep). Whew! Thanks mom!
