Thurs is my first u/s. Also very nervous! I will be 10 weeks. My very first appt was last week and I was super disappointed that they couldn't do u/s that day. I have Not been having any pregnancy symptoms so trying not to worry but it's hard not to.
Thursday is my first official OB appointment. I'll have an ultrasound and blood work. Question? I had a genetic screen done with my first about 2 years ago. Has anyone had it redrawn with their second? The secretary mentioned it being part of the labs and am going to discuss it with my OB, but I'm mainly curious if anyone has had it done twice. I also had my blood type screened and see no need for a repeat on that unless I am misinformed.
ETA The genetic screen was for me to see if I was a carrier for any genetic disorders, I was negative for all I was tested for.
My first appt was this morning. Just an update of my medical history and a dating ultrasound (pic in ultrasound thread). Confirmed my suspicions of early ovulation as Baby is measuring 1 week ahead, so my due date was moved to 3/9 (previously thought it was 3/17). Got my script refilled for zofran as well since this baby is kicking my butt with nausea. Next appt is 9/5 for all my blood work and physical. But I do have another ultrasound next Monday, I signed up to be an ultrasound "model" at a local hospital for training purposes.
Had my first appointment but it was just bloodwork. We already went to a boutique And heard a healthy heartbeat. My ultrasound at the dr isn't till 12 weeks/on September 1st.
Had our first appointment today! I have no idea when I ovulated(background.. multiple months of fertility meds, about to start injections, but conceived on one of our no meds, no monitoring months:)), but thought it was pretty late. I measured 6w6d with due date of March 27. This is a few days behind what I thought but I'm not too worried about it as I know it can differ. Heart rate of 141 and they said he/she was moving around a lot! We're so excited!
@Gingermom15 FTM but also a carrier for a rare disease so have looked into carrier stuff a bit... it is physically impossible to not be a carrier 2 years ago and then be one now. Unless you have a reason to question the accuracy of the last test OR they are screening for additional mutations you could skip it.
I have my second (9w) ultrasound Wednesday. Very nervous! But excited too. I hope they're both still OK. I have no reason to worry other than statistics etc., but you know, it's all always nerve wrecking.
My first ultrasound is tomorrow and I am so nervous. *TW* The last time, in January, I found out I had a blighted ovum. I am hoping for much better news this time!

My OB did not order the genetic screens again for me (though we still did a bunch of other blood work - like 6 vials) since I tested not a carrier 4 years ago.
I have my third appointment on Wednesday (9w5d) to go over my blood sugar numbers to make sure she is ok with what they are at or if I need to go on insulin.
I have one appt aug 28 for my nuchal, sept 1 for my monthly scan, then October 18 for level 2 anatomy scan. And I'm sure I'll have another monthly visit around the end of September or beginning of October. I can't believe how busy it gets! I start my last semester of nursing school so it's hectic! But hopefully second trimester goes fast! By the time I'm in my third I'll have my RN!
First ultrasound on Thursday! I will be 8 weeks, 6 days. I am so excited and happier than ever that I was able to get my appointment moved up! Two more days.
blood tests today .... always difficult as I have deep veins.
first us on Saturday- but I'm not getting my hopes up. it's with a tech so I'm not sure if they will let me see. I follow up with my OB next Tuesday for results. I'm hoping they will let me peek... but I'm not banking on it

First appointment is on Thursday! I remember with my last pregnancy the first appointment was really like a confirmation oh yet your pregnant and lets talk about what to do and not do. I REALLY hope I get to at least hear a heart beat...that is kind of all I want at this point...I am always worried in the beginning. I am going to see if they can do a dopplar or something that can hear it at this stage...I am only 7w4d
I have a follow up on Thursday. I'll be 7w4d. Two weeks ago when I had my first appointment, they couldn't find the heartbeat bc they thought I wasn't as far along. I'm anxiously awaiting this Thursday to ease my mind!
I just posted in the multiples check in but will post here too. Had our 3rd ultrasound this morning (7w1d)...still 3 babies, 3 strong heartbeats, and they are all measuring almost a week ahead. Omg. Still in shock and completely terrified, but happy and in awe that I have THREE babies inside of me.
Just had my first appointment today at 11 weeks. They gave me a prescription for a dating ultrasound since I went to 42 weeks last time and they want to make sure it's right so they're not pressuring an induction early without knowing, so I'm trying to decide if I want to do that. Heard the heartbeat for the couple seconds that she could find it.
My appointment today went well- doctor said my blood sugar numbers look great and she would see me in 2 weeks. My kids (8 and 4) had to go with me and we all got to see baby again- it was moving all over. She did decide that she wants me to go to an ultrasound specialist just to make sure all is well between my GD and age(34).
...it's just so different from how I feel. Waiting for my first one was agony. Why would you not want to get the ultrasound? If someone's offering one, as long as they're a real medical professional, I'll take it!
But really, unless you are 100% certain of ovulation date, I'd go ahead and go for it for the reason the doctor said. You don't want to get down to discussing induction and be unsure about if it's really time for that or if you should give your body more time to go on its own.

@ABombard12 this exact thing happened to me last week! So disappointing! So here I am waiting for my ultrasound which is today, finally! And I was 8+ weeks when I went the first time.
@Gingham congratulations! That is super exciting! I'm sure there'll be many people to jump in and help!
Update: I had my ultrasound on Tuesday and they found a heart beat!!! I am so relieved!!! And I was measuring at 6w3d, which matched my edd. Thank you ladies for wishing me luck

@kiki75 Haha, no I totally get it. With my first I totally would have been all about it, this time it's just like "eh another appointment...?" I mean, I'm excited about the baby, but not about having to leave my house at this point. Also...money...ugh. It's not THAT much, but still enough of a co-pay to make me think twice before going in.
I did decide to pass on it. I mean, my midwife and I did talk about the date and she went through my chart with me. I was pretty spot on, and took multiple tests that were negative before one came up positive, so I know the exact date that the first positive came, the exact date I ovulated, and the exact date we had sex. I know an ultrasound would confirm it but we both felt pretty confident after the appointment so it was more of a to set your mind at ease kinda thing.
I do know about the induction fear though. DS was born at 42 weeks, went into active labor 12 hours before my induction was scheduled and he was born 3 hours before I was supposed to report to the hospital. But when he came out he had all the signs of a late baby so we were pretty certain my dates were correct with him as well.
Had my follow up appointment and got to finally hear baby's heartbeat! Definitely made it feel more legit. I'm measuring 7w4d and I can wait to tell our daughters tonight!
Finally got to see my little nugget yesterday! And hear the heartbeat! And I totally agree @lgutu28 it definitely does make it seem more legit! So crazy to see little nugget dancing around so much and not be able to feel a thing. I'm measuring 11 weeks which puts me around March 2!
Just finished my first OB appointment.... and she was able to find the find the heart beat with the Doppler!! I'm 10+2 and really wasn't expecting her to even try... I'm so happy and relieved I'm disappointed that DH wasn't there to hear it as well, I told him not to come since I was sure it was just paperwork and questionnaire today. We have a dating ultrasound next week. Phew! So happy!
