Just wanted to put this question out there in case anyone has some insight.  My little one is 6 weeks old, EBF.  She has recently been spitting up quite a bit of milk after every feeding.  When she has to poop, she pukes.  When she has gas (all the time) she pukes.  Sometimes she spits up even when she doesn't have gas.  She has been gaining weight so far and plenty of poopy diapers so I guess she is fine, but it just concerns me to see so much come back up.  I have put the question to my doctor's office email so I'll see what they say but anyone else dealing with this?

I've not dealt with this specifically, it doesn't sound fun for mama and I hope you can resolve it for your little girl soon (though it does seem good that she's eating, gaining, and pooping!) but just in case it helps, Mylicon has worked great for my LO's gas and ultimately we figured out she has reflux and the dr prescribed meds for that which have also worked great. Does she arch her back in pain? Apparently that's a sign of reflux.

I have wondered about reflux.  She does arch her back sometimes but not often.

I feel for you, my LO has had reflux issues, too! If she's gaining weight and doesn't seem to be uncomfortable then it's okay. Also, the amount she spits up looks like a ton, but it isn't really that much. At this point, keep doing all the things you can to prevent reflux like burping periodically during feedings and afterwards, keeping her upright or at an incline for 30-60 minutes post feeding, and try not to tossle her around after feedings. For gas, I give my LO simethicone drops and they seem to be helping when the gas gets bad. You can also look up baby yoga for gas; the passive stretching really helps! Unfortunately, 6 weeks is right during the timeframe when babies experience colic, so it should pass, just give it time.

Thanks for the feedback!  She seems to be doing a little better now.  I think I had some oversupply issues and aggressive letdown that are resolving.  I've had some success with feeding on one side for several hours before switching sides.

Same here, because of all of the awkward gulps, I guess LO was taking in air and getting fussy from the resultant gas. That's why burping during feedings is a good idea, too. In any case, I'm glad you got to the bottom of what was going on!
