Bleeding in 7th week

hey everyone. I am pregnant for the first time and so everything is very new and confusing. I have read up on this A LOT online but I get so many mixed messages. Pretty much every day for the last week I have bled when going to the bathroom. It is sometimes brown but sometimes very pink or even red. This is so unsettling and I feel so helpless. My stomach drops every time I wipe. I have been pretty crampy since week 4 so I am not too worried about the cramping currently. But don't know if that's a bad sign as well. Please help!

  • When is your first prenatal appointment? I would advise calling the doctor's office to see what they say.
  • First appointment is Tuesday next week.

Call your dr or go to the ER. We can't tell you what is normal and what is not, only medical professionals can. Good luck and fingers crossed for a sticky baby in there.

I agree - call your OB. Their advice will be the best to follow right now. American Pregnancy Assoc website does say that 20-30% of women experience some degree of bleeding during pregnancy and it is often nothing to worry about. My sister bled a lot and it turned out to be nothing. I have bled a bit in pregnancies. I have also bled and had cramps and I did miscarry that baby at 5 weeks. I wish I could give you solid answers, but I would call my OB, pray and wait. Maybe put your feet up and relax if you can.
I am at week 7 also and bleeding a bit. I just called mine, too. Prayers for you!

Wtf?? Please do not spout a bunch of crap making it sound like OP has done something to cause the bleeding herself.  This is one of the most judgemental things I've seen on here in a long time.

OP I hope everything is Ok! I bled from weeks 11-15 when I was pregnant with my son and it turned out to be a subchorionic hemmorhage. Sending positive thoughts your way.
  • @OliveOyl2014, that response kinda read like spam. Weird.

@ishmoney it really did. Like it was scripted. Either way, not her place to say anything like that.
  • I went through the same issue at week 6. Was diagnosed with sub chorionic hemorrhage. It's the partial tear of the placenta that causes bleed. But it usually clots and if not the doctor gives you medicines to induce the clotting. The baby is usually safe. But to be precautions the doc has put me on complete bed rest and progesterone supplements and it seems to work. So relax and talk to your doctor asap. Little bleed and spotting is curable. Please don't delay and make yourself anxious though.A calm mind is essential my doctor advices soothing music and pampering from family. All the best. We are there with you

    A. A SCH is not "curable" and there is no medication prescribed to induce clotting. It's a "wait it out" sort of thing that can go either way.

    B. Please stop perpetuating the whole "relax" and "low anxiety" treatment for a threatened MC. Anxiety has nothing to do with a pregnancy being successful or not. It is most certainly NOT the mothers fault if she miscarries.

    C. Bedrest and progesterone are pseudo-science for helping support the pregnancy. If it isn't viable, these things won't help.

Goodness, there's a lot of misinformation in this thread. *TW I've been through three pregnancies, and I bled with all three and only one stuck. There was no rhyme or reason to explain why. In fact, I bled the most with my rainbow baby who stuck. *End TW

OP, I hope your appointment went well and this story has a happy ending.
